Steele (5-0) picked up the win in Friday's 4-1 victory over the Marlins, allowing one run on six hits over seven innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.

The southpaw was sharp once again, tossing 64 of 86 pitches for strikes and shutting out Miami through five innings. Steele's ability to limit homers has been his strongest asset so far in 2023 -- he's kept the ball in the yard in six of his seven starts. The 27-year-old will take a 1.45 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB through 43.1 innings into his next outing, likely to come at home next week against the Cardinals.

Cabrera (2-3) took the loss Friday, giving up three runs on five hits and a walk over five innings as the Marlins were downed 4-1 by the Cubs. He struck out eight.

The right-hander continues to rack up punchouts, as Cabrera generated 30 called or swinging strikes among his 95 pitches, but he got little support from the Miami offense. Friday's effort also represented only the second time in seven starts he hasn't walked multiple batters. Cabrera will carry a 4.78 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 44:26 K:BB through 32 innings into his next outing, likely to come next week in Arizona.

Kelly (3-3) earned the win Friday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over seven innings against the Nationals. He struck out 10.

Kelly has now allowed just one run in three of his last four starts. The right-hander had his best start of the year Friday, setting season highs in innings and strikeouts. The 34-year-old veteran is tentatively slated to face the Marlins at home in his next start.

Gray (2-5) took the loss Friday, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks over five innings against the Diamondbacks. He struck out six.

Gray has turned in consistently decent starts this year, but the Nationals haven't been able to give him sufficient run support. Washington has scored just one run or less in all five of the right-hander's losses. The 25-year-old has posted adequate numbers this year, sporting a 3.03 ERA and 1.34 WHIP. Additionally, Gray has given up three runs or less in all but one of his starts this year.

Darvish (2-2) earned the win Friday over the Dodgers, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk while striking out six over 6.2 innings.

Darvish gave up one run in each of the first and seventh innings, and he was tough to hit in between those hiccups. The right-hander rebounded from giving up three homers in his last appearance, though that one came at altitude in Mexico City last Sunday. This was Darvish's second quality start in six outings this season, and he has a 3.19 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 40:13 K:BB through 36.2 innings. He's on track for a road start in Minnesota next week.

Kershaw (5-2) took the loss Friday versus the Padres, allowing four runs on eight hits and five walks with seven strikeouts in 4.2 innings.

Kershaw threw just 56 of 94 pitches for strikes, and he was tagged for a pair of home runs by Fernando Tatis. Kershaw was bumped up a day with the Dodgers opting to give Dustin May more time between outings, but this was still an appearance on regular rest for the veteran. It's the first time this season Kershaw's failed to complete six innings, and he now has a 2.53 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 48:10 K:BB across 42.2 innings over seven starts. Manager Dave Roberts confirmed Kershaw for a road start Wednesday versus the Brewers prior to Friday's game, per Matthew Moreno of Dodgersblue.com.

Montgomery allowed two runs on six hits and a walk with six strikeouts over six innings, taking a no-decision in Friday's loss to the Tigers.

Aside from a two-run home run by Javier Baez in the first inning, Montgomery had another strong outing. He left with a lead, but Jordan Hicks immediately made a mess of things in the seventh inning. This was Montgomery's fifth quality start in seven games this season, but he's often endured a lack of run support. The southpaw has a 3.29 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 38:9 K:BB through 41 innings. He's projected for a road start versus the Cubs next week.

Fried (2-1) allowed seven runs (five earned) on eight hits and two walks over six-plus innings Friday, striking out seven and taking a loss against the Orioles.

Fried coughed up just one run through three innings before being taken deep by Anthony Santander in the fourth. Baltimore then scored seven runs in the seventh frame, with five of them going on Fried's final line despite him not recording an out in the inning. After the ugly outing, the 29-year-old lefty saw his season ERA jump from 0.45 to 2.08 alongside a 25:6 K:BB. He had turned in three straight scoreless starts entering Friday's contest. Fried's next start is currently scheduled for next week at home against Boston.

Senzatela (0-1) allowed one run on three hits and a walk over five innings Friday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Mets.

Senzatela made his season debut after recovering from an ACL tear. He turned in a solid outing; the 28-year-old threw 44 of 69 pitches for strikes and forced nine whiffs. The only run to score against him was Brandon Nimmo's solo shot in the fourth inning. Senzatela posted a 5.07 ERA across 92.1 frames last season. His next start is tentatively scheduled for next week in Pittsburgh.

Senga (4-1) allowed two hits and four walks over six scoreless frames Friday, striking out four and earning a win over the Rockies.

All four of Senga's walks came during the first three frames before later allowing a pair of singles. He didn't face much danger and he found his way back in the win column after taking his first career loss in his last start. Senga dropped his ERA to 3.38 with a 36:22 K:BB through 32 frames. He forced 11 whiffs, marking the fourth time he's gotten double-digit swinging strikes through his first six starts. Senga is currently lined up to start in Cincinnati next week.
