Chris Paddack RP | TEX
Padres' Chris Paddack: Surrenders six runs in slugfest
Paddack allowed six runs in four innings against the Dodgers on Sunday but did not factor into the decision. He gave up six hits and walked one batter while striking out six.
The talented rookie fell behind 3-0 on a pair of second-inning home runs and exited after the Dodgers scored thrice more in the fourth. The six earned runs were the most Paddack has allowed thus far in his career, and the rough outing snapped a sterling seven-game stretch in which he notched three wins while posting a 2.50 ERA. The 23-year-old is next scheduled for a home matchup against Colorado on Saturday.

Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Labors in shortest start of season
Maeda did not factor into the decision against the Padres on Sunday, completing 2.2 innings and allowing five runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four.
Maeda pitched two perfect frames before falling apart in a five-run third inning that included a grand slam off the bat of Eric Hosmer. The outing marked the first time Maeda has completed less than four innings in a start this season and extended his streak of winless appearances to 12. It was also the second consecutive start in which the Japanese hurler allowed five earned runs, though it bears mentioning that the previous outing was in the altitude of Colorado. Maeda now sports a 4.37 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 122:39 K:BB in 115.1 innings this season and is next scheduled to face the Diamondbacks on Saturday in Los Angeles.

Zac Gallen SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Zac Gallen: Arizona debut coming Wednesday
Gallen is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Phillies.
The right-hander with be making his Arizona debut exactly one week after he was dealt away from the Marlins in one of the more surprising moves ahead of the trade deadline. The move from Marlins Park to Chase Field shouldn't have a major impact on Gallen's bottom-line numbers, as both venues have ranked in the top five in terms of home-run suppression in 2019.

Dustin May SP | MIL
Dodgers' Dustin May: Earns another start
May is listed as the Dodgers' scheduled starter for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
The rookie earned a second start after turning in a passable MLB debut against the Padres over the weekend, working into the sixth inning while allowing three runs and striking out three. In total, the 21-year-old May has covered only 112.1 innings between three levels this season, so a shutdown due to workload restrictions shouldn't be imminent after he tossed 132.2 frames in 2018. That being said, May might not have much longevity in the Los Angeles rotation with starters Hyun-Jin Ryu (neck) and Ross Stripling (biceps) seemingly tracking toward brief stays on the 10-day injured list.

Jordan Lyles RP | KC
Brewers' Jordan Lyles: Sticking in rotation
Lyles is scheduled to start Monday's game against the Pirates.
After serving up 12 home runs in his final eight starts with the Pirates before being traded to the Brewers, Lyles tightened up his command in his Milwaukee debut last week. The spacious confines in Oakland surely helped Lyles' cause as he tossed five innings of one-run ball, but he could run into more trouble while returning to his old stomping grounds in Pittsburgh in his second start with his new club. Over his 45.2 innings at PNC Park this season, Lyles submitted a 5.52 ERA while allowing opposing hitters to post a .386 wOBA.

Julio Teheran SP | BAL
Braves' Julio Teheran: Walks six in no-decision
Teheran allowed three runs on three hits with six walks and five strikeouts across five innings during a no-decision against the Reds on Sunday.
The 28-year-old escaped with a no-decision because the Braves rallied to tie the game in the ninth, but Teheran still walked a season-high six batters. Walks have been an issue for Teheran most of the season, but he hadn't allowed more than three in a start since May 26. His 4.3 BB/9 is why he owns a 1.30 WHIP with a .223 batting average against. Teheran is also 6-7 with a 3.46 ERA and 119 strikeouts in 130 innings this season, and he will pitch next at the Marlins on Friday.

Sonny Gray SP | BOS
Reds' Sonny Gray: Tosses seven scoreless
Gray threw seven shutout innings with four hits and four walks along with seven strikeouts during a no-decision against the Braves on Sunday.
While four walks was his most since June 21, Gray pitched very well and was more than deserving of a win, but the Reds bullpen gave up three runs over the eighth and ninth to blow his chance. With the seven scoreless frames, Gray dropped his ERA to 3.25, which is his best mark in the category since the middle of April. He is also 6-6 with a 1.13 WHIP and 137 strikeouts in 121.2 innings this season. Next, Gray will face the Cubs on Saturday.

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Snaps three-start losing streak
Freeland (3-9) allowed two runs on five hits and a walk across five innings Sunday, striking out five batters and earning the win over the Giants.
It was Freeland's first win since April 18 and snapped his streak of losing six straight decisions. He threw just 54-of-84 pitches for strikes, including 10-of-20 first-pitch strikes. The 26-year-old lowered his ERA to a still-ugly 7.24 in 82 innings this season. Freeland will look to get some momentum going in San Diego on Saturday.

Adrian Houser SP | SF
Brewers' Adrian Houser: Coughs up four runs in loss
Houser (4-5) allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk over five innings Sunday, striking out five and taking the loss to the Cubs.
Houser's day started off on the wrong foot when he was taken deep by Jason Heyward for a leadoff shot. He gave up two more runs in the second inning before giving up another solo homer to Kyle Schwarber in the fifth. Houser's ERA ballooned up to 4.24 and he's now 0-5 in eight starts this season. It's unclear if he'll get another turn in the rotation after this one.

Joe Musgrove SP | SD
Pirates' Joe Musgrove: Hit hard in loss
Musgrove (8-10) gave up eight runs on 10 hits and no walks while striking out five through 3.1 innings to take the loss against the Mets on Sunday.
Musgrove allowed two home runs in the first inning and continued to get hit hard as he gave up five more runs in his next 2.1 frames. Musgrove has allowed five or more runs eight times this season and three of those have come in his last five starts. The 26-year-old has a 4.69 ERA with 109 strikeouts through 23 starts this season. Musgrove will make his next start Saturday against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
