Schmidt (elbow) will throw approximately two innings off a mound Saturday, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Schmidt threw all of his pitches in a throwing session last week, and he'll continue to ramp up his intensity as he recovers from an elbow strain that he sustained in February. Manager Aaron Boone said that the right-hander could face hitters after Saturday's throwing session if all goes well.

Severino (elbow/groin) could resume mound work in a week to 10 days, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Severino continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery, but he's also dealing with a Grade 2 groin strain that he sustained during a rehab assignment earlier in June. He's been playing catch recently, and he was able to run full sprints Thursday. It's not yet clear when the right-hander will return to game action, but his return to the mound will be a significant step in his recovery.

Kopech (hamstring) looked good in a simulated game Friday and will throw another one Monday, Scot Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.

Kopech has been out for just shy of a month with a strained left hamstring. Manager Tony La Russa was particularly impressed with the young righty's command, but he's still not quite ready to either embark on a rehab assignment or return to the active roster. The next step in his recovery should become clearer after Monday.

Kluber (shoulder) has extended his throwing distance to 75 feet, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

Kluber is still only playing catch, but he's made slight progress in his throwing program. He isn't eligible to return from the injured list until late July, but a better idea of his return timetable could become clear once he's able to resume mound work.

Kremer was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.

The 25-year-old surrendered six runs while recording only one out in Thursday's start versus Toronto, prompting his return to the minors. Kremer has made 12 starts for the Orioles this season and has struggled with a 7.25 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 45:24 K:BB across 49.2 innings. He may need to show significant improvement at Triple-A in order to receive another look in the big-league rotation.

Lyles will start Sunday's series finale against the Royals, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Lyles was replaced by Taylor Hearn the last time his turn in the rotation came due, but he ended up pitching six quality innings of relief when Hearn failed to get out of the first inning. Lyles has had issues with the long ball, surrendering 16 home runs over 77.1 innings, which has contributed to his 5.47 ERA.

Allard (2-3) allowed four earned runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out one across six innings to take the loss Thursday against the Athletics.

Allard was touched up for three runs in the opening frame, as he allowed four hits and also threw a wild pitch. However, he settled in from there, as the only earned run he allowed in his next five innings of work came on a solo home run by Jed Lowrie. Allard's strikeout total wasn't impressive in this outing, though he still has a 44:10 K:BB and 3.33 ERA across 46 innings this season.

Bassitt (8-2) allowed one earned run on five hits and three walks while striking out four across seven innings to earn the win Thursday against the Rangers.

Bassitt had the benefit of a three-run lead before throwing a pitch, but he limited the Rangers offensively with little trouble. He didn't allow any extra-base hits and has now allowed two earned runs or fewer in four consecutive starts. The only downside to his outing was a continued worsening of command, as he's now issued multiple walks in each of his last three appearances. Even so, he's maintained a strong 3.25 ERA and still has only a 2.4 BB/9 across 99.2 innings on the campaign.

Urena (2-8) was charged with the loss Thursday against the Astros after surrendering six runs (four earned) on eight hits and a pair of walks while striking out one across 3.2 innings.

It started off with a five-pitch first inning, but things went downhill from there. While the 29-year-old managed to keep the ball in the park, he couldn't find a way to silence Houston's bats as he got hammered for the third straight game. Urena has now given up 21 runs (18 earned) over his past three starts (9.2 innings). The veteran righty will attempt to right the ship in his next appearance, which is tentatively scheduled on the road against Cleveland on Tuesday.

Garcia (6-4) earned the win Thursday after holding the Tigers to two runs on seven hits and a pair of walks while striking out five across seven innings.

Doubles proved to be the enemy this time, allowing each of Garcia's runs to score. The right-hander gave up an RBI double to Akil Baddoo in the third frame and an RBI double to Daz Cameron in the sixth in an otherwise strong performance. Garcia has now allowed two or fewer runs in six of his last seven starts, lowering his ERA to 2.83 and his WHIP to 1.10 across 76.1 innings. The 24-year-old is projected to take the mound again at home Wednesday against Baltimore.
