Pirates' Trevor Williams: Leaves game with injury
Williams left the fourth inning of Thursday's game with an apparent right oblique injury, John Perrotto of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
The hurler winced after throwing a pitch and grabbed his right side. After a brief consultation with the team's trainer, he walked off the mound. Williams allowed one run on two hits and a walk in 3.2 innings. He struck out five batters.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
Cubs' Jose Quintana: Loses second straight
Quintana (4-3) allowed three runs on six hits across five innings to take the loss Thursday against the Reds. He walked one and struck out four.
Quintana lost his second straight decision, though the lefty pitched decently in both outings. It didn't help that the Cubs scored a total of two runs in those games. Quintana still has a solid 3.68 ERA and 50:15 K:BB across 51.1 innings this season. He'll look to get back into the win column in his next start, which is scheduled for Tuesday against the Phillies.

Zack Wheeler SP | PHI
Mets' Zack Wheeler: Yields six runs in defeat
Wheeler (3-3) allowed six runs on 11 hits with six strikeouts and two walks across six innings while taking the loss against the Nationals on Thursday.
After yielding four runs in the first inning, Wheeler settled down, and the Mets actually tied the game, but then the right-hander gave up a two-run homer in the fifth. It was the first long ball Wheeler had allowed since April 17. He is now 3-3 with a 4.85 ERA and 1.44 WHIP. Those aren't great numbers, but owners have to be attracted to his 64 strikeouts in 55.2 innings. Wheeler is scheduled to face the Nationals again in his next start Tuesday.

Zach Eflin SP | BAL
Phillies' Zach Eflin: Three-game winning streak snapped
Eflin (5-4) allowed four runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and two walks across five innings while taking the loss against the Brewers on Thursday.
This performance snapped a three-game streak where Eflin was 3-0 with a 0.72 ERA. While the seven strikeouts was his in a game since April 2, the Brewers scored in every inning but one against Eflin. Before Thursday, Eflin hadn't allowed four runs in a game since April 13. He is now 5-4 with a 2.89 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 45 strikeouts in 56 innings. Eflin will pitch next against the Cubs on Tuesday.

Zach Davies SP | WAS
Brewers' Zach Davies: Continues hot streak
Davies allowed three runs (one earned) on four hits with five strikeouts and one walk across six innings to earn a victory against the Phillies on Thursday.
Jean Segura hit a solo home run in the bottom of the first, and the Phillies added two unearned runs in the third, but the Brewers responded with nine unanswered to help Davies capture his fifth victory. Because two runs were unearned, he continued his streak of allowing two or fewer earned runs in his first nine starts. He only has 36 strikeouts in 52.2 innings, but behind that streak, he is 5-0 with a 1.54 ERA and 1.18 WHIP this season. Davies is scheduled to pitch next Wednesday against the Reds.

Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Dealing with thigh issue
Maeda will head to the 10-day injured list after hitting a foul ball off his thigh during an at-bat Wednesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
The Dodgers are reportedly placing Maeda on the injured list as a precaution, so he shouldn't be forced to miss more than one turn through the rotation. Los Angeles has yet to announce who will start in the right-hander's place Wednesday against Tampa Bay.

Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Likely headed for IL
Maeda is expected to be placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with an undisclosed injury, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Maeda hurled 6.2 scoreless innings and fanned 12 in Wednesday's outing against the Padres, but he appears to have suffered some sort of injury during the contest. The extent of the problem is unknown at this time, though he'll miss at least one start while on the shelf.

Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Expected back Saturday
Martinez (shoulder) will be activated from the 10-day injured list Saturday, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
Martinez was cleared to return after being examined by the team's medical staff in St. Louis. The right-hander completed a five-game rehab stint across three minor-league affiliates, allowing just one run while striking out six across 6.2 innings. He'll start out in the bullpen, though Martinez said he's hoping to rejoin the starting rotation at some point after the All-Star break, if the Cardinals allow it.
