Cavalli has posted a 3.80 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 32:17 K:BB across 21.1 innings (four starts) since being promoted to Double-A Harrisburg.

The strikeout rate is nothing short of fantastic and he's still doing a great job limiting hits and homers, but Cavalli has struggled with walks against the more selective hitters in Double-A. Even so, it's hard not to be impressed that he's struck out a total of 103 batters in 62 innings while allowing just two home runs all season. If he can fine-tune his command over the remainder of the campaign, he'll certainly remain on track to make his MLB debut next season.

Meyer is 4-1 with a 1.69 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 54:27 K:BB across 11 starts for Double-A Pensacola.

He's given up one or zero runs in nine of those starts, but even so, Meyer doesn't appear quite ready for the big leagues. He's pitched around a 4.5 BB/9 successfully in Double-A, but that'll be much harder to do at baseball's highest level. It seems like it'd be best for Meyer's development to remain in the minors, work on his command, and refine his changeup. With the Marlins mired in last place in the NL East, they have no reason to rush him.

Carrasco (hamstring) is scheduled to pitch one inning in a rehab game at High-A Brooklyn on Thursday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Since being acquired in January from Cleveland, Carrasco has been sidelined with a sore elbow and a torn hamstring, but he finally looks to be closing in on his Mets debut now that he's been cleared to move on to the final phase of his recovery program. Because of his lengthy layoff from game action, Carrasco will be eased back in Thursday with a light pitch count, and he'll gradually ramp up his workload from there. The Mets are loosely targeting early August for Carrasco to return from the 60-day injured list, assuming he endures no setbacks with the hamstring during the rehab assignment.

Rutledge (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with the Nationals' Florida Complex League affiliate Friday, giving up two runs on one hit and one walk while striking out one over one inning.

The appearance was Rutledge's first since May 21 after a sore right shoulder had kept him out of action for more than six weeks. The 22-year-old may need another outing or two in the FCL to build up his pitch count before he's activated from High-A Wilmington's 7-day injured list.

Freeland (finger) is listed as the Rockies' probable starting pitcher for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Freeland's final start of the first half July 9 against the Padres ended early due to a blister on his pitching hand, but the All-Star break will afford the southpaw plenty of time to recover. Assuming he's able to complete a bullpen session later this week without incident, he'll take the hill for the third game of the Rockies' series with the Dodgers.

Mikolas (forearm) has resumed throwing bullpen sessions and appears to be on target for starting a rehab assignment in late July, the team's official site reports.

The veteran right-hander has encouragingly been able to get through the resumption of his bullpen sessions without setbacks, but the Cardinals, wary of his recent injury history, will be cautions. Mikolas is expected to pitch consecutive outings with lower pitch counts during his rehab assignment before his volume is boosted, which means he'll likely be deemed ready for activation before he's been built up to a full starter's workload.

Suarez earned the save Sunday against the Red Sox after firing 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and two walks while fanning four.

It was an unconventional save for Suarez, who recorded the final seven outs of the game with 45 pitches (27 strikes). Suarez now has two saves this season while striking out six across 3.1 innings in those two outings. However, he has gone just 2-for-4 in save chances during the 2021 season. The fact he owns an impressive 0.83 ERA across 32.2 innings this year would seem to suggest there might be more late-inning duties for him in the future, though.

Sanchez (1-0) earned the win in relief Sunday against the Red Sox after allowing one run on four hits and a walk across three innings, fanning two.

Sanchez worked behind opener Brandon Kintzler, who only tossed one inning, and he limited the damage just enough to come away with his first win of the campaign. This was just Sanchez's second appearance of the season and he's not expected to play a big role out of the bullpen moving forward.

Gonsolin did not qualify for the decision in Sunday's 7-4 win against Arizona, allowing one run on four hits and one walk with six strikeouts.

Gonsolin permitted his lone run via a Stephen Vogt home run in the fourth. Manager Dave Roberts is looking to stretch the right-hander back to a full starter's workload, with Gonsolin tossing a season-high 83 pitches Sunday. He enters the season's midway point with six starts in eight appearances and a 2.13 ERA, though a 3.41 FIP suggests regression is looming.

Lodolo struck out one and was credited with a hold during a perfect inning of relief for the National League team in its 8-3 win over the American League during Sunday's 2021 All-Star Futures Game.

Lodolo was sidelined for most of June due to blisters on his pitching hand, but he was cleared to return to action Tuesday to make one final tune-up start at Double-A Chattanooga before heading to Colorado for the Futures Game. After a solid two-inning showing Tuesday, Lodolo impressed against higher-level competition Sunday, retiring the side on 13 pitches. He'll transition back into a starting role as he heads back to Chattanooga, with whom he's posted an 0.84 ERA and 0.78 WHIP across 32 innings this season.
