Zack Wheeler SP | PHI
Phillies' Zack Wheeler: Struggles in middle innings
Wheeler (4-2) allowed four runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out eight across seven innings as he took the loss against the Rays on Saturday.
Wheeler did not allow a runner in scoring position until two outs in the fourth and proceeded to allow that baserunner to score after Yoshi Tsutsugo hit a bloop single into center to tie the game at 1-1. The 30-year-old ran into more trouble the following inning, as he allowed six batters to reach base, resulting in three more runs for the Rays. Despite the mid-game struggles, Wheeler completed seven innings while throwing 118 pitches as the Phillies were hopeful they could stray away from their horrendous bullpen for as long as possible. Wheeler will end his breakout 2020 regular season with a 2.92 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 53:16 K:BB across 71 inninngs.

Johnny Cueto SP | LAA
Giants' Johnny Cueto: Posts quality start despite loss
Cueto (2-3) was tagged with the loss Saturday against the Padres. He gave up three runs on five hits and one walk while fanning four across 6.1 innings.
Cueto got off to a strong start this season but ends the year on the wrong foot, allowing three or more runs in each of his last three starts. The veteran posted a 6.65 ERA in four September appearances and ends the year with a career-worst 5.40 ERA in 63.1 innings across 12 starts. He has now posted an ERA above the 5.00 mark in each of his last two seasons.

Zach Davies SP | WAS
Padres' Zach Davies: Tosses three scoreless frames
Davies didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's game between the Padres and the Giants. He tossed three scoreless innings, giving up three hits while fanning three.
Davies was widely expected to pitch this game on a short leash and that's exactly what happened, as he only tossed 51 pitches (32 strikes) through three innings in what was his first no-decision of the campaign. He finished the season with a career-best 2.73 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP -- another career best -- in 69.1 innings across 12 starts. Davies is lined up to take the ball in Game 2 of the NL Wild Card Round next week.

Tony Gonsolin RP | KC
Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin: Gives up four runs in win
Gonsolin (2-2) earned the win Saturday against the Angels. He allowed four runs on seven hits while fanning six across six innings.
Gonsolin gave up a season-worst four runs in his final start of the regular season, but he still earned the win as the offense backed him up. Gonsolin ends the regular season with a 2.31 ERA and 0.84 WHIP in nine appearances (eight starts), besting what he did during the 2019 season when he posted a 2.93 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP across 11 appearances (six starts).

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Earns win over Diamondbacks
Marquez (4-6) earned the win Saturday against Arizona after allowing three runs (none earned) on five hits and one walk while fanning seven across seven innings.
Marquez ended the season on a strong note, allowing two or fewer earned runs in four of five September starts while notching a quality start in each one of those contests. The 25-year-old right-hander ended the campaign with a career-best 3.75 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP in 81.2 innings across 13 starts. He has posted a WHIP under the 1.30 mark in three straight seasons.

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Takes tough loss Saturday
Wainwright (5-3) allowed three runs on eight hits (two home runs) and a walk while striking out three across 6.2 innings Saturday as he was dealt the loss against the Brewers.
Wainwright was humming along until the fourth when he surrendered back-to-back solo home runs to Ryan Braun and Daniel Vogelbach that give the Brewers a 2-0 lead. He was able to keep them off the board until the seventh, when Omar Narvaez singled home Orlando Arcia to extend the Brewers' lead to 3-0. Saturday's loss marked the first time that Wainwright has dropped consecutive starts this season; however, the veteran has enjoyed a nice bounceback campaign in which he posted a 3.15 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 54:15 K:BB across 65.2 regular-season innings.

Brandon Woodruff SP | MIL
Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Strikes out 10 in must-win start
Woodruff (3-5) tossed eight scoreless innings of two-hit baseball Saturday against the Cardinals as he picked up his third win of the season. He walked one batter and struck out 10 in the outing.
Woodruff kept the Brewers' playoff hopes alive Saturday with a dominant performance against the division-rival Cardinals. The right-hander came into the game with the fourth-highest fastball velocity in the National League at 96.4 MPH and was blowing pitches by the Cardinal hitters while occasionally topping out the heater at 98. Woodruff lasted eight innings for the first time in 2020 while recording double-digit punchouts for the second time this month. He'll end the regular season with a 3.05 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 91:18 K:BB across 73.2 innings.

Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Mets' Jacob deGrom: Reaches century mark in Ks
DeGrom didn't factor into the decision in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out 10.
It's the fifth time in 12 starts deGrom has fanned 10 or more batters. The right-hander put together another Cy Young-worthy campaign in 2020, posting a 2.38 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 104:18 K:BB through 68 innings, but a lack of consistent run support from the Mets left him with only four wins.
-
Trevor Rogers SP | BAL
Marlins' Trevor Rogers: Delivers three scoreless frames
Rogers gave up two hits and one walk over three scoreless innings during Saturday's loss to the Yankees. He struck out four and didn't factor in the decision.
The 22-year-old has struggled to find much consistency in 2020, but he had no issues during Saturday's short outing. Rogers will finish his rookie campaign with seven starts and a 6.11 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 39:13 K:BB over 28 innings.

Luis Castillo SP | CHW
Reds' Luis Castillo: Takes loss in Minnesota
Castillo (4-6) allowed four runs on six hits over four innings in a loss to the Twins on Saturday. He struck out four and did not issue a walk.
Castillo had a bit of a letdown performance after the Reds clinched a postseason berth Friday night. He allowed four extra-base hits (all doubles), the most he's allowed in a start this season, but Castillo was smiling throughout and seemed just fine, albeit not completely dialed in. The win-loss record does not do Castillo's 2020 regular season justice -- he was one of the best pitchers in the National League by any other measure. The right-hander lines up to start Game 2 for Cincinnati in the wild-card round.
