  • MacKenzie Gore SP | TEX

Padres' MacKenzie Gore: Out again with blister

Gore was placed on 7-day disabled list at Low-A Fort Wayne on Monday due to a blister on his throwing hand, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The young lefty missed nearly a month earlier in the season with the same issue, limiting him to just three starts with Fort Wayne thus far. Gore has yielded nine earned runs in eight innings, but it's tough to judge his performance in a small, injury-affected sample. Padres minor-league pitching coordinator Eric Junge said he expects Gore to miss at least a couple of starts due to the latest setback, so don't expect him back on the mound until around early-to-mid-June.

  • Rockies' German Marquez: Picks up third win as road success continues

Marquez (3-5) held the Dodgers to a run on two hits and two walks with five strikeouts through seven innings to pick up the win Monday.

Marquez had his best start of the season Monday night, as he completed seven innings for the first time in 10 outings. Away from Coors Field, Marquez has been fantastic, as he hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in six road starts. Avoid him at Coors Field, where he has had starts of five, six and seven earned runs allowed. Unfortunately, Marquez's next scheduled start will be in Colorado on Sunday, where he'll face the Reds.

  • Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Takes tough no-decision against Rockies

Buehler allowed one run on two hits and struck out six over seven innings but was stuck with a no-decision Monday against Colorado.

For the second time in his past three outings, Buehler didn't walk a single batter. The only blemish on his night was a fifth-inning solo home run by Gerardo Parra. Otherwise, Buehler was brilliant, as he kept hitters off balance all night with a blazing fastball that topped out at 97.3 mph and an array of breaking pitches (changeup, slider and knuckle-curve) that held opposing hitters to 0-for-7 on balls in play. Buehler is 2-1 with a 2.38 ERA and could have an even stronger record if only the Dodgers offense would give him some support, but alas, they were only able to muster one run against Colorado's German Marquez. Buehler will look for his third win again Sunday against the Padres.

  • Miles Mikolas RP | WAS

Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Tosses shutout for sixth victory

Mikolas (6-0) allowed just four hits and a walk and struck out nine in a shutout win over the Royals on Monday.

Mikolas was just about perfect, as he didn't allow a single extra-base hit, eliminated two of his five baserunners via double plays and tossed an efficient 77 strikes on 109 pitches. His slider in particular was vicious, as it induced nine outs in play and five swinging strikes. It's an incredible breaking pitch, and Mikolas throws it hard enough (89.7 mph average) to use it as a primary pitch -- he threw nearly as many sliders (41) as fastballs (48). Mikolas owns a stellar 2.24 ERA and will look to keep his breakout season going Sunday against Pittsburgh.

  • Zack Greinke SP | KC

Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke: Bitten by long ball

Greinke (3-3) allowed four runs on five hits and struck out nine across six innings Monday as he took the loss against Milwaukee.

Greinke was plagued by the home-run ball Monday, as he allowed three during his 10th start of the season. Although he was spotted a 1-0 advantage after the top of the first inning, Greinke gave up a two-run homer to Travis Shaw in the bottom half of the inning, and the Diamondbacks were never able to reclaim the lead. Following the loss, he sits with a 3.71 ERA and 0.99 WHIP to go along with 67 strikeouts over 60.2 innings. The 34-year-old right-hander will look to bounce back in his next start, which figures to come Sunday against Oakland.

  • Chase Anderson RP | TEX

Brewers' Chase Anderson: Looks strong in return

Anderson (4-3) allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three as he picked up the win Monday in a 4-2 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Anderson looked a bit rusty in the first inning after loading the bases on a single, a walk and a hit batsman, but he managed to work his way out of trouble, allowing Arizona to plate just one run. He has accrued a 3.86 ERA and 1.13 WHIP across 51.1 innings, but his underlying numbers are a bit concerning. Anderson rode a career-best 16.2 K-BB% to a career year in 2017, but his 6.7 K-BB% through nine starts would be easily a career worst and ranks eighth worst among big-league starters with 50-plus innings this season.

  • Joey Lucchesi RP | LAA

Padres' Joey Lucchesi: Could require additional time on DL

Lucchesi (hip) hasn't been able to throw beyond 75 feet, Dennis Lin of The Athletic San Diego reports.

Lucchesi was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday, although he doesn't appear to be recovering fast enough to return within the next week. Manager Andy Green stated that he hopes for Lucchesi to progress a bit faster. The skipper isn't confident the 24-year-old pitcher will be ready to come off the DL in the near future.

  • Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Undergoes non-intrusive procedure

Wainwright underwent a non-intrusive procedure on his elbow Monday, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

The procedure involved doctors using a microscopic camera to take pictures of the inside of his right elbow in an attempt to determine the root of his pain. The results aren't known at this point. Wainwright is currently on the 60-day disabled list and isn't eligible to return until mid-July.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Plays catch Monday

Hill (finger) played catch Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.

Hill was throwing with his left middle finger wrapped in medical tape, and the veteran pitcher said he intends to ask MLB for permission to wear the tape in games. Even if the league doesn't allow the 38-year-old to wear the tape in games, Ardaya notes that Hill believes it will help shorten his recovery by allowing him to continue throwing regularly. He's currently expected to miss the next month of action.

  • Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Plays catch Monday

Kershaw (biceps) was able to play catch Monday following his 30-pitch bullpen session Sunday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

The fact that Kershaw was able to throw the day after participating in his first bullpen session since the injury is great news for the Dodgers. He's expected to toss another bullpen Wednesday (30-40 pitches) followed by a simulated game Saturday. If all goes well, Kershaw could make his return to the rotation by late next week.
