Freeland allowed five earned runs on six hits and three walks while striking out three across four innings Thursday against the Padres. He did not factor into the decision.

Freeland was given five runs of support, but he squandered the chance for a win. His recent struggles continued, and he's now allowed 15 earned runs across his last 16 innings and three starts -- two of which came on the road. For the season, Freeland has a 4.96 ERA and 69:32 K:BB across 101.2 frames.

Castillo allowed one earned run on two hits and four walks while striking out eight Thursday against the Yankees. He did not factor into the decision.

Castillo threw 114 pitches to complete seven innings for his third consecutive start. He's been excellent in that span, maintaining a 1.29 ERA with a 22:6 K:BB across 21 frames. Castillo now owns a 2.77 ERA with a 82:27 K:BB across 78 innings for the season and remains a prime trade candidate ahead of the Aug. 2 deadline.

Snell allowed five earned runs on four hits and six walks while striking out five across 3.2 innings Thursday against the Rockies. He did not factor into the decision.

Snell looked sharp in the first inning, retiring the side in order. However, that was the highlight of his outing as he proceeded to give up a season-high six walks and five earned runs. Coors Field does offer some excuse for the poor effort, particularly because Snell entered Thursday's start having allowed only two earned runs across his last 11 innings and two starts. However, he still has a 5.22 ERA and 66:31 K:BB across 50 innings on the season.

Williams allowed three hits and struck out four in three scoreless innings to earn the save in Thursday's 8-0 win over the Cubs.

Williams has bounced between the rotation and the bullpen this year. Three of his last four appearances came as a starter, but the return of Chris Bassitt from the COVID-19-related injured list looks to have sent Williams back to a long-relief role. He excelled in that usage Thursday, throwing two perfect frames before escaping a bases-loaded jam he created in the ninth. This was his first big-league save, as he has far more experience as a starter than as a reliever. He's pitched to a steady 3.56 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 53:14 K:BB in 55.2 innings overall. With Jacob deGrom likely back shortly after the All-Star break, Williams looks likely to be in the bullpen for the foreseeable future.

Garrett allowed two hits and two walks while striking out 11 across six scoreless innings Thursday against the Pirates. He did not factor into the decision.

Garrett dominated the Pirates and struck out a career-high 11 batters on the strength of 23 swinging strikes across 102 total pitches. After completing at least five innings only once in his first five starts this season, Garrett has done so in each of his last three outings. In that same three-start span, he's maintained a 1.89 ERA with an 18:4 K:BB across 19 frames.

Carrasco (10-4) allowed five hits and two walks with six strikeouts across six shutout innings to earn the win Thursday over the Cubs.

The Mets took the lead in the first inning, and Carrasco's strong pitching kept the Cubs from keeping up. This was the right-hander's first quality start since June 17, though he fell just one out short in each of his first two outings of July. Thursday marked the fourth time he's kept runs off the board in 18 starts overall, and Carrasco finished the first half of the season with a 4.27 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 100:26 K:BB across 99 innings.

Meyer will be promoted to the majors and start a game during Miami's weekend series against the Phillies, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.

Meyer is one of the most highly-anticipated pitching prospects to make his debut in 2022. He is expected to start Saturday, though the team has not made any official announcement. Meyer has maintained a 3.72 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 65:19 K:BB across 58 innings with Triple-A Jacksonville this season.

Wright (11-4) earned the victory Thursday in Washington, striking out four in seven innings while allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk.

Wright allowed a first-inning homer to Josh Bell and gave up singles to the first three batters he faced in the second, leading to the second run against him. He held the Nationals scoreless over his final five frames, retiring the side in order three times. Over his last four starts including Thursday, the 26-year-old is 4-0 with a 2.16 ERA in 25 innings despite allowing four homers and having a 15:7 K:BB. He closes out the first half with a 2.95 ERA through 110 innings after posting a 6.56 ERA in 70 combined innings over his first four big-league seasons.

DeGrom (shoulder) threw four innings while allowing an unearned run and striking out four in a rehab appearance at Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

DeGrom added an extra inning to his workload from his previous rehab outing, and he needed only 42 pitches to complete his four innings. He is expected to throw a simulated game at some point during the All-Star break, and his status will be decided from there. Mike Puma of the New York Post reports that the team has discussed either July 24 or July 26 as potential days for deGrom to make his season debut.

Nola was reinstated from the restricted list Thursday.

Nola was unable to travel for the Phillies' two-game series at Toronto due to his vaccination status. He did not miss any starts and is projected to take the mound Sunday at Miami for the final game before the All-Star break.
