  • Frankie Montas RP | NYM

Athletics' Frankie Montas: Tosses six shutout frames

Montas (6-2) threw six shutout innings with nine strikeouts, allowing five hits and two walks to earn a victory against the Indians on Wednesday.

For the fifth straight start, Montas has dropped his season ERA, which is an incredible feat considering it sat at 3.10 just five outings ago. During this stretch, Montas did allow seven runs against the Red Sox on April 29, but six of them were unearned. Therefore, over his last 31 innings, he's yielded only six earned runs. He's also struck out 26 hitters in the last 20.2 frames. Overall, Montas is 6-2 with a 2.40 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 61 strikeouts in 60 innings this season. He will make his next start against the Angels on Tuesday.

  • Martin Perez SP | ATL

Twins' Martin Perez: Wednesday's game postponed

Perez won't make his scheduled start Wednesday against the Angels since the game was postponed due to unplayable field conditions, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

The rain had stopped by the time the game was supposed to start, but the field was still deemed unplayable due to the water. The game was rescheduled for Thursday afternoon, so Perez's outing should only be delayed by one day.

  • Brad Keller RP | PHI

Royals' Brad Keller: Earns third win

Keller (3-5) allowed two earned runs on two hits and four walks while striking out three across seven innings to earn the win in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Keller got strong results in his start, allowing only two earned runs after the bullpen failed to strand two inherited runners in the eighth inning. Despite the strong results, Keller wasn't particularly impressive as he walked more batters than he struck out and generated just four swinging strikes on 105 total pitches. Still, this outing was Keller's longest since Opening Day and his first quality start since April 12 -- a span of six outings. He'll look to build off this effort in his next start, currently scheduled for Monday at the White Sox.

  • Marco Gonzales RP | TEX

Mariners' Marco Gonzales: Seven strong innings

Gonzales (5-4) allowed two runs (one earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out three across seven innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Rangers.

Gonzales allowed a solo home run to Hunter Pence in the sixth inning to account for his only earned run of the game. While he wasn't dominant in terms of strikeouts, Gonzalez controlled the zone well by beginning 19 of the 27 batters he faced with a strike and finding the zone with 58 of his 81 total pitches. After he failed to complete more than five innings in three of his prior four starts, this long outing was needed for Gonzales. He'll look to build off this performance in his next start, which is currently scheduled for Tuesday against Texas.

  • Luis Severino SP | ATH

Yankees' Luis Severino: Slowly ramping up

Severino (lat) could resume playing catch Monday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

He has already been ruled out through the All-Star break, so this isn't necessarily actionable, but it's good to know he is at least progressing. The Yankees have weathered his absence quite well, getting excellent early season performances from Domingo German and CC Sabathia.

  • Alex Cobb SP | DET

Orioles' Alex Cobb: Transferred to 60-day IL

Cobb (back) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Cobb appeared to be closing in on a rehab assignment in mid-May but is apparently not close to returning to action. He now won't be eligible to return until late June. The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Keon Broxton, who was acquired in a trade from the Mets on Wednesday.

  • Yusei Kikuchi SP | LAA

Mariners' Yusei Kikuchi: Abbreviated start coming soon

Manager Scott Servais said Kikuchi will make a "normal start" Saturday in Oakland before likely tossing an abbreviated one-inning appearance in one of his subsequent 2-to-3 appearances, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

In an effort to ease Kikuchi's transition from Japan to the majors and keep his innings in check, the Mariners plan to limit the left-hander to one abbreviated outing approximately every 5-to-6 turns this season. His first shortened start was a one-inning appearance versus the Rangers back on April 26; Kikuchi has since turned in four consecutive quality starts, submitting a 2.02 ERA and 0.82 WHIP in that span. Kikuchi will look to keep rolling Saturday in his fifth straight "normal start" and then should handle a lighter workload the next time his turn comes up May 30 versus the Angels. Since that outing against the Angels would represent Kikuchi's only "start" of the week, it may be advisable for fantasy managers to keep him on the bench.

  • Mike Clevinger RP | PIT

Indians' Mike Clevinger: Final bullpen session on tap

Manager Terry Francona said that Clevinger (back) will likely throw another bullpen session Friday before the Indians map out a rehab schedule for the right-hander, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Clevinger has made tremendous progress in his recovery from an upper-back strain and should soon be ready to test himself against hitters, which marks the final phase of his rehab process. Francona joked that Clevinger probably feels ready to throw five innings in a game, but the Indians will almost certainly plan for a more conservative workload for his first rehab outing. The Indians have yet to pinpoint a target date for Clevinger's reinstatement from the 60-day injured list, but as things currently stand, he looks poised to return on or shortly after his June 7 eligibility date.

  • Chris Bassitt SP | BAL

Athletics' Chris Bassitt: Fails to finish four frames

Bassitt allowed three runs on three hits and six walks across 3.2 innings during Tuesday's win over the Indians. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.

Bassitt's command was all over the place as the six walks eclipsed his total from his previous four starts combined, and he ended up throwing only 47 of his 88 pitches for strikes. It's a stark contrast for the 30-year-old after he covered 15.2 innings over his last two outings. Bassitt still has a 2.48 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 44:15 K:BB across 36.1 innings, and he'll look for a rebound performance Monday versus the Angels.

  • Lance Lynn SP | STL

Rangers' Lance Lynn: Fans season-high 11 in win

Lynn (6-3) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings while striking out a season-high 11 in a 5-3 victory over the Mariners.

The right-hander ran up a huge pitch count in the dominant performance, firing 75 of 120 pitches for strikes, so it wouldn't be surprising if Texas found a way to give Lynn some extra rest before his next start -- currently scheduled for Sunday, on the road against the Angels. Whenever he takes the mound next, he'll carry a 4.67 ERA and 60:19 K:BB through 61.2 innings with him.
