Liberatore (3-5) walked one and struck out three over 1.1 scoreless and hitless innings to earn the win Friday over the Reds.

Liberatore was deemed the most effective reliever and awarded the win after starter Drew Rom went just 3.2 innings. This was Liberatore's second outing since returning from a back injury, and he's struck out four without giving up a hit over 2.2 innings. The southpaw is expected to fill a multi-inning role out of the bullpen for the rest of the year. He has a 5.81 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 39:22 K:BB through 52.2 innings over 14 appearances (11 starts) this season.

Blach allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out six over five-plus innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Friday.

Blach kept the Giants off the board for five innings, then gave up back-to-back-to-back home runs to Wilmer Flores, Mitch Haniger and J.D. Davis in the sixth. This is the first time all year Blach's allowed multiple homers in an outing, a feat made all the more impressive given his home park -- and more perplexing, since this was a road start. The southpaw is at a 4.58 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 34:16 K:BB over 59 innings through 16 appearances (nine starts) this season. He's lined up for a home outing against the Cubs next week.

Harrison allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out five over five-plus innings Friday in a no-decision versus the Rockies.

The Rockies got to him for three runs in the second inning and Nolan Jones added a solo home run in the sixth to end Harrison's night. Perhaps this represented progress for the rookie, but it still wasn't a particularly impressive effort. He's struck out at least five batters in all four of his starts while posting a 4.87 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB across 20.1 innings. Harrison is projected for a home start versus light-hitting Cleveland next week, which should also allow him to avoid a visit to Coors Field when the Giants and Rockies clash again next weekend.

Sanchez did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing four hits and one walk over five scoreless innings against Miami. He struck out four.

He had an eight-day layoff after his previous start, but the extra rest did him good. Sanchez kept the Marlins off the board and left the game in line for the win. However, the Phillies' bullpen allowed three runs to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Sanchez has now allowed two or fewer runs in 10 of his 15 outings this season. He'll carry an ERA of 3.26 into his next start, currently scheduled to take place mid-week in an important home series against Atlanta.

Perez did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over five innings in Miami's 3-2 win over Philadelphia. He struck out four.

A first-inning homer by Trea Turner was the fourth allowed by Perez in his last two outings, but he settled down from there. After working 78 innings in 2021 and 77 innings last year in the Marlins' farm system, Perez has now thrown 120.1 innings this year between Triple-A and the majors, although it's hard to imagine the Marlins will shut him down amid a playoff push. The 20-year-old will carry a 2.90 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 99 strikeouts in 83.2 big-league innings into his next start, which is scheduled to take place mid-week in Milwaukee.

Abbott (8-5) took the loss Friday, allowing six runs on four hits and three walks over four innings against St. Louis. He struck out three.

After a stellar 1.90 ERA and 66:19 K:BB in 61.2 innings over his first 10 starts, Abbott has struggled mightily of late. The 24-year-old rookie sports a 6.51 ERA with 41:20 K:BB in 37.1 innings over his last eight starts. Abbott will look to right the ship in his next outing, scheduled to come in Detroit.

Rom did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks over 3.2 innings in the Cardinals' win over Cincinnati. He didn't register a strikeout.

After throwing 11 stellar innings at Triple-A Memphis with a 0.82 ERA and 18:4 K:BB following the trade deadline, Rom's major-league debut has been nothing short of a disaster. The 23-year-old sports a 7.79 ERA and 2.02 WHIP with an 11:8 K:BB in 17.1 innings over four starts. Rom currently lines up to face his former organization, the Orioles, on the road in his next start.

Rea did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 4.2 innings against the Yankees. He struck out six.

A Jasson Dominguez two-run shot in the third was the only damage the right-hander allowed. It took him 85 pitches to record 14 outs, but following two consecutive outs to start the fifth, Rea was pulled in favor of Abner Uribe, who struck out Aaron Judge to complete the inning. With Adrian Houser (elbow) scheduled to return from a stint on the injured list Sept. 12, Rea's future role on the Brewers' pitching staff is up in the air.

Snell (13-9) allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out eight over six innings to earn the win over the Astros on Friday.

Snell gave up runs for the first time in three outings, but he still delivered his sixth consecutive quality start. Over his last three starts, he's posted a 25:12 K:BB across 19 innings. Despite a walk rate that's been among the highest in the majors all year, Snell continues to put together solid outings and has a 2.52 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 209:92 K:BB through 161 innings over 29 starts. The southpaw is projected for a challenging road start versus the Dodgers next week.

Senga did not factor in the decision Friday, yielding two runs on four hits and four walks over six innings in the Mets' loss to the Twins. He struck out five.

It was a fairly lackluster performance for Senga compared to what he's been doing lately. While he turned in his 13th straight start with three or fewer earned runs allowed, he also walked four batters for the first time since June 10. Senga has registered a 2.65 ERA during that 13-game run, bringing his season mark down to 3.07. He's in line for a home matchup against Arizona next week.
