May (elbow) allowed two hits and no walks while striking out six across three innings with Triple-A Oklahoma City in a rehab outing Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

May threw only 46 pitches, three fewer than his first rehab appearance. However, he added an extra inning of work and also showed improved control. May topped out at 99.9 mph, so his stuff appears to be trending in the right direction in his return from Tommy John surgery. He's due for at least one more rehab appearance and could return to the Dodgers in early August.

Lugo struck out three and allowed one hit over 1.2 scoreless innings to pick up the win Wednesday in the Mets' 3-2 victory over the Yankees.

Lugo has seen his effectiveness diminish since he was a dominant late-inning reliever for the Mets in 2019, but the right-hander looked as sharp Wednesday as he had been at any point this season. After recording five crucial outs to keep the score tied heading into the bottom of the ninth, Lugo was rewarded with the win when Starling Marte walked off the Yankees with an RBI single.

May (elbow) will make a rehab start at Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday and will require at least one more minor-league appearance afterward, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

May tossed 49 pitches during a rehab start last Friday and will ultimately require at least two more outings prior to rejoining the Dodgers. However, the right-hander will be re-evaluated following next week's appearance, so it's still possible that he'll be activated in early or mid-August.

Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Thursday that Malone's placement on Single-A Bradenton's 7-day injured list June 17 was due to shoulder soreness, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The 2022 season is shaping up to be a lost one for Malone, who was held back at extended spring training for the start of the minor-league campaign after an offseason illness set him back in his throwing progression. He was finally cleared to debut for Bradenton on June 12, only to land on the shelf following his start that day. Malone will continue to conduct his rehab program at the Pirates' spring facility in Florida and is without a clear timeline for a return.

Luzardo (forearm) struck out six and allowed two earned runs on three hits and four walks Wednesday in his rehab start with Triple-A Jacksonville.

While making the third start of his rehab assignment and his second in a row at Jacksonville, He tossed 75 pitches (45 strikes) and faced 22 batters. That sort of workload suggests Luzardo is stretched out enough to make his next start in the big leagues, assuming the Marlins are comfortable with how the southpaw checked out physically following Wednesday's outing. Luzardo turned in a 4.03 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 41:16 K:BB over 29 innings in his first six starts of the season with the Marlins before he landed on the injured list in mid-May with a left forearm strain.

Meyer (elbow) underwent an MRI on Monday that revealed a tear in his UCL which will require Tommy John surgery, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Meyer exited his second major-league start Saturday due to right elbow discomfort, and the issue will ultimately force him to miss the rest of the 2022 season and most or all of next year. It's a significant blow for the highly-regarded prospect, who posted a 3.72 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 58 innings over 12 starts at Triple-A Jacksonville this year prior to making his big-league debut in mid-July.

Miley (shoulder) is expected to make a rehab start Friday for High-A South Bend.

Miley has been on the shelf since June 11 while dealing with a left shoulder strain, but Friday's start will bring him one step closer to a return. In four starts with the Cubs this season, the left-hander has produced a 2.84 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 12 punchouts over 19 innings. If all goes well on his rehab assignment, Miley could potentially return to the big leagues at some point in mid-August.

Corbin (4-14) gave up six earned runs on seven hits and a walk with no strikeouts over two-thirds of an inning to take the loss in a 7-1 defeat against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

It was a terrible start for Corbin who quickly found himself overmatched by the highest scoring offense in the National League. The Dodgers sent ten men to the plate in the first inning before Corbin got the hook after giving up six runs and only getting two outs. Sloppy defense was partially to blame, as a Gavin Lux double which made it 6-0 was a catchable fly ball that should have made the third out of the inning. Nevertheless, Corbin was handed his MLB-leading 14th loss of the season, and his ERA jumped to an abysmal 6.49. The veteran pitcher will try to rebound in his next start which is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday against the Mets.

Heaney gave up one hit and three walks over four scoreless innings in a 7-1 win over the Nationals on Wednesday. He struck out four and did not factor into the decision.

Heaney looked good in his return from a shoulder injury that had landed him on the 15-day injured list. He held the Nationals scoreless over four innings on 71 pitches and allowed only four baserunners. The 31-year-old left hander now boasts a sparkling 0.47 ERA over four starts and 10 innings pitched in 2022. The main question going forward for the injury-plagued starter will be whether or not he can stay healthy under an increased workload and maintain his spot in the Dodgers' five-man rotation. He is tentatively expected to make his next start at San Francisco next week.

Burnes (8-4) picked up the win in Wednesday's 10-4 victory over the Twins, giving up three runs on five hits over six innings. He struck out 11 without walking a batter.

Minnesota got to Burnes for three runs in the second inning, but other than that stumble the right-hander was in total control, racking up 17 swinging strikes among his 102 pitches and fanning double-digit batters for the third time in his last four starts and the eighth time this season. The quality start was also his 15th in 20 trips to the mound, and Burnes has a 2.31 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 160:31 K:BB through 124.2 innings as he keeps himself in the running for his second straight NL Cy Young Award.
