Gore is an option to fill in as a starter for the Padres since Blake Snell (groin) is likely heading to the 10-day injured list, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Gore failed to land a spot on the Padres' Opening Day roster in 2022, but he had a strong spring and allowed two hits and no walks while striking out seven in five scoreless innings during his season debut at Triple-A El Paso on Saturday. While manager Bob Melvin hasn't indicated that Gore will fill in as a starter, the southpaw would be available on full rest to make his major-league debut at home against Atlanta on Friday, which was when Snell lined up to make his next start.

Snell was scratched from Sunday's start against Arizona due to adductor tightness, and he'll be forced to miss at least a week and a half. The southpaw dealt with a similar issue last season, but Melvin said that Snell's current injury isn't nearly as serious. Nabil Crismatt took his place as Sunday's starter, but MacKenzie Gore is a candidate to be called up to take Snell's place in the rotation.

Carrasco allowed one run on two hits over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against the Nationals on Sunday. He struck out five and did not issue a walk.

Nelson Cruz greeted Carrasco with a long ball in the first inning, but Carrasco was fantastic after that. He allowed just a single the rest of the way and finished his outing retiring 15 batters in a row. He fed Washington a steady diet of offspeed pitches and looks like a strong fantasy option for next week's scheduled home matchup against the Diamondbacks.

Anderson (0-1) took the loss against the Reds on Sunday, allowing five runs on three hits and five walks over 2.2 innings. He struck out one batter.

Anderson had little feel for the strike zone in this one, throwing just 39 of his 74 pitches for strikes. Command and control have always been a question with Anderson, but he's been able to work around those issues for the most part through 31 career MLB starts. On paper anyway, next week's scheduled outing in San Diego looks like a good spot for the 23-year-old to get right.

Greene (1-0) picked up the win in Atlanta on Sunday in his big-league debut, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings.

The moment was not too big for the 22-year-old. He lit up the radar gun, as advertised, routinely touching triple digits with his fastball, and Greene also had solid command of his slider and changeup. He induced 14 swinging strikes on 92 pitches, working around a couple homers to beat the defending World Series champs. Greene famously was on the cover of Sports Illustrated at age 17 before he was drafted second overall by the Reds, and it's easy to dream on the upside with his stuff. The right-hander will face another tough test in the Dodgers next week in Los Angeles.

Snell was scratched from Sunday's start against the Diamondbacks with left adductor tightness.

Snell was confirmed as the starter for Sunday's contest earlier in the day, and it didn't become apparent that he wasn't starting until Nabil Crismatt took the mound to start warming up. Snell missed time down the stretch last year with a similar injury, though the severity of the issue this time around remains unclear.

Mejia was outrighted to Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

Mejia was designated for assignment Thursday, but he went unclaimed on waivers. He'll stick with the organization as a result and is likely to have a role in the rotation with Triple-A Reno.

Cabrera (biceps) was placed on the minor-league injured list Sunday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

This is concerning news, not only because it is an arm injury, but also because Cabrera had a biceps issue in the spring of 2021. It's unclear how long he may be sidelined, though any return to the majors will certainly be delayed.

Davies didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Padres after allowing two runs on four hits and three walks across five innings. He struck out three.

Davies was just three outs away from posting a quality start in an outing during which 43 of his 75 pitches went for strikes. He's looking to rebound from a 2021 season in which he posted a 5.78 ERA across 32 starts with the Cubs, and while he was far from perfect in this one and recorded more walks than strikeouts, it was still a decent performance as he limited the damage. Davies is expected to make his next start against the Mets next week.

Musgrove didn't factor into the decision Saturday against Arizona after allowing two runs on five hits while striking out eight across six innings.

Musgrove was extremely sharp from a command perspective since 53 of his 74 pitches were strikes. While he couldn't deliver a clean outing, at least he posted a quality start -- something that hasn't happened often in the early days of the season. The veteran is coming off the best season of his career after posting a 3.18 ERA across 181.1 innings in 2021.
