Gray didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Cubs, allowing two runs on seven hits over 6.1 innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

The right-hander took a shutout into the seventh inning before fading, but the Nationals' bullpen simply made things worse after Gray exited the game. He had to settle for his seventh quality start of the season and first since July 6, but he still got taken deep once again -- his eighth straight outing in which he's served up at least one home run. Gray's 6.14 ERA over that stretch hides an otherwise impressive 54:14 K:BB through 44 innings, but until he learns to keep the ball in the yard, he'll be a volatile fantasy option.

May (elbow) will make one final rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday before entering the Dodgers' starting rotation, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.

May logged his fifth rehab outing Tuesday and threw 68 pitches with eight strikeouts across five innings, and he'll continue building up his workload Sunday before returning to the major-league club. Assuming he avoids any setbacks, the 24-year-old lines up to make his season debut the following weekend against the Marlins.

Woodruff didn't factor into the decision Wednesday, giving up three runs on four hits over seven innings in a 4-3 extra-inning win over the Rays. He struck out five without walking a batter.

Homers by Yu Chang and Randy Arozarena left Woodruff headed for his fourth loss of the season, but the Brewers were able to tie things up in the ninth and walk it off in the 10th. The right-hander wasn't his usual dominant self, but he fired an efficient 85 pitches (58 strikes) and didn't issue a walk for the first time in six starts. Woodruff will carry a 3.52 ERA and 109:27 K:BB through 92 innings on the year into his next outing.

Walker (10-3) picked up the win in Wednesday's 10-2 rout of the Reds, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out five.

The Mets handed the right-hander a 6-0 lead before the Reds got to Walker for a couple runs in the fourth inning, but he recovered to deliver his 11th quality start of the season. It was a solid rebound performance after he got hammered by Atlanta in his last outing, and he'll take a 3.43 ERA and 85:31 K:BB through 110.1 innings on the year into his next one.

Pepiot was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of Wednesday's start against the Twins, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The Dodgers used a four-man rotation in recent days, but Pepiot will return to the majors Wednesday after spending just over a month in the minors. It's possible that Pepiot draws several starts for the major-league club while Clayton Kershaw (back) is on the injured list. Pepiot posted a 3.20 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 19.2 innings over three starts in the minors following his demotion.

The Cardinals recalled Woodford from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday.

St. Louis will bring Woodford aboard as a replacement in the bullpen for the struggling T.J. McFarland, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding transaction. Woodford has been a full-time starter at Memphis this season, so he'll be stretched out enough to serve as a multi-inning relief option while he's with the big club.

Ynoa was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.

Ynoa will make his way back to Gwinnett after being called up Sunday, failing to appear in a game before being sent down. The move opens a spot in Atlanta's bullpen for Kirby Yates (elbow), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

May (elbow) struck out eight over five innings Tuesday in his rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City. He allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk.

The 24-year-old built up to 68 pitches (45 strikes) in his fifth rehab start, looking good once again as he makes his return from Tommy John surgery. Through four outings at Triple-A and one in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, May has turned in a 1.69 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 26:5 K:BB in 16 innings. While the Dodgers weren't expected to immediately have a rotation spot available for May once he was activated from the 60-day injured list, Clayton Kershaw's (back) recent move to the IL and uncertain timeline to return seemingly sets up May to rejoin Los Angeles in a starting role. May will likely make one final rehab start for Oklahoma City early next week before potentially coming off the IL for his 2022 Dodgers debut during next weekend's series versus the Marlins.

Pepiot will be called up from Triple-A Oklahoma CIty to start Wednesday's game against the Twins, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.

Pepiot was initially expected to start Saturday, but the Dodgers elected to use a four-man rotation over the last few days. However, the right-hander will make his first major-league start since early July as a fill-in for Clayton Kershaw (back). Over four big-league starts, Pepiot has posted a 2.76 ERA and 1.35 WHIP in 16.1 innings.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Pepiot will be called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Wednesday's series finale with the Twins in Los Angeles, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

Pepiot will be picking up his fifth start of the season for the Dodgers, stepping into the spot in the rotation that was vacated by Clayton Kershaw's (back) recent move to the injured list. Among the four Dodgers starting pitchers on the injured list, Dustin May (elbow) is probably the closest to returning, but Pepiot should at least get a second turn through the rotation if he's able to deliver a serviceable outing Wednesday. Over his previous four outings with the big club, Pepiot turned in a 2.76 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 19:12 K:BB in 16.1 innings.
