Gibson (8-5) was tagged with the loss Tuesday against the Diamondbacks after allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks across six innings, fanning five.

Gibson has dropped his last two starts and five of his last seven overall, but he hasn't been pitching as bad as a 2-5 record in that span would indicate. In fact, he has given up three or fewer runs in four of his last five appearances while posting four quality starts during that span. Aside from a woeful start against the Dodgers earlier this month in which he gave up six runs across 4.1 innings, he has been a steady presence in the rotation since being acquired before the deadline. He owns a 4.70 ERA in four starts with the Phillies.

Kelly, who was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Sunday, is symptomatic, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Kelly is "grinding through some of these tough early days" of the illness. This sets a potential return date in limbo, leaving the projected rotation uncertain. Luke Weaver (shoulder) will be making a minor-league rehab start Friday, so a return to the rotation for Caleb Smith or a fill-in start for Matt Peacock may be the stop-gap measure.

Gutierrez (8-4) was charged with the loss Tuesday against the Cubs after allowing two runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out seven across 6.1 innings.

Despite snapping his own four-start winning streak, Gutierrez turned in another strong outing, tossing at least six innings and allowing two or fewer earned runs for the fifth consecutive start. The right-hander's recent success has earned him a 3.02 ERA in his last eight performances. He's poised to take the mound again for a favorable matchup against Miami on Sunday.

Wainwright (11-7) allowed two earned runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out four across six innings, taking the loss to the Brewers on Tuesday.

Wainwright gave up a run in the second and third innings, but he didn't allow any further damage. The Brewers threatened to score almost every inning, but Wainwright was able to work out of multiple jams. He has provided six straight quality starts. In that stretch, he has a 2.09 ERA with 35 strikeouts in 43 innings. On the season, the veteran carries a 3.26 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 141 strikeouts in 154.2 innings pitched.

Burnes (8-4) allowed two hits and two walks while striking out three across six scoreless innings, earning the win over the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Burnes carried a no-hitter through 5.1 innings before allowing back-to-back singles. He was able to strand the pair of runners for his third straight quality start. The 26-year-old has a 1.55 ERA in 58.1 innings over his last nine starts. He only had a season-low three punchouts Tuesday, which lowered his high K/9 rate to 12.4. His next start projects for Sunday against the Nationals.

Marquez (11-9) allowed three runs on five hits and one walk with four strikeouts through 6.1 innings, getting the win in Tuesday's 7-3 victory over the Padres.

Everything was going swimmingly for Marquez on Tuesday until it wasn't. After blanking San Diego for six innings, the right-hander coughed up solo home runs to Fernando Tatis, Jake Cronenworth and Tommy Pham in the seventh. While the ending of his outing will no doubt leave a sour taste, Marquez's effort on the night was still good enough for a quality start and his 11th win. He remains the Rockies' workhorse and tentatively lines up to pitch next Monday against the Cubs.

Ynoa allowed three hits and one walk with four strikeouts across 5.1 scoreless innings Tuesday against the Marlins. He did not factor into the decision.

Ynoa was activated from the injured list Tuesday to make his first start since May 16. He showed little rust, holding the Marlins without an extra-base hit while also generating nine swinging strikes on 80 total pitches. Even with a three-month absence, Ynoa appears to be in the midst of a breakout as he has allowed one or fewer earned runs in six of his nine starts this season.

Alcantara (7-11) allowed one earned run on five hits and one walk while striking out seven across eight innings but took the loss Tuesday against Atlanta.

Alcantara allowed a one-out walk in the eighth inning, which turned into the the only run he allowed in the game. He dominated Atlanta otherwise, racking up 22 swinging strikes on 105 total pitches while also not allowing an extra-base hit. Alcantara has dominated of late. Even accounting for the 10 earned runs he allowed at Coors Field, he has allowed only 11 runs across his last 25.2 innings -- spanning four starts. For the season, Alcantara has a 3.39 ERA with 135 strikeouts across 151.1 frames.

Hendricks (14-5) tossed six innings of one-run ball to record the win Tuesday against the Reds. He allowed three hits and three walks while striking out three.

After a rough outing his last time out in which he allowed nine earned runs, this was a nice bounce-back effort for Hendricks, and it also helped snap a 12-game losing streak for the Cubs. The righty is unquestionably the ace of Chicago's staff, but he hasn't been as sharp this year compared to recent seasons. His current 4.04 ERA would be a new career worst, as he's been below 4.00 in each of his previous seven MLB campaigns. Hendricks still has time to whittle away at that figure, and he certainly will if he pitches like he did Tuesday night. Hendricks is tentatively lined up to make his next start Monday against the Rockies.

Manager Jayce Tingler said Tuesday that Darvish (back) is playing catch, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Darvish landed on the shelf with lower-back tightness over the weekend, so the fact he was never shut down from throwing bodes well for his recovery. The veteran right-hander will be eligible to be activated during the upcoming series against the Dodgers, which begins Aug. 24, though it's uncertain if he'll be ready to pitch by that point.
