Yu Darvish SP | SD
Cubs' Yu Darvish: Ruled out for season
Darvish was ruled out for the season Tuesday after being diagnosed with a stress reaction on the tip of his elbow in addition to a triceps strain, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic Chicago reports.
The prognosis didn't look good after Darvish was forced to leave his rehab start Sunday at Low-A South Bend after just one inning, and Tuesday's news confirms as much. He'll be shut down for the next six weeks, which won't leave him with enough time to build back up even if the Cubs make a deep postseason run. It's expected that Darvish will be back to full strength for the start of spring training, but the Cubs will likely remain cautious with him, given that he has already suffered multiple setbacks in his recovery.

Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Activated from disabled list
Martinez (shoulder) was activated from the disabled list Tuesday.
Martinez is expected to remain in the bullpen for the rest of the year, as the team feels comfortable that he's able to pitch but not for long enough periods to start. There hasn't been any indication that he's an immediate threat to Bud Norris as a closer, but he has the talent to retain some fantasy value as a reliever even if he doesn't get saves, especially if his stuff ticks up a notch in the bullpen.

Chase Anderson RP | TEX
Brewers' Chase Anderson: Delivers quality start in win over Reds
Anderson allowed two runs on two hits and no walks across six innings to earn the win Monday against the Reds. He struck out six.
Anderson allowed a pair of solo home runs in the second inning, but he amazingly retired all 15 batters he faced in his other five frames on the evening. He required just 76 pitches in the outing, throwing 50 for strikes as he tied his highest strikeout total in nearly two months. Anderson received some extra rest after struggling over his previous two starts and appears to have responded quite well to the move. He'll take a 3.92 ERA into this weekend's matchup with the Pirates.

Zack Wheeler SP | PHI
Mets' Zack Wheeler: Strikes out 10 in no-decision
Wheeler tossed seven innings of one-run ball Monday in a no-decision against the Giants, allowing five hits and one walk with 10 strikeouts.
Wheeler threw 72 percent of his pitches for strikes and induced 21 swinging strikes as he notched double-digit punchouts for the first time this season. He ran into a bit of trouble in the seventh, allowing a run on two hits and a walk, but he battled through the frame and finished with his fourth quality start in his last five tries. Wheeler has posted a minuscule 0.92 ERA and a sharp 40:7 K:BB during that span. He'll look to continue his strong recent run of form this weekend against the Nationals.

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Next rehab appearance on tap
Wainwright (elbow) is slated to make another rehab appearance with Double-A Springfield on Wednesday, Jack Baer of MLB.com reports.
The recovering right-hander logged two innings in his first Double-A outing Sunday, getting through the pair of frames with just one hit allowed and four strikeouts. Wainwright is slated to work up to 35 pitches in Wednesday's start. Interim manager Mike Shildt commented Monday that how Wainwright will be deployed upon his activation is still to be decided.

Alex Wood RP | ATH
Dodgers' Alex Wood: Chased after four innings
Wood didn't factor into the decision against the Cardinals on Monday, yielding three earned runs on seven hits over four innings. He struck out four and walked two in the Dodgers' 5-3 defeat.
Wood had been on a nice run of seven quality starts in his last nine outings coming into this contest, but he was given the hook after just four innings against St. Louis and thus couldn't put himself in line for his eighth win of the season. He'll carry a 3.60 ERA and 1.19 WHIP through 132.1 innings into his next start, which will come Sunday at home against the Padres.

Kyle Wright SP | CHC
Braves' Kyle Wright: Could get September callup
Wright could join the big-league bullpen in September, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
The Braves may look to continue to show off their impressive stable of high-end pitching prospects, although it doesn't sound like Wright will get a start. Promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett at the end of July, Wright has a 2.81 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 25 strikeouts in 25.2 innings across four starts for the Stripers. He has No. 2 starter upside long term, but could be deadly in short bursts out of the bullpen. Look for him to join the big-league rotation at some point in 2019.
-
Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Rehab moves to Double-A
Urias (shoulder) will pitch for Double-A Tulsa on Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.
He has made two starts apiece in the AZL and the California League, but has not logged more than 1.2 innings in any of his four rehab starts to date. Urias threw 32 pitches (16 strikes) in his most recent rehab start for High-A Rancho Cucamonga last week. It has already been announced that Urias will work in a relief capacity when he is activated from the disabled list this year, likely in September.

Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Braves' Kevin Gausman: Start pushed back to Tuesday
Gausman's next outing has been moved to Tuesday versus Pittsburgh with Bryse Wilson starting Monday's series opener, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Per Bowman, Gausman was told about the change Sunday night. This switch allows the club to move each member of the rotation back a day, which isn't completely surprising given that the Braves are about to play their 17th game in the past 15 days.

Zach Eflin SP | BAL
Phillies' Zach Eflin: Will return to start Wednesday
The Phillies are listing Eflin as their probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.
Eflin was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley following his start in the second game of a doubleheader Aug. 16, but the move was strictly procedural with the right-hander serving as the Phillies' 26th man for the twin bill. The 24-year-old will rejoin Philadelphia on Wednesday when first eligible to do so and make his normal turn in the rotation, enabling the Phillies to get by without having to add another starter to the mix. He'll oppose Stephen Strasburg (neck) in the divisional matchup.
