Kremer tossed six innings Monday in Seattle, permitting two hits, two walks and one run with four strikeouts in a 5-3 win. He did not factor in the decision.

This was far and away Kremer's best start of the year as it was his first time going at least five innings and allowing fewer than three runs. The strong performance most likely earned him a bit more security as part of Baltimore's rotation.

Quintana (0-3) allowed five runs on six hits and a walk over 3.2 frames Monday, striking out nine and taking a loss against the Rays.

Quintana started Monday's game on short notice and the Rays took advantage. He gave up five hits and four runs during the third inning before Willy Adames hammered a 446-foot solo blast off him in the fourth. The 32-year-old lefty now owns a brutal 10.59 ERA through 17 innings and he's allowed at least four runs in all but one start this season. Quintana is expected to face the Dodgers at home this weekend.

Glasnow (4-1) yielded three runs on four hits and four walks over six innings Monday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Angels.

Glasnow rolled through five scoreless innings before he coughed up two homers in the sixth to Shohei Ohtani and Anthony Rendon. After he issued just three walks in 19.2 innings to begin the season, the flamethrowing righty has now walked 12 batters in 24 innings over his last four starts. Still, he's sporting a strong 2.06 ERA and 64:15 K:BB. Glasnow is projected to face the Athletics on the road this weekend.

Matz (4-2) allowed five runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings Monday, striking out six and taking a loss against Oakland.

The Athletics got to Matz early, scoring three runs in the second inning including a two-run shot by Stephen Piscotty. He later served up another two-run homer, this time off the bat of Ramon Laureano. His season ERA spiked to 4.78 with a 33:10 K:BB over 32 innings. Matz is lined up to take the mound in Houston this weekend.

Montas (3-2) allowed three runs on a walk and seven hits over six innings Monday, striking out four and picking up a win over the Blue Jays.

Aside from a third inning where the Blue Jays tallied five singles and three runs, Montas kept Toronto's bats fairly quiet. He now has four quality starts over his last five outings and lowered his season ERA to 5.87. The 28-year-old righty is expected to face the Rays at home this weekend.

Dunning (1-2) took the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out five over 5.2 innings Monday against the Twins.

Dunning surrendered one run in the second inning, one in the third and one in the sixth, though he was just one out away from turning in a quality start. Unfortunately, his club was unable to get any offense going until the eighth inning, making a late push before falling 6-5 in the series opener. Through six starts in 2021, he has a 3.81 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 29 strikeouts across 28.1 innings.

Maeda (2-2) earned the win after allowing two hits and two walks while striking out eight over 5.1 scoreless innings Monday against Texas.

Maeda was rock solid in his sixth start of the 2021 campaign after struggling in his previous two outings. After cruising through the first five frames, he ran into some trouble in the top of the sixth, allowing a double and a walk with one out. This resulted in his departure from the contest, but Minnesota's bullpen managed to retire the final two outs of the inning to get Maeda off the hook. The 33-year-old sits with a 5.34 ERA and 1.57 WHIP with 28 punchouts through 28.2 innings this season.

Manning is set to start Tuesday's season opener for Triple-A Toledo, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

This isn't much of a surprise, as Manning is considered the team's top pitching prospect and he's expected to make his MLB debut sometime this summer, so he should headline the staff in Toledo while he's there. There isn't a definitive timeline for the 23-year-old to reach the majors, but he can help his cause by getting off to a hot start for the Mud Hens.

Sandoval was recalled Monday.

Sandoval will take the roster spot of Mike Mayers, who was placed on the injured list Monday for an unspecified reason. Sandoval has yet to see any big-league action this season after failing to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster.

Ryu (hip) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list and start Thursday's game against the Athletics, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Ryu was placed on the injured list Wednesday due to a glute strain, but he'll only end up missing one turn through the rotation. He's been solid through five outings this season, owning a 2.60 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with a 26:3 K:BB across 27.2 frames.
