Michael Lorenzen SP | COL
Royals' Michael Lorenzen: Yields four runs in loss
Lorenzen (1-3) took the loss against the Tigers on Thursday, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three across 4.2 innings.
Lorenzen wasn't able to make it out of the fifth inning despite tossing 102 pitches (63 of which were strikes). He has allowed at least five hits in each of his first four starts of the 2025 season and has a 4.57 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 17:7 across 21.2 innings to begin the year. Lorenzen will look to get back into the win column in his next outing, which is tentatively slated for next week at home against the Rockies.

Reese Olson SP | DET
Tigers' Reese Olson: Tosses five shutout innings in win
Olson (2-1) earned the win against the Royals on Thursday, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out five across five scoreless innings.
Olson allowed at least two baserunners in two of the five frames he pitched, but he managed to get out of those innings without yielding a run. The 25-year-old right-hander has won four straight games at Comerica Park dating back to the 2024 regular season, and through his first four starts in 2025 he's posted a 4.50 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 18:10 K:BB across 20 innings. Olson's next start is slated for next week at home against the Padres.

Jack Kochanowicz SP | LAA
Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Struggles in loss to Rangers
Kochanowicz (1-2) took the loss after allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk in 4.2 innings Thursday against the Rangers. He struck out one.
The Rangers peppered the right-hander with runs, scoring one in the first inning, two in the second frame and one more in the third. Kochanowicz hurled just one clean inning, although just two of his six hits allowed went for extra bases. After recording four strikeouts in each of his first two starts of the year, the 24-year-old has punched just one batter in each of his past two outings. Kochanowicz is slated for a softer matchup at home against the Pirates next week, but he has an uninspiring 6.20 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 10:7 K:BB across 20.1 innings to begin the season.

Kumar Rocker SP | TEX
Rangers' Kumar Rocker: Career-high eight strikeouts in win
Rocker (1-2) earned the win after allowing three runs on five hits and no walks in seven innings Thursday against the Angels. He struck out eight.
The seven frames and eight punchouts both set career highs for the hard-throwing right-hander, who was outstanding Thursday. Jorge Soler plated a run in the opening frame, and Luis Rengifo drove in a pair in the fifth inning, but Rocker threw five spotless innings otherwise. Rocker will look to further improve on his 6.38 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 14:4 K:BB through four starts (18.1 innings) in his next outing, which is likely to come against a hard-hitting Athletics lineup in Sacramento next week.

Taj Bradley SP | MIN
Rays' Taj Bradley: Falters in first loss Thursday
Bradley (2-1) took the loss Thursday against the Yankees after allowing six runs on nine hits and four walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out three.
Bradley ran into immediate danger Thursday, giving up three hits before recording a single out, but he held the Yankees to just one run in the first inning. The right-hander then faltered while giving up five runs across the fifth and sixth innings, two of which came via inherited runners by Manuel Rodriguez after Bradley was relieved. The 24-year-old has already delivered two quality starts this season, but the 10 runs he's surrendered in his other two outings have resulted in an inflated 5.24 ERA.

Will Warren SP | NYY
Yankees' Will Warren: Quick hook against Rays
Warren didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Rays after allowing one run on four hits and two walks in 1.2 innings. He struck out one.
After throwing 53 pitches, the right-hander was given a quick hook in the second inning. He limited the damage by getting Taylor Walls to hit a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded in the frame, but Warren was pulled after walking Kameron Misner to reload the bases. Warren has a 1-0 record through four starts and is holding right-handed batters to a .154 average, but lefties are hitting .300 against him with a .954 OPS. He will carry a mediocre 5.17 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 16:9 K:BB over 15.2 innings into his next scheduled start in Cleveland next week.

Kyle Wright SP | CHC
Royals' Kyle Wright: Slated for three inning in ACL
Wright (shoulder/hamstring) is scheduled for three innings in the Arizona Complex League on Monday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Wright entered the season on the injured list as he continues rehab on his right shoulder along with a hamstring strain he suffered in camp. The right-hander doesn't have a clear timeline for his return, but his return to game action indicates his 2025 MLB debut may not be too far off.

Davis Martin SP | CHW
White Sox's Davis Martin: Falls to A's
Martin (1-2) took the loss Thursday against the Athletics, allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out three.
Martin held the A's to one run through his first four innings before giving up a solo homer to Lawrence Butler in the fifth followed by a JJ Bleday two-run blast in the sixth. The 28-year-old righty has covered at least five frames in each of his first four starts of the year but has otherwise provided inconsistent results, with a 4.84 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB across 22.1 innings.

JP Sears SP | SD
Athletics' JP Sears: Blanks White Sox in second win
Sears (2-2) earned the win Thursday over the White Sox, allowing three hits and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out two.
Sears had little trouble with the White Sox on Thursday, allowing just three singles while cruising to his second victory. The 29-year-old left-hander has delivered quality starts in three of his first four outings to start the year. Sears now sports a 3.13 ERA with a 1.09 WHIP and 18:5 K:BB across 23 innings. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Rangers in his next start.

Keider Montero SP | DET
Tigers' Keider Montero: Sticking around in majors
Montero remains on the Tigers' active roster following Wednesday's start against the Brewers and is expected to pitch again in 4-to-5 days, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
It was anticipated that Montero would be sent back down to the minors following what was expected to be a spot start. However, manager A.J. Hinch said "there was a lot we liked" about Montero's start in Milwaukee, and "we're hoping to get another outing of him." Whether that's another start or perhaps an extended relief appearance isn't clear. Montero permitted five runs on eight hits across five innings against the Brewers, but he also walked just one and struck out eight.
