Toussaint will start Sunday's series finale in Philadelphia.

Atlanta is short on healthy rotation options, and Toussaint fared well in his 2021 debut Tuesday against San Diego (one run allowed on three hits and two walks over 6.2 innings), so it comes as little surprise that he'll receive his second start of the week. Though he secured a win Tuesday, Toussaint will likely need to show improved efficiency if he's to find continued success. He pumped in only 48 of his 79 pitches against San Diego for strikes.

Snell (4-3) allowed a run on three hits and three walks while striking out eight in six-plus innings to earn the win Thursday over Miami.

The 28-year-old completed six innings for just the third time in 18 starts this year. In his three longest starts, he's allowed a combined two runs. Snell was on the hook for one of Miami's two runs in the seventh inning, but he got a well-earned win Thursday. Overall, he's struggled to a 4.93 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 104:51 K:BB through 80.1 innings this season. He continues to walk batters at an alarming rate of 5.7 BB/9, which has led to shorter outings due to high pitch counts. Snell projects to make his next start at home versus Oakland next week.

Morton (9-3) allowed two earned runs on four hits and four walks while striking out eight across six innings to earn the win Thursday against the Phillies.

Morton was given plenty of run support early, as Atlanta was up by six runs by the end of the fourth inning. He took advantage and was shutting out the Phillies until the seventh inning, when he surrendered a triple, double and walk prior to being pulled. Morton has been excellent in seven starts since June 17, as he's worked at least six innings in all but one outing while posting a 2.40 ERA and striking out 55 across 45 frames.

Kim (6-5) earned the win over the Cubs on Thursday. He allowed two runs on two hits and a walk while striking out seven in six innings.

Thursday was the first time Kim had allowed multiple runs in an appearances since June 25, which was also the last start he didn't win. The southpaw has yielded just three runs in 30 innings during his five-start winning streak. The run of dominance has lowered his ERA to 2.88 with a 1.17 WHIP and 67:28 K:BB through 84.1 innings this year. Kim projects for a road start in Cleveland next week.

Flaherty (oblique) threw his second bullpen session Thursday, Jim Hayes of Bally Sports Midwest reports.

Flaherty threw his second bullpen session within the last week, as he continues to progress back from a serious oblique strain. Manager Mike Shildt told reporters that Flaherty's next step will be facing live hitters, though he deferred providing further detail until Friday.

Sanchez underwent season-ending right shoulder surgery in Los Angeles on Tuesday, David Wilson of the Miami Herald reports.

Dr. Neal ElAttrache supervised the procedure, which repaired a capsule tear and cleaned out the backside of Sanchez's shoulder joint. Marlins general manager Kim Ng said that Sanchez doesn't have a timeline to resume throwing or performing workouts with his right arm, but the organization is hopeful that the prized 22-year-old will be ready to go for Opening Day in 2022. Sanchez looked like a potential frontline starter when he received his first taste of the big leagues in 2020, producing a 3.46 ERA and 33:11 K:BB in 39 innings over his seven starts with Miami.

DeGrom (forearm) threw off flat ground at Citi Field on Thursday, SNY reports.

DeGrom has been on the injured list since Sunday due to right forearm tightness, but he's been improving recently while shut down from throwing. The Mets were insistent that the right-hander wouldn't resume throwing until his forearm tightness had completely dissipated, so it appears as though he's in a good place in his recovery. A better idea of deGrom's return timetable could come into focus once he's able to ramp up his intensity.

Gomber (7-5) picked up the win in Wednesday's 6-3 victory over the Mariners, allowing three runs on three hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out three.

Making his first start since June 19 after he dealt with some forearm tightness, Gomber delivered his ninth quality start of the season, but things could have been much worse for the lefty as all three hits he gave up left Coors Field for solo shots. He's served up multiple homers four times in 16 starts this season, but remarkably this was the first such performance at home for the 27-year-old. Gomber will carry a 3.74 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 79:24 K:BB through 84.1 innings into his next outing.

Lauer didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Royals, giving up two unearned runs on three hits over five innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

The southpaw exited the game in line for the win with the Brewers ahead 3-2, but Brent Suter immediately coughed three unearned runs in the sixth inning. Lauer hadn't had an outing of at least five innings with zero free passes since May 4, and his efficiency remains the biggest obstacle between him and a breakout. On the season, he sports a 3.52 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 60:24 K:BB through 61.1 innings.

Urias got a no-decision in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to San Francisco, allowing one run on three hits and a walk with five strikeouts in seven innings.

Urias surrendered a first-inning home run to Mike Yastrzemski but settled down thereafter, permitting just three baserunners all game moving forward. Unfortunately for the young lefty, the typically reliable Kenley Jansen gave up two home runs in the ninth to blow the lead and erase Urias' potential league-leading 13th victory. He lines up to face the Giants again early next week.
