Alexander cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Alexander is now no longer part of the Brewers' 40-man roster. The swingman has missed a large chunk of this season with a shoulder issue, and while he is healthy now, he has just a 5.23 ERA and 18:9 K:BB over 31 innings this year in the minors.

The Rockies acquired Gordon and Victor Vodnik from Atlanta on Monday in exchange for Pierce Johnson, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Gordon, 25, hasn't had a great year between Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett, posting a 5.86 ERA and 76:25 K:BB over 86 innings between the two stops. The right-hander has shown more bat-missing ability in the past, though, and will give the Rockies more organizational pitching depth.

Flexen could be called up from Triple-A Albuquerque to make his next start with the Rockies during the big club's home series with the Athletics this weekend, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

After being released by the Mets on July 6, Flexen signed a minor-league deal with the Rockies a week later and has immediately settled into the rotation with Colorado's top minor-league affiliate. He's been sharp through his first two starts at Triple-A, most recently tossing five shutout innings (84 pitches) while striking out six Sunday against Sugar Land. Even after recently calling up another Triple-A starter in Peter Lambert, the Rockies still only have three healthy rotation members at the moment, With that in mind, Flexen could have a path to a long-term stay with the big club if he's called upon to start against Oakland this weekend.

DeSclafani allowed four runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two over 4.1 innings Sunday against Washington.

After Scott Alexander only recorded two outs as the opener, DeSclafani came on in the first inning, allowing both inherited runners to score before surrendering four runs of his own over his subsequent four innings of work. The 33-year-old DeSclafani has failed to earn a win since May 29 -- he's pitched to a 7.79 ERA over his last 32.1 innings, going 0-4 in that span. Overall, DeSclafani is 4-8 with a 4.88 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 79:20 K:BB across 99.2 innings this season.

Luzardo did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over seven innings against Colorado. He struck out 13.

Though Luzardo didn't get enough run support to pick up a victory, he was incredible in the no-decision and set a career-high in K's with 13. The outing also marked his sixth quality start in his last seven appearances, a stretch in which he owns a 1.48 ERA and a 55:11 K:BB through 42.2 innings. Luzardo will have another chance to build on his already impressive 2023 resume in his next start, which is projected to come against the Tigers, who average the third-fewest runs scored per game in MLB.

Nola did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits over seven innings against the Guardians. He struck out seven.

Nola struggled with power Sunday, surrendering solo homers to Steven Kwan and Andres Gimenez to mark his third time allowing multiple home runs in his last five starts. Despite giving up a pair of homers, Nola fanned seven batters to notch his fourth consecutive outing with at least six punchouts. He's tentatively scheduled to make his next start during a three-game road series against the Pirates this weekend.

Montgomery (6-8) allowed seven runs (five earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings in a loss to the Cubs on Sunday.

Montgomery still managed to go six innings for the seventh time in his last eight starts despite tying his season high with seven runs allowed. He surrendered a two-run blast to Cody Bellinger in the opening frame before being pummeled for five runs in the third, during which he gave up four hits and had both his walks. It ended an impressive run for Montgomery after he went nine consecutive starts allowing three runs or fewer. He now holds a 3.37 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 105:31 K:BB in 115 innings. For right now, he's lined up for a rematch with the Cubs, but that could change with him being a likely trade piece for the Cardinals at the deadline.

Keller (9-6) allowed six runs on nine hits and a walk over five innings Sunday, striking out seven and taking a loss against the Angels.

Keller turned in another poor performance, this time highlighted by a season-high three home runs allowed. His ERA has jumped from 3.31 to 4.01 with him giving up 14 runs over his last two starts. The 27-year-old righty has posted a 5.51 ERA over his last 11 outings. Keller will look to turn things around in his next start, which is currently projected to be at home against the Phillies.

Carrasco (3-4) yielded five runs on 10 hits and two walks over 2.1 innings Sunday, striking out two and taking a loss against Boston.

The Red Sox caught fire in the third inning, poking six straight hits against Carrasco and forcing him out of the game after just 58 pitches. In his final three starts before the All-Star break, he gave up just four runs in 17 frames. However, he's been charged with nine runs over seven innings since then. The veteran righty has watched his season ERA balloon to 5.82 with a 50:31 K:BB through 14 starts. Carrasco's next outing is currently lined up to be at home against the Nationals.

Taillon (4-6) allowed one run on seven hits across 5.2 innings to earn the win Sunday against the Cardinals. He walked one and struck out six.

It's mostly been a lost season for Taillon, though he's been better lately. Over his last three starts, he's allowed just four earned runs across 19.1 innings, picking up two wins in the process, including Sunday in the comfortable 7-2 Chicago victory. The righty's overall ERA is still an unsightly 5.75, but it looks like he's trending in the right direction. Taillon will aim to keep his momentum going in his next outing, which is projected to come Saturday against this same St. Louis squad.
