Blach did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks over five innings against the Twins. He struck out four.

Blach allowed four runs through the first three innings and did not pitch a clean inning all night, but managed to leave in line for the win, only for the Colorado bullpen to squander it. Following a start in Baltimore on Aug. 27 in which he allowed just one run over seven innings, Blach has struggled to close out the season, allowing at least four runs in five of his final six starts while carrying an ERA of 8.10 over 30 innings during that stretch.

Lynn (13-11) allowed two runs on two hits and four walks while striking out four over six innings to earn the win over the Giants on Friday.

Lynn struggled in the first inning and allowed an RBI single to Wilmer Flores, who also had a solo home run in the third. Those were the only two hits Lynn gave up as he earned his third quality start in five outings this month. He won three of his last four starts and closes the regular season with a 5.73 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 191:67 K:BB over 183.2 innings across 32 starts between the Dodgers and the White Sox. His ERA was a more reasonable 4.36 with Los Angeles, which should be enough to earn him a spot in the team's playoff rotation during the NLDS.

Gallen (17-9) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out seven over 6.1 innings to take the loss Friday versus the Astros.

Gallen posted a quality start, but Arizona's offense didn't generate a run until the ninth inning, leaving him with a tough loss. The right-hander had a shaky September, allowing 18 runs (17 earned) over 36.2 innings while going 3-3 in his starts for the month. Overall, he ends the regular season with a 3.47 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 220:47 K:BB through 210 innings over 34 starts. He'd likely be available during the wild-card round if the Diamondbacks secure a playoff spot.

Cabrera did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks over 3.2 innings against the Pirates. He struck out three.

With the Marlins in the thick of the NL wild-card race, manager Skip Schumaker didn't give Cabrera a long leash. The 25-year-old struggled with his control again Friday night, a common theme for his 2023 campaign as he entered the start with an ugly 5.9 BB/9. Cabrera ends the season with a 4.42 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 118:66 K:BB over 99.2 innings.

Hendricks allowed three runs on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings in Friday's loss to Milwaukee. He struck out two and did not factor in the decision.

Hendricks turned in four shutout frames before stumbling in the fifth inning. He threw just 41 of 73 pitches for strikes and failed to complete at least five innings for the first time since Aug. 4. Hendricks registered a 4.39 ERA in five September starts and finished the 2023 season with a 3.74 ERA and a 93:27 K:BB through 137 frames.

Rea allowed two hits over five scoreless frames during Friday's win over the Cubs. He struck out six without walking a batter and did not factor in the decision.

Rea rolled through his shutout performance Friday, tossing 50 of 67 pitches for strikes. He allowed just one runner to reach scoring position and never faced much of a threat. It was his longest appearance since July 30. Rea posted a 2.22 ERA over his final 24.1 frames, dropping his season ERA to 4.55 alongside a 110:38 K:BB across 124.2 total innings.

Williamson (5-5) earned the win in Friday's 19-2 victory in St. Louis after allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out two.

Williamson cruised to an easy win thanks to massive run support, but he still delivered his first quality start since Aug. 29 and first win since Aug. 7. The 25-year-old lefty will end his rookie campaign with a 4.46 ERA and a 98:39 K:BB through 117 frames. Williamson registered a 5.55 ERA over his final five starts.

Spiers gave up one hit and struck out one batter over three scoreless innings en route to picking up his first career save in Friday's 19-2 win over the Cardinals.

After being promoted from Triple-A Louisville earlier in the day, Spiers came on in relief of starter Brandon Williamson to put the finishing touches on the Reds' blowout win. Prior to the scoreless outing, Spiers gave up at least three runs in each of his first three career MLB appearances. Given that he tossed 40 pitches Friday, Spiers might not be available in relief for the Reds' final two games of the regular season and could be optioned back to Louisville in exchange for a fresh arm.

Henry (elbow) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Friday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Henry is scheduled to throw another bullpen session Tuesday, but he probably won't be a consideration for the Diamondbacks' postseason roster unless they make a deep run. The 26-year-old left-hander has been on the injured list since late July because of elbow inflammation.

Elder won't start as originally scheduled Sunday against Washington, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

With Elder having already thrown a career-high 180.2 innings this season, 21.2 IP more than he worked across all levels in 2022, Atlanta will skip his turn in the rotation ahead of the postseason. The 24-year-old has given up 13 runs in 12.1 innings over his last three starts, so perhaps the extended rest period will help him return to form in the NLDS. The team has not yet named a replacement starter for the final game of the regular season.
