Cueto (elbow) will report to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday for a rehab start, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Cueto went through a bullpen session Monday with no issues and will advance to a rehab assignment Thursday. Assuming all goes well, the 35-year-old should rejoin the Giants' rotation sometime next week.

Flaherty (shoulder) will start Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader against the Cubs, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Flaherty will have been sidelined exactly a month when he retakes the mound Friday, and he'll face some workload limitations since he wasn't able to build up to a full starter's workload during his rehab work. The 25-year-old will act as a pseudo-opener and is unlikely to pitch deep enough to qualify for a potential victory.

Rogers dropped to 7-8 after giving up four runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks across 5.1 innings in Tuesday's 7-1 loss to the Nationals. He tied his career high with 10 strikeouts in the outing.

Rogers will tentatively line up for two starts in the final week of the season, with the first of those outings set to come in the Marlins' Sept. 28 doubleheader in New York versus the Mets.

Miley won't make his next start until at least Monday's make-up game with the Pirates in Cincinnati after the Reds pushed him back in their pitching schedule while he manages a stiff neck, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

After Cincinnati had its series finale Wednesday with Pittsburgh postponed due to inclement weather, manager David Bell has elected to reorder the rotation. All of Luis Castillo, Sonny Gray, Vladimir Guerrero and Tyler Mahle will pick up starts in this weekend's series with the Nationals, so unless he's deployed out of the bullpen against Washington, Miley will go the entire week without pitching. The neck issue isn't viewed as a major concern, and Cincinnati may just want to skip Miley's turn as a result of his recent struggles. Over his last four outings, Miley has hammered for 18 runs (17 earned) in 18.1 innings while surrendering 36 hits, including seven long balls.

Overton is listed as the Pirates' starting pitcher for Thursday's game against the Phillies in Philadelphia, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Overton had been in line to serve as an opening pitcher as part of a bullpen game Wednesday against the Reds, but the contest was postponed due to inclement weather in Cincinnati. Though he'll get an extra day to rest up, Overton is still likely to have a restricted workload Thursday after he tossed an inning out of the bullpen in Monday's game against the Reds.

Brubaker began a plyometric training program last week, and he's now in the midst of a throwing program. Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk isn't sure whether the right-hander will have enough time to return during the regular season, but a better idea of his status should be revealed based on when he resumes mound work.

Toussaint was placed on the bereavement list Wednesday.

Toussaint has recently shifted to a bullpen role, and he'll now miss between three and seven games following his placement on the bereavement list due to the recent passing of his father. The team will likely have another bullpen game against the Padres on Sunday, when the fifth spot in Atlanta's rotation comes up again.

Overton is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Reds in what's expected to be a bullpen day for the Pirates, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

After he was capped at three innings (47 pitches) in his first MLB start Sept. 16 against the Reds, Overton then appeared out of the bullpen in Monday's series opener in Cincinnati, tossing a scoreless frame. Because he pitched just two days ago, Overton probably won't surpass the three innings he covered in his first start. As such, Overton is unlikely to factor into any decision Wednesday.
