He's been working his way back without undergoing surgery, but he's nonetheless behind his usual preseason schedule. Still, it's a positive that he's feeling good, and it looks as though he has a shot at making any potential trip to the injured list a brief one.

Urias agreed to a one-year, $14.25 million contract with the Dodgers on Friday to avoid arbitration, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Urias made $8 million in 2022 and will receive a substantial raise in his final season of arbitration eligibility. The 26-year-old lefty had a 2.16 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 166:41 K:BB over 175 innings last season.

There's not much to speak of in terms of exceptional strikeout stuff or limiting walks, but if Keller can keep the ball on the ground and runners off the pillows, there's room for the 26-year-old to become a bright spot in the Pirates' rotation.

Brubaker signed a one-year, $2.275 million contract with the Pirates on Friday to avoid arbitration, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.

After recording a career-best 4.69 ERA in 28 starts last season, Brubaker will receive a nice raise from the $725,000 salary he pulled in 2022. Though the 29-year-old righty's stats may not exactly jump off the page, his above-average strikeout rate and 3.91 FIP suggest there could be potential for growth heading into 2023.

May signed a one-year, $1.675 million contract with the Dodgers on Friday to avoid arbitration, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

May didn't make his season debut for the Dodgers last season until August following a long rehab from Tommy John surgery and his results were up-and-down before a back injury sidelined him. The right-hander won't be able to handle a ton of innings in 2023, but there's breakout potential even with a truncated workload.

Suarez signed a one-year, $2.95 million contract with the Phillies on Friday to avoid arbitration, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Suarez had a disappointing first half for Philly in 2022, but he was very good after the All-Star break and fantastic during the club's postseason run. For fantasy purposes, the left-hander would do well to regain some of the swing-and-miss he produced in 2021.

Dunn and the Reds agreed on a one-year, $900,000 contract Friday to avoid arbitration, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

The right-hander started seven games with Cincinnati in 2022, producing an inflated 6.10 ERA and 1.58 WHIP with 21 punchouts over 31 innings. Due to the lack of proven arms on the Reds, Dunn will likely earn a spot in the starting rotation to open 2023.

Lauer agreed to a one-year, $5.075 million contract with the Brewers on Friday to avoid arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Lauer delivered another solid season for the Brewers in 2022 with a 3.69 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 157:59 K:BB across a career-high 158.2 innings. The left-hander should open 2023 as Milwaukee's No. 4 starter behind Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff and Freddy Peralta.

Gallen signed a one-year, $5.6 million contract with Arizona on Friday to avoid arbitration, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

After recording a sub-3.00 ERA in three of his four seasons in the majors, Gallen was due for a healthy raise this offseason in his first year of arbitration eligibility. The 27-year-old righty posted career bests with a 2.54 ERA and 0.91 WHIP through 184 innings in 2022.

Woodruff signed a one-year, $10.8 million contract with the Brewers on Friday to avoid arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

It's a substantial raise for Woodruff, who was in his third of four arbitration-eligible years. The right-hander posted a 3.05 ERA and 190:42 K:BB over 153.1 innings in 2022. He's not as good of a bet as some of the other top-shelf starters to stay healthy, but as far as pure performance goes he measures up to almost anyone.
