The Reds officially placed Lorenzen (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Monday.

Lorenzen sustained the injury during his first appearance of the season Saturday, after a shoulder strain had kept him on the shelf for the entire first half. He'll presumably require a shorter period of time to recover from the hamstring injury, but the Reds have yet to offer a concrete timeline for his return to the big club. The Reds called up R.J. Alaniz from Triple-A Louisville to take Lorenzen's spot on the active roster and in the bullpen.

The Cardinals recalled Woodford from Triple-A Memphis ahead of his scheduled start Monday against the Cubs in St. Louis.

Outfielder Lars Nootbaar was optioned to Memphis in a corresponding move. Woodford's previous 17 appearances with the big club came as a reliever, but he's spent the past three weeks getting stretched out for starting duty in the minors. In his most recent outing July 13 against Norfolk, Woodford covered five innings and tossed 83 pitches, so he shouldn't face any significant restrictions with his workload Monday. Woodford tentatively lines up for a two-start week, with his second turn set to come Saturday in Cincinnati.

The Marlins optioned Garrett to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

Miami called Garrett up and designated him as its 27th man for Sunday's game against the Phillies, which was proceeded by a resumption of the contest Saturday that was suspended in the top of the 10th inning. Garrett drew his third start of the season for the Marlins in the series finale, working 4.1 innings and giving up three runs (two earned) en route to taking a no-decision in the 7-4 loss. Though the Marlins still have two open spots in the rotation with Pablo Lopez (shoulder) recently joining Cody Poteet (knee) on the injured list, Garrett apparently didn't impress enough to receive another turn this weekend versus the Padres. The Marlins would need to place another player on the IL in a corresponding move in order for Garrett to be eligible to rejoin the big club within 15 days.

Burnes tossed 8.1 scoreless innings and picked up the win in Sunday's victory over the Reds. He allowed five hits and posted a 12:1 K:BB in the contest.

Burnes started for the first time since tossing two innings in the All-Star Game, and he picked up right where he left off at the end of the first half, limiting the opposition to one earned run or fewer for the fourth straight start. Burnes has lowered his ERA from 2.62 to 2.16 since the beginning of that stretch, and with him punching out 12 batters Sunday, he is now tied for fifth in the league with 140 strikeouts.

Atlanta recalled Muller from Triple-A Gwinnett ahead of his scheduled start Monday against the Padres.

As expected, Muller will slot back into the Atlanta rotation for the second half after he was sent back to Gwinnett on July 4 only because he wasn't scheduled to make another start prior to the All-Star break. The 23-year-old lefty found success over his first three big-league starts, allowing four runs on five hits and eight walks while striking out 19 in 14.2 innings. He should have a relatively long leash in the Atlanta rotation while all of Ian Anderson (shoulder), Huascar Ynoa (hand) and Tucker Davidson (forearm) are on the injured list.

Cueto allowed one run on two hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings Sunday against the Cardinals. He did not factor into the decision.

Cueto's lone mistake came in the third inning when he surrendered a solo home run to Paul DeJong, giving the Cardinals an early 1-0 lead. The 35-year-old certainly pitched well enough for the win but the Giants went cold for a second straight game, managing only a run. Cueto has had some trouble with the long ball. He allowed just two over his first eight starts but has given up 10 over his last seven. He'll take a 4.01 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 70:16 K:BB into his next start, which is projected to be at home against the Pirates this week.

Davies allowed two earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out three over 4.2 innings on Sunday in the loss to the Diamondbacks. He did not factor into the decision.

Davies managed to surrender just two runs, but it could have been much worse. He stranded the bases loaded with no outs after a run scored in the fourth frame and found himself stuck in another bases-loaded jam in the fifth inning. Davies walked another four batters, continuing his streak for worst BB/9 among qualifying pitchers in all of baseball with a 4.8. Sunday was his sixth start where he walked more batters than he struck out. The 28-year-old carries a 4.35 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP in 97.1 innings this season.

Kelly (6-7) allowed four earned runs on six hits while striking out six across eight innings, earning the win over the Cubs on Sunday.

Kelly pitched into the ninth inning, but he allowed an extra pair of runs without recording an out before being pulled. It was his longest start of the season and it took him only 82 pitches to get into the ninth frame. The 32-year-old has had a strong command of his arsenal lately, walking just three batters in his last 38.2 innings. He's gone 4-0 during that stretch. On the season, he has a 4.46 ERA and a 7.6 K/9 in 117 innings.

Wheeler (7-5) allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven in six innings to earn the win against the Marlins on Sunday.

Wheeler has now given up four earned runs in each of his last two starts, but he got ample run support from the Phillies and picked up his seventh win of the year Sunday. The right-hander has been somewhat inconsistent recently, and he's posted a 2.28 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 43.1 innings across his last seven outings. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against Atlanta on Saturday.

Garrett allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks while striking out two in 4.1 innings in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Phillies. He didn't factor into the decision.

Garrett was called up from Triple-A Jacksonville ahead of Sunday's game. The Phillies scored four runs in the fifth and sixth innings, which forced the southpaw to settle for the no-decision. The 23-year-old has now posted a 5.17 ERA and 1.91 WHIP in 15.2 innings across four major-league appearances (three starts) this year. If Garrett remains in the rotation, he tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Padres on Friday.
