Morton pitched seven innings against Miami on Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out seven. He did not factor in the decision.

Things looked bleak for the veteran hurler early on, as Miami tagged him for three runs through two innings. However, Morton rebounded by holding the Marlins to just two hits and no runs the rest of the way. The right-hander tossed 64 of 91 pitches for strikes and gave Atlanta seven innings for the second straight outing. He'll carry a 3.49 ERA into his next start, which is expected to come in San Francisco next weekend.

Buehler (14-3) got the win in Saturday's 5-4 victory over San Diego, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in seven innings.

After enduring his worst start of the season during his last time out, Buehler responded Saturday with a customary quality performance. The eight baserunners and five whiffs are subpar for the hard-throwing righty, but Buehler was able to limit the damage to a two-run Fernando Tatis home run and kept his pitch count in double digits. He currently lines up to pitch next in Cincinnati on Friday.

Mikolas did not factor in the decision against Cincinnati on Saturday, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk while striking out one over five innings.

The right-hander was mostly effective outside of the third inning, when he surrendered four runs on four hits, including a pair of homers. He didn't miss many bats, however, notching just one punchout and five swinging strikes. Mikolas has yet to pick up a win through six outings this season, and his 5.47 ERA along with subpar strikeout numbers make him an unexciting fantasy option. He's likely to next take the mound at home against the Padres on Friday.

Castillo hurled seven innings against St. Louis on Saturday, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out five. He did not factor in the decision.

The right-hander was staked to a four-run lead after three innings, but the Cardinals touched him up for a pair of runs in each of the third and sixth frames to erase the deficit. Castillo's streak of five straight quality starts was consequently snapped, though he did tie his season-high mark by completing seven innings. The 28-year-old hasn't taken a loss since Aug. 14, and he has brought an ERA that stood at 7.61 after 10 starts this season down to a respectable 4.24. Castillo's next outing is tentatively scheduled for Friday at home against the Dodgers.

Freeland (5-8) allowed four runs on five hits and four walks with three strikeouts in six innings, taking the loss Saturday versus Philadelphia.

The southpaw was cruising until he allowed three runs in the fourth inning and a solo shot to Jean Segura in the fifth. Freeland has given up 11 runs in his last 10.1 innings, taking losses in his last two starts. He was 4-0 across five outings in August, but regression has taken hold again. Freeland takes a 4.76 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 90:32 K:BB into next week's projected road start in Washington.

Wheeler (13-9) earned the win Saturday over Colorado. He allowed one run on four hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in 6.2 innings.

The 31-year-old has bounced back from a three-start losing streak in August to win his last three outings. Wheeler only gave up a solo home run to Trevor Story in the sixth inning Saturday. The right-hander has trimmed his ERA back down to 2.86 with a 1.01 WHIP and 225:42 K:BB across 195.1 innings in 29 starts. He'll look to keep rolling in a projected home start versus the Cubs next week.

Burnes pitched eight no-hit innings and struck out 14 while walking just one to earn the win Saturday versus Cleveland.

This marked the third time in 25 starts Burnes has gone at least eight innings while racking up double-digit strikeouts. His only mistake Saturday was a walk to Myles Straw. Josh Hader was able to keep the combined no-hitter intact with a perfect ninth inning for the save. Burnes is having a remarkable year with a 2.25 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 210:29 K:BB across 152 innings overall. He lines up for a home start versus the Cubs next weekend.

Davies (6-11) allowed five runs on four hits and three walks with one strikeout through two innings, taking the loss in Saturday's 15-4 defeat to the Giants.

Davies was one strike away from escaping a bases-loaded situation in the second unscathed, but a two-RBI single from Tommy La Stella and a subsequent three-run homer from Brandon Belt spelled the end of the right-hander's day. After compiling a 1.72 ERA in May and a 4.17 ERA over the course of June and July, Davies has a 8.73 ERA over eight starts in August and September. The long ball has haunted the impending free agent lately, as he's given up 14 home runs in his last eight starts. He conceded just 10 in his first 22 starts of the season.

Gausman (14-5) allowed three runs on eight hits and no walks with nine strikeouts through six innings, picking up the win in Saturday's 15-4 victory over the Cubs.

Gausman was rock solid yet again Saturday, as he yielded three runs in his first three innings but settled in over the next three to pick up the quality start. While the eight hits might strike the eye as a sizable number, half of them didn't leave the infield. The right-hander has now allowed three or fewer earned runs in nine straight starts and has won his last five decisions. He figures to pitch next Thursday against the Padres.

Overton was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday.

Overton was claimed off waivers by the Pirates on Monday, and he allowed no hits and a walk while striking out two in one scoreless inning during his lone appearance in Indianapolis. He tossed 6.2 scoreless innings across four relief appearances with the Blue Jays earlier in the year.
