Anderson (0-5) allowed six runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three over 3.1 innings, taking the loss Saturday versus the Giants.

Anderson's second start back from shoulder inflammation went worse than his four-inning effort against Toronto last weekend. Thairo Estrada got to him for a two-run home run in the first inning and the Giants rallied for four more runs in the fourth. Anderson is now at a 6.49 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 50:24 K:BB through 68 innings between the Rockies and the Rays this year. He figures to stick in Colorado's rotation, if mostly by default. The right-hander is projected for a home rematch versus the Giants next week.

Dodd (2-2) allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two over four-plus innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Pirates.

Dodd's first major-league outing since June 14 didn't go very well. He ran into trouble in the third inning when the Pirates rallied for three runs, and more issues emerged before he got a quick hook in the fifth. The rookie left-hander has a 7.62 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and 14:11 K:BB over 28.1 innings across six starts. Darius Vines allowed one run over three innings in a relief assignment Saturday, so it's unclear if Dodd will be in the mix for any starts beyond this one, especially if Kyle Wright (shoulder) is activated next week.

Oviedo allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out four over 3.2 innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Saturday.

Oviedo failed to complete four innings for the second outing in a row. He had a season-high six walks in his last start, but Atlanta's offense was able to rack up hits with ease Saturday, though it failed to hit a home run off the right-hander. He's allowed at least three runs in four of his last six outings. For the year, Oviedo has a 4.34 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 140:71 K:BB through 161.2 innings across 29 starts. He's tentatively lined up for a home start versus the Nationals next week.

Winans will start for Atlanta on Sunday versus the Pirates, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Winans has shown flashes in three starts with Atlanta this season, posting a 5.17 ERA but also an 18:4 K:BB over 15.2 innings. With Kyle Wright (shoulder) in line to return next week, it will likely be a spot start for Winans before he heads back to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Ortiz will start for the Pirates on Sunday in Atlanta, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports.

It's Ortiz's originally scheduled turn, but the Pirates had held off officially naming him Sunday's starter until now, presumably in case he was needed in relief. Ortiz has been a big disappointment overall this season but has pitched well his last two times out, allowing three runs over 11 innings. That said, he's not a recommended streamer versus Atlanta.

Striping (back) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list soon, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

Stripling has made just one, one-inning rehab appearance and that was over a week ago. The usage combined with the news that he's expected back soon suggests that the Giants plan to use him in a relief role down the stretch.

The Nationals placed Gore on the 15-day injured list Saturday with left finger blisters, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Gore's blisters could help explain why he was tagged with four runs in four innings during Friday's loss to the Dodgers. He'll be shut down for the next two weeks which still leaves some room for him to potentially make another start before the end of the year, though it's possible the Nats keep him out for the rest of the season. Joe La Sorsa was recalled from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.

Anderson is scheduled to start Saturday's game at San Francisco.

After a nearly six-week stint on the injured list while he recovered from shoulder inflammation, Anderson returned to the Colorado rotation last weekend, giving up two earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three over four innings in a no-decision against Toronto. Though he owns a poor 5.98 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in 64.2 innings in the majors this season, Anderson looks like he'll stick around in the Colorado rotation for the foreseeable future after Austin Gomber back) was recently shut down for the season.

Gore came away with a no-decision Friday in the Nationals' 8-5 loss to the Dodgers, giving up four runs on six hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over four innings. He struck out four.

The southpaw didn't have his best stuff and got hit hard as a result, serving up a two-run homer to J.D. Martinez in the first inning before Max Muncy and Enrique Hernandez tagged him for solo shots in the fourth. It's the third time in his last five starts Gore has given up multiple home runs, and since the All-Star break the 24-year-old has a 4.44 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 43:18 K:BB through 46.2 innings as he shows signs of fatigue -- he's already thrown 49.1 more innings this year than he did in 2022. If he stays on turn, Gore's next outing will likely come next week in Pittsburgh.

Sheehan came away with a no-decision Friday in the Dodgers' 8-5 win over the Nationals, giving up five runs on six hits and a walk over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

Twice the right-hander got handed a two-run lead, and twice he quickly coughed it up, serving up a three-run homer to Keibert Ruiz in the first inning and a two-run shot to CJ Abrams in the fifth. Sheehan's fallen short of five innings in each of his last three starts in the majors, posting a 5.84 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 13:5 K:BB and 3.6 HR/9 in 12.1 innings during those outings, and its not clear if he'll remain a regular member of the rotation over the final weeks of the season.
