  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Allows five runs in no-decision

Hill gave up five runs on seven hits in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, striking out five and walking two in four innings.

Hill allowed three home runs Tuesday, including two two-run shots. This was Hill's first start since April 14, and he threw a total of 79 pitches (45 for strikes). Hill is coming off a 2017 campaign in which he went 12-8 with a 3.32 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 166 strikeouts in 135.2 innings. It's been a rough start to 2018, but he has a favorable matchup against the Reds at home coming up this weekend.

  • Jon Gray SP | TEX

Rockies' Jon Gray: Fans eight over seven scoreless

Gray (4-4) earned the win Tuesday, pitching seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts while allowing four hits and a walk against the Angels.

Gray was in total command all night, inducing 14 swings and misses while recording 11 groundball outs versus just two via flyballs. The 26-year-old endured a rocky start to the season, but he's finally starting to round back into form. Over his last three starts, Gray has posted a 25:3 K:BB and has allowed just one run over 20 innings en route to earning the win in all three. He'll look to keep rolling when he next takes the hill Sunday against the Brewers.

  • Aaron Nola SP | PHI

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Strikes out 12

Nola (5-1) allowed one earned run on five hits while walking none and striking out 12 across seven innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Giants.

Nola's sole earned run came in the second inning after he allowed a single and double to lead off the inning. After that, he allowed just one baserunner past first base. This marks the fourth consecutive start that he has pitched at least seven innings and he has earned a win in all four of them. Through eight starts, he ranks among the National League leaders in most traditional fantasy categories, including wins, ERA, strikeouts and WHIP.

  • Jose Urena SP | LAA

Marlins' Jose Urena: Fans six in no-decision

Urena did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out six over 5.1 innings in the loss to the Cubs.

The 26-year-old is still in search of his first win (0-5), and the Marlins remain winless in his eight starts. The lack of any wins isn't pretty, but the record doesn't fully reflect Urena's performance thus far. He has a respectable 3.72 ERA and 36:7 K:BB in seven starts since his Opening Day blowup. He'll get another crack at his first victory Sunday against the Braves.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Brewers' Wade Miley: Suffers oblique strain

Miley sustained right oblique strain in Tuesday's start against the Indians, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Miley exited in the first inning of the game after throwing only 19 pitches. It's a tough break for the 31-year-old in only his second start of the season after he sustained a groin strain in spring training. No timetable has been announced, but a trip to the disabled list seems likely with Brent Suter -- who relieved Miley on Tuesday -- the top candidate to slot into the Brewers' starting rotation.

  • Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Takes loss Tuesday

Martinez (3-2) took the loss Tuesday and recorded only two strikeouts, allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks over five innings in the 7-1 loss to the Twins.

Martinez also hit a batter as he struggled with his control throughout the afternoon, but still managed to allow only the two earned runs. The outing snaps a fantastic run for the 26-year-old, who had tossed at least six innings and allowed one or zero runs in each of his last six starts. Martinez will carry a 1.62 ERA and 1.08 WHIP over 45 innings into his next start, slated for Sunday in San Diego.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Brewers' Wade Miley: Exits with apparent injury

Miley exited in the first inning of Tuesday's start against the Indians with an apparent injury, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Miley gave up a leadoff double to Francisco Lindor, walked Jason Kipnis and retired Jose Ramirez before exiting in the middle of Michael Brantley's at-bat. It was only Miley's second start of the season after suffering a groin strain in spring training, but the specifics of this injury remain unclear.

  • Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Avoids structural damage

Manager Dave Roberts indicated Kershaw (biceps) underwent an MRI which revealed no structural damage, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Kershaw could begin playing catch at some point this week, but beyond that there remains no official timetable for his recovery. The Dodgers' ace seems likely to miss more than one turn in the rotation, but a clearer picture should come into focus once he resumes playing catch. Ross Stripling should continue in Los Angeles' starting rotation in the meantime.

  • Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT

Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Rotation spot not guaranteed

Eickhoff (lat) does not have a guaranteed rotation spot upon his return from the disabled list, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Eickhoff threw in an extended spring game Tuesday and is likely a couple weeks away from returning. It was assumed that he would have a rotation spot locked in, but two strong starts from Zach Eflin (who owns a 0.71 ERA) seem to have cast that into doubt. There's plenty of time for Eflin to revert back to his former self before Eickhoff returns, though, as he owns a career 5.39 ERA and a 13.2 percent strikeout rate in 24 career big-league starts.

  • Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Bullpen session scheduled for Thursday

Wainwright (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Thursday, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

The Cardinals will decide the next step for Wainwright following Thursday's workout. Although he threw five shutout innings in a rehab start at Double-A Springfield on Monday, the Cardinals may want the 36-year-old to throw in at least one more rehab game before coming off the disabled list.
