Triple-A Gwinnett placed Anderson on its 7-day injured list Tuesday with a sore right elbow, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The injury likely explains why Anderson was hit hard while struggling with both his command and control in his season debut at Triple-A last Sunday. The severity of Anderson's elbow injury isn't known at this time, but he's presumably not going to be a rotation option for the big club anytime soon.

Eder is recovering from a fractured left foot and will open the year at Double-A Pensacola once healthy, Jim Callis of MLB.com reports.

Eder was going to be make his much-anticipated return from Tommy John surgery this spring, but a fractured foot will delay things for the big southpaw. He excelled in 15 starts at Double-A in 2021 prior to needing surgery, so Eder could get a bump to Triple-A this summer once he knocks some rust off.

Nastrini (undisclosed) is building up arm strength in extended spring training and will eventually report to Double-A Tulsa, Jim Callis of MLB.com reports.

We don't have an official injury for Nastrini like we do with teammate Bobby Miller (shoulder), who is also getting held back in extended spring training. It's unclear if this is a significant setback or not, but Nastrini has been a strikeout machine in pro ball and will focus on limiting the free passes when he is ready to return to Double-A.

Urias moved to 2-0 after shutting out the Rockies over six frames in Tuesday's 5-2 victory. He struck out six and scattered five hits while walking none in the 87-pitch start.

The Dodgers have been conservative with Urias' workload in his first two outings of the season, but he's still managed to deliver quality starts while capturing wins and recording exactly six punchouts on both occasions. The 26-year-old lefty endured some early trouble by putting runners on in each of the first three frames and even loading the bases with no outs in the top of the third, but he worked his way out of that jam and retired the final 11 hitters he faced on the night.

Wainwright (groin) will throw another bullpen session Thursday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Wainwright threw off a mound Monday for the first time since his groin strain and it went well, clearing the way for another bullpen session Thursday. A rehab assignment shouldn't be too far off, putting the veteran right-hander on track to return before the end of April if all goes well.

Soroka (hamstring) gave one run in 3.2 innings of work with four strikeouts for Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

The one run came off a solo homer by Ryan O'Hearn. The right-hander was solid outside of that, allowing four hits and not issuing a walk. Soroka is expected to have his innings managed as he works his way back from the hamstring strain that sidelined him all spring -- along with the other injuries that have derailed his career over the past few seasons -- but this is a positive first step in making a return to the Atlanta pitching staff.

Marquez (1-1) allowed four earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four across 5.1 innings to take the loss Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Marquez served up three homers, which accounted for all four of the earned runs against him. He wasn't particularly sharp otherwise, as only 54 of his 95 pitches went for strikes, and he generated only 10 swinging strikes. Marquez has had a pair of tough matchups against the Padres and Dodgers to begin the season, though he has maintained a respectable 1.06 WHIP and posted a 9:2 K:BB across 11.1 innings to this point.

Contreras (1-0) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over 5.2 innings in a 4-1 victory over the Red Sox. He struck out two.

The 23-year-old right-hander wasn't dominant, managing only five swinging strikes among his 78 pitches, but he got the job done in Fenway Park. Contreras posted solid numbers last year in his first extended look at big-league hitters, and the Pirates are counting on him to emerge as a rotation stalwart this season. He sets up for a high-risk, high-reward two-step next week, beginning with a home start against the Astros before a weekend series in St. Louis.

Matz (0-1) was charged with the loss Tuesday against Atlanta after he allowed four runs on 10 hits and one walk across 5.1 innings. He recorded seven strikeouts.

The left-hander surrendered just three runs in four outings during spring training, but Atlanta got to him quickly Tuesday with home runs from Austin Riley and Orlando Arcia in the first and second innings, respectively. Matz generated 15 swinging strikes and topped out at 95.7 mph, which is a tick faster than his average fastball velocity last year, but he had trouble keeping runners off the bases. Matz will have to contend with the Rockies at hitter-friendly Coors Field for his next start, which tentatively lines up for Monday.

Dodd (1-0) earned the win Tuesday in St. Louis, allowing one run on six hits and no walks over five innings in a 4-1 victory. He struck out three.

The 24-year-old made Atlanta's season-opening rotation and was finally added to the MLB roster Tuesday afternoon, and he held down a strong Cardinals offense in his big-league debut. Dodd threw 52 of 73 pitches for strikes and also generated 12 whiffs. The left-hander should maintain his spot in the rotation with Max Fried (hamstring) and Kyle Wright (shoulder) on the injured list, with his next start tentatively lining up for Sunday versus San Diego.
