Strider allowed two runs on four hits and no walks while striking out 10 batters over five innings against Baltimore on Saturday. He did not factor in the decision.

Strider was outstanding against Baltimore, inducing 21 swinging strikes and notching double-digit punchouts for the second time this season. However, he threw a hefty 95 pitches over five frames, causing him to miss out on a chance at a quality start. The right-hander was in position for a victory when he departed, but a pair of sixth-inning Orioles runs stuck him with a no-decision and ended his personal three-game winning streak. Strider has thus far avoided any sort of sophomore slump after a fabulous rookie campaign last season. He leads MLB with 67 strikeouts and has posted a 2.70 ERA and 0.93 WHIP across 40 innings.

Megill (3-2) took the loss Saturday as the Mets fell 5-2 to the Rockies, giving up three runs on six hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out four.

The right-hander wasn't particularly sharp, throwing only 58 of 96 pitches for strikes, but he also didn't get much help from his offense as the Mets never led in the game. Megill will take a 4.33 ERA and 27:18 K:BB through 35.1 innings into his next start, likely to come on the road next weekend against the Nationals.

Snell (1-5) allowed two runs on a hit and three walks while striking out six over six innings, taking the loss Saturday versus the Dodgers.

Snell was unlucky Saturday -- the only hit he surrendered was a two-run home run to Chris Taylor in the fourth inning. The Padres' offense mustered a mere one run on five hits and three walks. Snell's earned quality starts in his last two outings, but he's also given up at least one homer in six straight appearances. He's at a 4.89 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 39:21 K:BB through 35 innings over seven starts this season. The southpaw is lined up for a rematch with the Dodgers in Los Angeles next week.

Gomber (3-4) picked up the win Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings in a 5-2 victory over the Mets. He struck out three.

After a shaky start to the season, Gomber has turned a corner and won three straight outings, posting a 1.59 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 17 innings over that stretch. His 10:7 K:BB during the win streak is far from dominant, but the southpaw has kept the ball in the park and limited any damage. While he's trending in the right direction, Gomber will still carry a 6.75 ERA into his next start, which is likely to come next weekend in Coors Field against the Phillies.

May (4-1) allowed three hits and a walk while striking out six over six scoreless innings to earn the win Saturday over the Padres.

May was bumped back in the rotation a couple days, and it appears the extra time served him well. This was his best start since his season debut, and he was able to earn his third win in a row. The right-hander has a 2.68 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 29:15 K:BB over 40.1 innings through seven outings. He'll look to keep it up in his next start, as he tentatively lines up for a rematch with San Diego next week, this time in Los Angeles.

Smyly didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Marlins, giving up two runs on three hits and three walks over 3.1 innings. He struck out five.

The veteran lefty didn't have sharp command and needed 83 pitches (50 strikes) to record 10 outs in his shortest start of the year so far, but the Cubs got him off the hook for a loss with a three-run eighth inning. Smyly still has a 3.05 ERA and 34:9 K:BB through 38.1 innings, and he'll look to rebound in his next outing, likely to come next weekend in Minnesota.

Wainwright didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Tigers, giving up four runs on eight hits over five-plus innings. He struck out five.

Activated from the IL earlier in the day after completing his recovery from a groin injury, the 41-year-old gave St. Louis three scoreless frames in his season debut before beginning to fade, eventually getting pulled after 90 pitches (62 strikes) when he gave up back-to-back hits to lead off the sixth inning. Wainwright was still in position to pick up the win until Detroit tied it up in the seventh. The workload is encouraging, and despite his age he has thrown over 190 innings in each of the last two seasons, so Wainwright isn't expected to need extra rest between starts now that he's healthy. He'll likely take the mound for his second start of 2023 next weekend in Boston.

Rea (0-3) took the loss Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk over six innings against San Francisco. He struck out four.

Rea turned in his first quality start of the season but was outdueled by Alex Cobb, who blanked the Brewers over seven innings. Most of the damage was done early, as a Joey Bart double in the second brought Michael Conforto around to score from first base before Thairo Estrada smacked a two-run home run off Rea in the third. Rea finished the outing by retiring 11 consecutive batters. Though the right-hander bears an 0-3 record, he's been a reliable fill-in starter for Milwaukee, who has dealt with a slew of injuries to their top rotation arms early in the season. Because of his unstable role as the team's sixth starter, Rea doesn't have much fantasy value outside of being a matchup-based streamer.

Cobb (2-1) earned the win Saturday, allowing five hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings against the Brewers. He struck out five.

Cobb had no issues with the Brewers lineup Saturday, holding the team to just five hits over seven shutout innings without allowing a single extra-base hit. Despite the 2-1 record, Cobb has been incredible through seven starts this season, owning a 2.01 ERA and 6.33 K/BB. Though the 35-year-old isn't the best source of strikeouts (8.48 K/9), Cobb provides value by limiting damage while benefitting from making frequent starts in pitcher-friendly Oracle Park.

Lodolo did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk over 3.2 innings against the White Sox. He struck out three.

Lodolo was unable to make it through the fourth inning Saturday, marking his shortest outing of the season. Once again, he was plagued by the long ball, giving up solo homers to Hanser Alberto and Seby Zavala prior to exiting. Lodolo has now given up multiple home runs in four straight starts while only pitching more than five frames once in seven appearances. Though Lodolo has shown excellent strikeout stuff (12.32 K/9), his fantasy value is capped by his pitiful 2.64 HR/9 and 6.29 ERA.
