Megill (4-1) allowed three earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out nine across 5.1 innings to take the loss Tuesday against Atlanta.

Megill didn't allow a hit through four innings -- though he did walk two batters -- but he began to struggle in the latter portions of his outing. He exited the game with the bases loaded and all three of those runners ultimately came around to score, which resulted in his first loss of the season. Despite the disappointing end to his start, Megill still generated 15 swinging strikes on 94 total pitches. He also still maintains a strong 2.45 ERA backed by a 35:8 K:BB across his first 33 innings on the campaign.

Wainwright (3-3) earned the win Wednesday in Kansas City after allowing one hit with two strikeouts and one walk across seven scoreless innings.

The veteran right-hander threw 60 of his 89 pitches for strikes but generated only eight swinging strikes, which resulted in a season-low two punchouts. The lack of whiffs didn't matter much Wednesday, as Wainwright allowed only one single and induced 15 groundball outs. The 40-year-old has a 3.18 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 28:13 K:BB over 34 innings this season, and he next lines up to pitch Tuesday versus the Orioles.

Anderson (3-1) allowed one earned run on five hits and four walks while striking out one to earn the win Wednesday against the Mets.

Anderson allowed a hitter to reach base in every inning, but he benefitted from a pair of double plays and other timely outs to escape without significant damage. Most concerning was his inability to consistently find the strike zone, as he issued four free passes and has walked three or more batters in three of his five starts. As a result, he's managed only an 18:15 K:BB across the first 24.2 innings of his season, a mark he'll need to improve upon to maintain his 4.01 ERA moving forward.

Ashby is scheduled to start Sunday's game in Atlanta, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The 23-year-old pitched in long relief Tuesday behind Brandon Woodruff and delivered 2.1 scoreless frames, and he'll rejoin the rotation this weekend. The Brewers apparently want to keep their starters on a six-day pitching schedule, and Ashby will bounce between the bullpen and rotation as needed. The left-hander has pitched well early in 2022 with a 2.33 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 22:13 K:BB across 19.1 innings.

Manager David Bell said Castillo (shoulder) is "penciled in" to return from the 10-day injured list to start in the Reds' series opener Monday against the Brewers in Cincinnati, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Castillo will likely be confirmed to make his season debut Monday once he completes a bullpen session over the weekend. Bell's comments on the right-hander's upcoming return came shortly after Castillo dominated in his third minor-league rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A Louisville. He worked 4.1 innings and tossed 76 pitches (48 strikes) in the outing, striking out seven while giving up zero runs on three hits and two walks. Castillo should be in line for about a 90-to-100-pitch workload when he returns from the IL next week.

Castillo tossed 48 of his 76 pitches for strikes in the start and generally steered clear of trouble during the afternoon. Given his workload and how effectively he pitched Wednesday, Castillo is likely to come off the 10-day injured list to make his next start with the Reds. He tentatively lines up to start Monday's series opener against the Brewers in Cincinnati, though it's possible the Reds extend him an extra day of rest before clearing him for his season debut.

Gonsolin is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Giants, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Since Los Angeles had two off days this week, manager Dave Roberts didn't immediately commit to having Gonsolin pick up his start this week, but he'll end up staying on turn in the rotation. He's been sharp through his first four starts this season, submitting a 1.59 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 13:8 K:BB across 17 innings.

Priester (oblique) has been cleared to throw off the slope of a mound, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Priester had been increasing his throwing distance recently, and he's now begun progressing toward mound work. A timetable for his return to game action hasn't yet been revealed, but he'll presumably need to build up during bullpen sessions before he's cleared for games.

Marquez (0-2) took the loss Tuesday as the Rockies fell 10-2 to the Nationals, surrendering seven runs on 10 hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out five.

Homers by Josh Bell in the third inning and Juan Soto in the fifth accounted for most of the damage off Marquez, who got the hook after 77 pitches (53 strikes). The right-hander has served up six long balls in only 26 innings so far, but all six have come at Coors Field, offering some hope his numbers will come down once he sees more action on the road. Marquez will carry a 6.92 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 19:6 K:BB into his next outing.

Lugo gave up a hit in a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday to record his second save of the season in the second game of a doubleheader sweep of Atlanta.

Edwin Diaz notched the save in the matinee while Adam Ottavino picked up a hold, leaving closing duties in the nightcap to Lugo. Lugo has reeled off six straight scoreless appearances, lowering his ERA to 3.48 and his WHIP to 1.35, and he also has four holds in addition to his pair of saves from his 11 appearances. The 32-year-old remains one of the Mets' primary setup options, but should anything happen to Diaz, Lugo would likely step into the closer role.
