  • Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Sent home with illness

Syndergaard was sent home Tuesday due to strep throat, but he's expected to make his scheduled start Saturday against the Cardinals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Syndergaard's illness is believed to be minor, but his status will be worth keeping an eye on leading up to Saturday's outing.

  • Kevin Gausman SP | CHC

Braves' Kevin Gausman: Lands on injured list

Gausman was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

Gausman was pulled after allowing four runs (two earned) over 2.1 innings Monday night, and it seems likely that his foot issue played a role in his disastrous outing. A.J. Minter was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding move.

  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Braves' Dallas Keuchel: Next start slated for Saturday

Keuchel will make his next start for Double-A Mississippi on Saturday, 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.

Keuchel looked razor sharp in his first minor-league start Monday, firing seven scoreless frames while fanning nine with Low-A Rome. The Braves have reported that Keuchel should only need two starts in the minors, which would put him on track to make his Atlanta debut June 21 against the Nationals.

  • Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT

Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Removed from rotation

Eickhoff is no longer a member of Philadelphia's starting rotation, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Eickhoff was shelled by the Diamondbacks on Monday, allowing seven runs over three-plus innings, so the Phillies have elected to move him to the bullpen. It remains to be seen who will take Eickhoff's spot in the rotation.

  • Zack Wheeler SP | PHI

Mets' Zack Wheeler: Takes loss vs. Yankees

Wheeler (5-4) took the loss, allowing nine runs (five earned) on 10 hits and one walk while striking out six over 4.2 innings in the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday against the Yankees.

Wheeler, who lost his first game since May 16, was staked to a 4-1 lead in the top of the third inning but gave one back in the bottom of the third and then ran into big trouble in the fourth as Gio Urshela hit a two-run homer and Luke Voit added a three-run blast to give the Yankees a 7-4 lead. The 29-year-old came out for the fifth but permitted two more runs and was removed after 94 pitches. Wheeler has a 4.87 ERA and 1.29 WHIP, and he'll look to rebound Sunday at home against the Cardinals.

  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Braves' Dallas Keuchel: Dominates in Low-A tuneup

Keuchel allowed a hit and a walk over seven scoreless innings while striking out nine in his first rehab start with Low-A Rome on Monday.

Predictably, the former Cy Young Award winner was too much for Sally League hitters, despite his long layoff from facing live competition. Keuchel, who threw 77 pitches Monday, will likely make his next start for Triple-A Gwinnett over the weekend. If all goes well in that outing, his subsequent turn could come next week as a member of the Atlanta rotation.

  • Ian Anderson RP | ATL

Braves' Ian Anderson: Pacing Southern League in K's

Anderson gave up one run on five hits and three walks over five innings while striking out nine for Double-A Mississippi on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old now leads the Southern League in strikeouts with 86 after fanning at least seven batters in four straight starts and six of his last nine. Anderson's 3.02 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 5.0 BB/9 through 65.2 innings highlight that he's far from a finished product, but Atlanta's No. 4 fantasy prospect is still on pace to potentially make his big-league debut in 2020 if he keeps racking up K's.

  • Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR

Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Sharp again in no-decision

Ryu didn't factor into the decision against the Angels on Monday, giving up one earned run on seven hits over six innings, striking out six and walking none in a 5-3 defeat for the Dodgers.

He didn't get his 10th win, but Ryu nonetheless continued his Cy Young-caliber start to the season, as he's now sporting a 1.36 ERA and a 0.80 WHIP to go along with a ridiculous 77:5 K:BB through 86 innings. Remarkably, the 32-year-old still hasn't given up more than two earned in a start all season, a streak he'll look to continue when he takes on the Cubs in a home matchup in his next start on Sunday.

  • Cardinals' Merandy Gonzalez: Outrighted off 40-man roster

Gonzalez, who cleared waivers and was outrighted off the 40-man roster Monday, will remain with Double-A Springfield, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Gonzalez was designated for assignment Saturday, and he'll now head back to a Springfield club for which he'd generated a 6.75 ERA and 2.17 WHIP across 24.0 innings across 21 appearances.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Cubs' Yu Darvish: Gives up four earned in no-decision

Darvish threw six innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Monday, giving up four earned runs on six hits, striking out three and walking none in the Cubs' 6-5 defeat.

Darvish mostly pitched well in this contest, but third-inning long balls from Charlie Blackmon and Nolan Arenado accounted for all of the damage against him and would ultimately force him to settle for a no-decision. The right-hander has been pitching better lately, but an erratic start to the season still leaves him with a 4.98 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP through 72.1 innings. He's scheduled to take the mound next on the road against the Dodgers on Saturday.
