David Peterson SP | CHC
Mets' David Peterson: Starting series finale
Peterson will start Sunday's game against the Blue Jays in Buffalo.
After a one-game cameo in the bullpen, Peterson moved back into the rotation Sept. 7 and was lit up by the Phillies, giving up five runs on three hits and four walks in two innings. The Mets don't have many other appealing starting options to turn to, so Peterson will be given the opportunity to try and bounce back against the Blue Jays.

Trevor Williams RP | TEX
Pirates' Trevor Williams: Roughed up by Royals
Williams (1-7) took the loss Saturday as the Pirates were downed 7-4 by the Royals, surrendering six runs on 10 hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out four.
Two of the 10 hits left the yard, and Williams struggled in almost every frame. The right-hander threw 65 of 101 pitches for strikes as he lost his fourth straight decision. Williams will carry a 6.35 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 42:18 K:BB through 45.1 innings into his next outing Thursday, at home against the Cardinals.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Looks sharp in no-decision
Hendricks covered 7.2 innings and didn't factor into the decision Saturday in the Cubs' 4-2 win over the Brewers. He gave up two runs on six hits and no walks while striking out seven.
Hendricks wasn't quite as good as he was in his previous matchup with Milwaukee on Opening Day -- a complete-game shutout with nine strikeouts -- but he still delivered another stellar outing to drop his season ERA and WHIP to 3.29 and 1.05, respectively. He was on the hook for the loss after departing with the Cubs facing a 2-0 deficit, but a three-run home run by Jason Heyward and a solo shot by Ildemaro Vargas in the ninth inning spared Hendricks from dropping to 5-5. Saturday's game was the first time in his 10 starts this season that Hendricks didn't factor into a decision.

Jose Urena SP | LAA
Marlins' Jose Urena: Struggles in second start back
Urena (0-1) allowed six runs on five hits (two home runs) and four walks while striking out two across 4.1 innings Saturday as he was handed the loss against the Phillies.
Urena's night couldn't have gotten off to a worse start as he let up a first-inning grand slam to Didi Gregorius for an early 4-0 deficit. The hard-throwing righty later surrendered a solo home run to Bryce Harper in the third and did not make it out of the fifth frame after running into more trouble while closing in on 100 pitches for the night. Through two starts since being reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list, Urena has a 7.71 ERA and a troublesome 4:7 K:BB across 9.1 innings but should maintain his spot in the rotation with Elieser Hernandez (lat) being ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Seth Lugo SP | KC
Mets' Seth Lugo: Handed loss Saturday
Lugo (2-3) allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five across 5.1 innings Friday as he took the loss against the Blue Jays.
Lugo was able to maneuver through the Blue Jays' lineup the first time around, allowing one hit through the first nine batters, but he could not replicate the same success a second time. Lugo allowed six of his seven hits from the fourth inning on as the Blue Jays chased him for a run in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth frames. Saturday was Lugo's first loss in four attempts since the Mets decided to convert him to a starter. The 30-year-old owns a 2.63 ERA and 36:7 K:BB across 27.1 innings. He'll look to get back in the win column Friday against a surging Atlanta Braves team.

Zac Gallen SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Zac Gallen: Pummeled by Mariners
Gallen suffered the loss against Seattle on Saturday, pitching five innings and allowing seven runs on seven hits and five walks while striking out six.
Gallen has been a breath of fresh air in an otherwise challenging season for Arizona, but he simply wasn't effective Saturday, yielding five runs over his first two innings en route to his second straight loss. The right-hander struggled mightily with his control, tying a season high with five walks -- four of which came in the first two innings -- and throwing only 56 of 98 pitches for strikes. He also gave up multiple home runs for the first time in 2020. Despite the rough outing, Gallen still holds a tidy 3.15 ERA and 1.10 WHIP on the season. He'll try to bounce back from the disappointing performance when he faces the Angels on the road Thursday.

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Notches quality start
Freeland hurled six innings against the Angels on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four. He did not factor in the decision.
Following two ugly outings between Aug. 28 and Sept. 2, Freeland has bounced back with consecutive quality starts. He held the Angels mostly at bay Saturday, giving up only one extra-base hit before departing in a tie game. The southpaw has pitched at least six innings in eight of his 10 starts this season and has registered a 3.54 ERA in spite of the aforementioned pair of rough outings. He'll next take the mound at home against the Dodgers on Thursday.

Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Impressive in no-decision
Urias pitched six innings against the Astros on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and four walks while striking out three. He did not factor in the decision.
Urias was wild in the outing, walking a season-high four, but he was otherwise excellent, yielding only three hits and limiting Houston to a single run. The quality start was the left-hander's third of the season and the second in his last three outings. He departed in line for a win but had to settle for a no-decision after Houston staged an improbable comeback in the ninth inning. Urias will carry a 3.53 ERA and 1.29 WHIP into his next start, currently scheduled for Thursday at Colorado.

Patrick Corbin SP | TOR
Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Tagged with tough loss
Corbin (2-5) took the loss Saturday against the Braves despite giving up two runs on nine hits with eight strikeouts and zero walks over seven innings.
The nine hits allowed tied a season high for the veteran lefty, but he was able to limit the damage by giving up zero walks or extra-base hits. Corbin has a 4.10 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 50:15 K:BB through 52.2 innings and is set to pitch against the Marlins next weekend.
-
Ian Anderson RP | ATL
Braves' Ian Anderson: Throws seven scoreless innings
Anderson (3-0) earned the win Saturday at Washington after allowing one hit with nine strikeouts and three walks across seven scoreless innings.
The walks are somewhat of an issue as the 22-year-old issued at least three walks for the second straight contest, but he was otherwise dominant Saturday. Anderson has a 1.64 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 27:10 K:BB through his first four big-league starts (22 innings), and he lines up to pitch against the Mets next weekend.
