Steven Matz RP | TB
Mets' Steven Matz: Picks up third win
Matz (3-1) secured the win after allowing two runs on five hits and striking out four over seven innings Sunday against Milwaukee.
Matz cruised through the first six innings before surrendering a two-run blast by Mike Moustakas, his only blemish of the game. Matz has been rock-solid in each of his past two outings, giving up three runs over 13 innings while striking out 10. He'll look to carry this momentum into his next start, which lines up for Friday, also against the Brewers.

Jack Flaherty SP | DET
Cardinals' Jack Flaherty: Gets win after seven shutout frames
Flaherty (3-1) gave up no runs on four hits with one walk while striking out four through seven innings in a win over the Reds on Sunday.
Flaherty cruised through seven shutout innings to pick up his third win. The right-hander delivered a nice outing after giving up at least four runs in his previous two starts. The 23-year-old has a 4.06 ERA and a 36:6 K:BB through six starts this season. Flaherty will get his next start Friday at Wrigley Field.

Sonny Gray SP | BOS
Reds' Sonny Gray: Takes loss
Gray (0-4) gave up two runs with two walks while striking out five through five innings in a loss to the Cardinals on Sunday.
Gray was efficient for most of this start but unraveled in the fourth inning, allowing four runners to reach base and two runs to score. The right-hander continues to carry a 2.05 FIP, over a run lower than his ERA, suggesting that he is pitching even better than his numbers indicate. The 29-year-old has a 3.64 ERA with a 36:8: K:BB through six starts this season. Gray will attempt to get into the win column in his next start Friday against the Giants.

Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Braves' Kevin Gausman: Turns in shaky outing
Gausman allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings in Sunday's no-decision against the Rockies.
Both starting pitchers struggled to find it in the series finale, and while Gausman was spotted an early 3-0 lead, he'd quickly surrender it during a four-run third inning. The right-hander has yet to find consistency in 2019, as he's given up four or more runs in three of his five starts. Gausman owns a 4.80 ERA with 33 strikeouts over 30 innings this season.

Tyler Anderson SP | LAA
Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Fans nine in disappointing outing
Anderson allowed five runs on four hits and four walks while striking out nine over 4.2 innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Braves.
Anderson wasn't sharp on the hill in this one, and the Braves got to him for three first-inning runs on a pair of long balls. Atlanta also tacked on another run in the third and fourth innings before the 29-year-old was lifted. Anderson has struggled mightily so far this season, and his 11.34 ERA over 16.2 frames proves it.

Pablo Lopez SP | MIN
Marlins' Pablo Lopez: Suffers fourth loss
Lopez allowed four runs on three hits and three walks and struck out four over 5.2 innings on the way to a loss Sunday against the Phillies.
Lopez wasn't sharp on the hill in the series finale, surrendering a run in the first, two in the third and another in the sixth on a wild pitch. The 23-year-old righty was coming off a pair of stellar outings heading into Sunday's start (two earned runs over 11.1 frames), so he'll aim to get back on track in his next outing, which lines up for Sunday against Atlanta.

Zach Eflin SP | BAL
Phillies' Zach Eflin: Hurls complete game
Eflin (3-3) surrendered one run on seven hits and struck out three over nine innings on the way to a win Sunday against the Marlins.
Eflin pitched a gem to pick up his third win of the 2019 season, tossing all nine frames in a 5-1 victory. The 25-year-old allowed his lone run of the outing in the fourth inning on an infield single. Eflin has allowed three or fewer earned runs in five of six outings so far this year, which is good enough for a 3.34 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 26 punchouts over 35 innings. His next start lines up for Saturday against the Nationals.

Alex Wood RP | ATH
Reds' Alex Wood: Setback in rehab
Wood (back) had a setback after throwing a bullpen session on Wednesday and his return will be delayed, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. "I think he had his most encouraging day when he was in San Diego [last Saturday]," manager David Bell said. "But when he threw in the next session in Arizona, the next day it didn't respond that well. It's a little bit of a step back. He may go next week for an exam, like a second opinion, on his back."
At this point, Wood and the Reds might be in an indefinite delay, and further medical options will need to be considered. This is especially bad timing for the Reds, as Wood's replacement Tyler Mahle has struggled more lately.

J.T. Brubaker RP | SF
Pirates' JT Brubaker: Dealing with forearm strain
Brubaker was placed on the 7-day injured list with a right forearm strain Sunday.
Brubaker recorded a 2.57 ERA and a 20:4 K:BB in 21 frames prior to the injury. It's unclear when he's expected to be back in action.

Rich Hill SP | KC
Dodgers' Rich Hill: Activated for season debut
Hill (knee) was activated from the 10-day injured list as expected to start Sunday against the Pirates.
A knee strain kept HIll out of action since the start of the regular season, but he's ready to go after a handful of rehab appearances. The 39-year-old hasn't made more than 25 starts in a season since 2007 but has recorded an ERA no higher than 3.66 for five straight seasons.
