Mahle (13-6) allowed one unearned run on three hits and two walks over six innings Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over Washington.

Mahle rolled through four shutout frames before Carter Kieboom scored on an error in the fifth. The 26-year-old righty has allowed three or fewer runs in four straight outings, lowering his season ERA to 3.54. He also owns a 204:62 K:BB through 175.2 frames. Mahle is projected to take the mound in Pittsburgh next weekend.

Gutierrez didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Nationals after allowing four runs on five hits and four walks across 2.2 innings, fanning three.

Gutierrez failed to complete four innings for the third appearance in a row, and he's gone winless over his last six contests as well. The right-hander has given up three or more runs in four of his five appearances in the current month, posting an 8.50 ERA across 18 innings in that stretch.

DeSclafani allowed two runs on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings, taking a no-decision versus Colorado on Saturday.

The right-hander kept the ball in the yard at Coors Field, so consider that a moral victory. He's allowed just one home run through 27 innings in five September starts. DeSclafani has pitched to a 3.26 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 149:42 K:BB through 162.2 innings this season. He's expected to make his last regular-season start during next weekend's series versus the Padres.

Toussaint (personal) was activated from the bereavement list Sunday and optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Toussaint spent the past few days on the bereavement list following the death of his father, and he'll now make his way to the minors. The 25-year-old has made 10 starts for Atlanta this season but was shifted to the bullpen just before being placed on the bereavement list.

Suarez (7-5) picked up the win Saturday, scattering four hits in a complete game shutout of the Pirates in a 3-0 victory. He struck out seven without walking a batter.

The 26-year-old southpaw put together the best start of his career, needing only 97 pitches (63 strikes) to go the distance for the first time. Suarez faced the minimum number of batters through six innings thanks to a couple double plays, and Pittsburgh never got a runner into scoring position all afternoon. Suarez has reeled off four straight quality starts and five in his last seven outings, posting a dazzling 1.43 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 45:8 K:BB through 44 innings over that stretch.

Kershaw (10-8) took the loss in Saturday's 7-2 defeat at the hands of the Diamondbacks, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk with three strikeouts in 4.1 innings.

Making his third start since returning from injury, Kershaw was knocked around early and often with a single run in each of the first, second, fourth and fifth innings. While it's encouraging to see the 2014 NL MVP ramping up his workload in preparation for the postseason, the outing was Kershaw's worst of his last eight appearances. He's currently scheduled to make one more start next Friday, though that could change depending on Los Angeles' playoff scenario.

Hill (6-8) allowed two runs on two hits and four walks while striking out six in five innings, taking the loss Saturday versus Milwaukee.

Hill is 0-4 in his Mets tenure, although he's rarely pitched poorly with his new team. He's allowed four or more runs just once in 12 appearances since he was traded from Tampa Bay. The 41-year-old has a 3.87 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 144:52 K:BB across 153.2 innings overall. Hill lines up for one more start this season, which projects as a home date versus Miami next week.

Burnes (11-4) allowed a run on five hits and a walk with nine strikeouts in seven innings, earning the win Saturday versus the Mets.

The right-hander was able to limit the Mets to Javier Baez's RBI single in the fourth inning. Burnes has recorded 18 quality starts in 27 outings this season, including in each of his last three starts. He owns a stellar 2.29 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 230:33 K:BB through 165 innings. The 26-year-old is in line to make his last regular-season start versus the Dodgers next weekend.

Gallen (3-10) got the win in Saturday's 7-2 victory over the Dodgers, allowing one run on three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in six innings.

Gallen was staked to an early lead and prevented Los Angeles from scoring until a Trea Turner sixth-inning home run. The outing was the 26-year-old's first permitting fewer than three runs in his last four turns, and he approached his season high of nine strikeouts. He's set to take the mound for the final time this season next Saturday against Colorado.

Alcantara (9-14) allowed three earned runs on nine hits and no walks with six strikeouts through six innings, taking the loss in Saturday's 7-3 defeat to the Rays.

Instead of being lights out as he had been over his prior three starts, Alcantara was merely fine against Tampa Bay. Five Rays crossed home under his watch, with the big blow coming via a two-run homer by Mike Zunino in the fifth inning. Alcantara emerged from the dugout to start the seventh, but found himself heading back to the bench rather quickly after giving up a single and an RBI double. With his six frames worked Saturday night, the right-hander presently trails only the Phillies' Zack Wheeler in innings pitched this season. The 26-year-old lines up for one more start, which projects to come against the Phillies on Friday.
