Oviedo (0-2) took the loss Friday, allowing two runs on two hits and five walks over two innings as the Cardinals fell 5-4 to the Padres.

Making his fourth start, Oviedo struggled with his control, loading the bases with no outs in the third inning. He's struggled as a spot starter for St. Louis and isn't a viable fantasy option until he can find the plate with more consistency.

Musgrove (3-4) won Friday's 5-4 bout with St. Louis, going five innings and allowing one run on five hits and four walks with five strikeouts.

It was far from a clean outing for Musgrove as he allowed multiple baserunners in four of five innings and permitted a season-high four walks, but he was still able to pick up the win while allowing a single run. It was his first win since the beginning of April, when he recorded a no-hitter, so perhaps this could be a turning point for the righty.

Alcantara (1-3) took the loss Friday, allowing eight runs on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 1.1 innings in a 9-6 loss.

After an easy first, Alcantara surrendered eight baserunners while only recording one out in the second. This was the only start that the 2019 All-Star has allowed more than four runs or pitched fewer than five innings, keeping him as one of baseball's more consistent starters.

Kershaw (6-3) went six innings Friday, allowing five runs on six hits and one walk with 11 strikeouts in the Dodgers' 9-6 victory over the Marlins.

The Dodgers gave Kershaw an 8-0 lead after two innings, and although the veteran failed to shut down Miami's offense, he managed to limit the damage enough to earn the win. The 11 whiffs were a season high for the southpaw.

Marquez (2-4) earned the win over the Reds on Friday, allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out eight over six innings.

This performance represented a huge step forward from his last home outing May 4. Marquez was knocked around for eight runs in just two-thirds of an inning in that May 4 start, and that is going to skew his ERA for a while to come. The righty had not been great even before that blowup, but the strikeouts and groundballs are there. He remains a viable streaming option in most formats when he's on the road.

Miley (4-3) took the loss to the Rockies on Friday, allowing eight runs on 11 hits and three walks while striking out five over three innings.

On the heels of his no-hitter against Cleveland, Miley fell flat on his face in Colorado. The eight runs allowed matched Miley's total from his first six starts of the season combined. Pitching at altitude is difficult for any pitcher, but especially so for a pitcher with Miley's modest swing-and-miss abilities. He still has a 3.69 ERA after this hiccup.

Smyly (2-2) allowed one run on four hits and a walk over six innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over the Brewers.

Smyly yielded an RBI single to Luis Urias in the second inning but was never in much danger through the rest of his solid outing. After he was hammered for five runs in three straight starts, the 31-year-old lefty has allowed just one earned run over his last 12 innings. Smyly lowered his season ERA to 5.23 through 31 innings. He's currently lined up to face the Mets at home next week.

Houser (3-4) allowed two runs on two hits and five walks over three innings Friday, striking out three and taking a loss against Atlanta.

Three of Houser's five walks came during the third inning before Austin Riley plated a pair of runs with a single. He threw just 32 of 65 pitches for strikes in his shortest outing of the season. The 28-year-old righty now owns a 3.63 ERA and a 34:16 K:BB. Houser is projected to take the mound in Cincinnati next weekend.

Velasquez allowed a run on three hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in 5.2 innings versus Toronto on Friday. He did not factor in the decision.

The 28-year-old only allowed a solo home run to Vladimir Guerrero in the sixth, but the Phillies' offense didn't score while he was on the mound. Velasquez has allowed just one run in each of his last three starts, but he has just one win in that span. The right-hander sports a 3.68 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 37:19 K:BB across 29.1 innings. He is tentatively scheduled for a home start versus Miami next week.

Peterson allowed two runs on four hits and two walks with nine strikeouts in 7.1 innings Friday versus Tampa Bay. He did not factor in the decision.

Peterson was strong over seven innings, but he ran out of steam in the eighth. He allowed a solo home run to Mike Zunino, then let Kevin Padlo aboard with a double. Reliever Trevor May allowed the inherited runner to score, denying Peterson a decision. The 25-year-old lowered his ERA to 4.86 after his longest start of the year. He's added a 1.26 WHIP and 41:13 K:BB in 33.1 innings. Peterson lines up to face Atlanta next week.
