Senzatela was removed from Wednesday's start against the White Sox after being hit by a comebacker on the left foot in the top of the seventh inning, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.

Senzatela talked with trainers for several minutes before being removed from the game with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. Prior to his departure, he allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out five in 6.2 innings. The right-hander returned from a shoulder issue last week, but it's not yet clear whether his foot injury will force him to miss additional time.

Peterson isn't listed as a starting pitcher for any of the Mets' next four games, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

As a result of off days Monday and Thursday, the Mets are shortening their rotation to four men this week. Taijuan Walker took the mound for Tuesday's win over the Yankees, while Max Scherzer will take the hill in Wednesday's series finale on four days' rest. The Mets will then have Chris Bassitt, Carlos Carrasco and Walker pitch in their three games in Miami this weekend, leaving Peterson to work out of the bullpen like he did in last weekend's series with the Padres. New York will require a fifth starter beginning with next week's series in Washington, but Jacob deGrom (shoulder) looks like he'll be ready to return from the 60-day injured list to make his season debut by then. Unless the Mets lose another starter to an injury or if manager Buck Showalter expands the rotation to six men, Peterson looks like he'll be the odd man out.

The Reds promoted Petty from Single-A Daytona to High-A Dayton on Wednesday.

Petty, who was the main piece the Reds received in the March trade that sent Sonny Gray to Minnesota, will advance to Dayton after he submitted a 3.18 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 60:23 K:BB across 65 innings with Daytona.

Manager Buck Showalter said after deGrom's (shoulder) rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A Syracuse that he expects the right-hander to return from the 60-day injured list to make his next appearance with the big club, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

DeGrom's fourth rehab start and second in a row with Syracuse didn't go well from a results standpoint -- he served up four earned runs on four hits and three walks over four innings -- but Showalter noted that the two-time Cy Young Award winner "felt good" physically, which is the most important thing. Despite laboring through his four innings, deGrom struck out six batters and showed more efficiency late in the start than he did earlier in the day. He ultimately finished with 67 pitches, so he could face a slight workload restriction if he does in fact come off the IL to make his first start with the Mets since July 7, 2021. Anthony DiComo of MLB.com suggests Tuesday's game in Washington is the likely target for deGrom's debut in order to give him an extra day of rest beyond the standard four in between starts.

The Dodgers reinstated Heaney (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Nationals.

Heaney will get a soft landing spot in his return from the IL, taking on a 34-65 Nationals squad in the friendly confines of Dodger Stadium. The southpaw is coming off his second IL stint of the season on account of a left shoulder issue, and he could be limited to around 75 pitches Wednesday after building up to five innings in his most recent rehab start July 21 in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. According to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that the Dodgers will go with a five-man rotation following Heaney's return from the IL, so Mitch White was moved to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday after he had previously been serving as Los Angeles' No. 5 starter.

Small was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Small returned to the majors to start Tuesday's game against the Twins, and he allowed three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three in 3.2 innings. The Brewers have two scheduled days off approaching, so the Brewers could get by with a four-man rotation in the short term while Small heads back to the minors. Reliever Peter Strzelecki was recalled from Nashville in a corresponding move.

Nola (6-8) took the loss Tuesday, coughing up five runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings as the Phillies fell 6-3 to Atlanta. He struck out seven.

Five of the seven hits off Nola went for extra bases, including homers by Michael Harris and Matt Olson. The right-hander has been tagged for four or more runs in three of his last five starts, but he's maintained a solid fantasy floor by fanning at least seven batters in six of his last seven. On the season, Nola sports a 3.32 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and eye-popping 144:17 K:BB through 132.2 innings.

Strider (5-3) picked up the win in Tuesday's 6-3 victory over the Phillies, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

The rookie shut the Philadelphia offense down completely until serving up a solo shot to Kyle Schwarber in the sixth inning, but Atlanta already held a 5-0 lead at that point. Strider delivered his fourth quality start in his last six outings on a tidy 90 pitches (61 strikes), and he boasts a dazzling 2.20 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 48:9 K:BB through 32.2 innings over that stretch.

Greene (3-12) took the loss Tuesday, giving up two runs on nine hits and a walk over 6.1 innings as the Reds fell 2-1 to the Marlins. He struck out six.

The rookie right-hander turned in one of his better efforts of the season when it came to his control, firing 72 of 105 pitches for strikes, but aside from a Mike Moustakas solo shot Greene got no help from the Cincinnati offense. The quality start was his fifth of the season in 19 trips to the mound, and the 22-year-old will take an erratic 5.59 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 119:41 K:BB through 96.2 innings into his next outing.

Lopez (7-5) picked up the win in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over the Reds, allowing one run on two hits over seven innings. He struck out 11 without walking a batter.

A solo shot by Mike Moustakas in the fifth inning was the only real blemish on Lopez's line, as he racked up 18 swinging strikes among his 94 pitches en route to tying his career high with 11 Ks. It was his first quality start since July 3 and his eighth of the season, and the right-hander will take a 3.03 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 118:35 K:BB through 116 innings into what could be his final outing as a Marlin, if trade rumors are to be believed.
