Cole Hamels SP | SD
Cubs' Cole Hamels: Throws again Monday
Hamels (oblique) threw from 120 feet Monday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Hamels resumed his throwing program Friday and has ramped things up in recent days. He felt good during the session and could toss a bullpen as soon as Wednesday, per Gonzales, though it remains unclear when he's expected to head out on a rehab assignment.

Corbin Burnes SP | ARI
Brewers' Corbin Burnes: Out with shoulder irritation
Burnes landed on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder irritation Monday.
The shoulder issue perhaps explains Burnes' pair of poor outings since the All-Star break, as he's allowed six runs while recording just three outs. The fact that the issue is described as merely "irritation" suggests that he may not miss too much time, though the Brewers have yet to specify a target return date. Burch Smith was recalled in a corresponding move.

Alex Wood RP | ATH
Reds' Alex Wood: Another rehab start scheduled
Wood (back) will make another rehab start Wednesday for Triple-A Louisville, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Wood has made a pair of rehab appearances so far, allowing four runs (three earned) in 3.1 innings. He's expected to throw four innings and around 60-to-65 pitches Wednesday, leaving him likely still a few rehab appearances away from being activated from the injured list.

Steven Matz RP | TB
Mets' Steven Matz: Lines up for two starts
Matz is scheduled to rejoin the starting rotation Tuesday against the Twins, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Coming out of the All-Star break, Matz had been in line to make his first start of the second half Wednesday in the series finale in Minnesota, but he'll be moved up a day in the schedule after Zack Wheeler (shoulder) was surprisingly moved to the 10-day injured list. While Matz won't face a different opponent as a result of the change, he'll now line up for a two-start week, with his second turn set to come Sunday in San Francisco.

Zack Wheeler SP | PHI
Mets' Zack Wheeler: Shelved with shoulder fatigue
The Mets intend to place Wheeler on the 10-day injured list due to right shoulder fatigue, a source tells Tim Healey of Newsday.
Wheeler had been in line to start Tuesday's series opener in Minnesota, but Healey's report suggests the right-hander likely experienced some discomfort during his side session over the weekend. Since Wheeler's last appearance came prior to the All-Star break, his IL stint can only be backdated three days, leaving him ineligible for reinstatement until at least July 23. The Mets will likely name a replacement starter for Tuesday when the team formally announces Wheeler's placement on the IL.

Huascar Ynoa SP | LAA
Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Recalled from Triple-A

Ynoa has thrown two scoreless innings for the Braves so far this year. In 36.1 innings for Gwinnett, he owns an unimpressive 5.20 ERA. held back by a high walk rate (11.4 percent), which has been an issue throughout his professional career. Jacob Webb (elbow) landed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Joey Wentz SP | ATL
Braves' Joey Wentz: Dominating at Double-A
Wentz gave up one run on three hits and two walks over 5.2 innings for Double-A Mississippi on Sunday. He struck out eight.
It's been an up-and-down season for the 21-year-old lefty, as reflected in his 4.34 ERA and 1.30 WHIP, but something seems to have clicked for Wentz over his last four starts. He's posted a sparkling 1.03 ERA and 35:11 K:BB through 24.1 innings over that stretch, striking out at least eight batters in each start, and if he can maintain that kind of dominance he could get his feet wet at Triple-A before the year is through.

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR
Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Holds Red Sox to two runs
Ryu gave up two runs in seven innings against Boston on Sunday but did not factor into the decision. He allowed eight hits and one walk while striking out six.
In his first appearance after a splendid first half of the season that earned Ryu a starting nod in the All-Star Game, the South Korean lefty got off to a rough start against the Red Sox, allowing a pair of runs before recording his third out. However, he settled in to blank Boston for the remainder of his outing, allowing only three hits and one walk after the first inning. In doing so, Ryu tossed his 15th quality start of the season, tied for second among all pitchers. He was in line for his 11th win until Pedro Baez gave up a pair of homers in the eighth inning to tie the score 4-4. Ryu continues to stake his claim as the front-runner for the NL Cy Young Award, posting a 1.78 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and league-leading 9.55 K/BB on the season. He'll head home to face the Marlins on Friday in his next scheduled start.

Trevor Williams RP | TEX
Pirates' Trevor Williams: Turns in worst 2019 start
Williams (3-3) allowed eight runs on 11 hits with three walks and four strikeouts across 5.1 innings while taking a loss against the Cubs on Sunday.
The 27-year-old has struggled lately, but this might have been his worst start of the season. The Cubs really hit Williams hard, particularly in the fifth and sixth innings. The 11 hits he allowed was a season high along with the three homers he yielded. After 24 runs permitted in his last four starts, all the sudden Williams owns a 5.17 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and .289 batting average against. He also has 61 strikeouts in 76.2 innings this season. Williams will look to get right at home against the Phillies on Saturday.
