Eovaldi allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out seven over five innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Saturday.

Eovaldi had thrown 94 pitches and was removed with the score tied 1-1 to start the sixth. The Yankees then hit back-to-back home runs off reliever Hirokazu Sawamura. A significant rain that started in the fifth inning continued to fall hard, and the game was called after six. The Red Sox are expected to introduce a sixth starter Wednesday -- the recently called up Tanner Houck -- which should push Eovaldi's next start to Friday at home against the Yankees.

Greinke (shoulder) threw a bullpen session prior to Friday's game against the White Sox but is still not assured to start Monday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Greinke told manager Dusty Baker he's feeling good and ready to go Monday against Cleveland, but the manager will not yet confirm the right-hander as the starter. Greinke lasted just four innings in the final start before the All-Star break, though the 37-year-old was among the AL leaders in innings (115.1) over the first half.

Odorizzi (3-5) lasted just 3.1 innings while taking the loss against the White Sox on Saturday. He allowed four runs on six hits and four walks while striking out one.

Odorizzi has pitched well since returning from a forearm injury, posting a 2.29 ERA in 39.1 innings, but he battled command issues Saturday. He walked a season high and allowed as many home runs as he did over the previous 44 innings. Odorizzi's next start is expected Friday or Saturday at home against the Rangers.

Giolito (8-6) earned the win over Houston on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits while striking out eight over nine innings.

Giolito was supported by five home runs, which certainly made life easy for the White Sox's ace, but he didn't need it. After allowing a first-inning double to Michael Brantley, Giolito retired 22 consecutive batters before Abraham Toro touched him for a two-out home run in the eighth. This was his first complete game since he no-hit the Pirates on Aug. 25 last season. Giolito's next turn through the rotation lines up for Friday on the road against Milwaukee.

Kikuchi (6-5) allowed seven earned runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out seven across five innings, taking the loss to the Angels.

Kikuchi surrendered a home run to Jack Mayfield in the fourth inning and a long ball to Taylor Ward in the fifth. The All-Star has struggled of late, allowing 12 runs in his last two starts. However, he's managed to maintain a 9.7 K/9 since June 5. The 30-year-old has a 3.92 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP in 103.1 innings this season. He will look to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for Friday against the Athletics.

Cobb (7-3) allowed one earned run on five hits and four walks while striking out six across 6.2 innings, earning the win over the Mariners on Saturday.

Cobb allowed just one run in the fifth inning after two singles and two walks. Otherwise, he continued his hot streak with just two runs allowed over his last three starts. However, he has walked seven batters over his last two appearances. This season, he has a 3.96 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP with 80 strikeouts over 72.2 innings.

Singer (3-7) allowed seven runs on eight hits and a walk with just one strikeout to take the loss Saturday to Baltimore.

Singer needed 60 pitches to record just six outs before being taken out in the third inning. After a scoreless opening frame, Singer gave up a pair of runs in the second and five more in the third on his way to an eighth straight start without a victory. The 24-year-old produced a promising rookie campaign in 2020 but hasn't been able to put it together as a sophomore, posting a 5.13 ERA and 1.55 WHIP over 87.2 innings. Singer has been able to miss bats (92 strikeouts), but he's allowed a flood of baserunners with 99 hits and 37 walks while hitting nine batters.

Montas (8-8) allowed two runs on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six innings, taking the loss Saturday versus Cleveland.

Montas had little trouble until Cleveland scraped two runs together in the fifth inning. Oakland never pulled even, leaving Montas with his first loss since June 21. The 28-year-old has a 4.33 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 112:29 K:BB through 106 innings this year. The right-hander will try to get back in the win column during next weekend's series in Seattle.

Quantrill (2-2) allowed a run on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts in five innings, earning the win Saturday over Oakland.

While it wasn't exactly a gem, Quantrill did enough to put Cleveland in position to win. The right-hander has won consecutive starts, but he's still allowed 17 runs in 24 innings across his last five outings. For the year, Quantrill has a 4.05 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 48:22 K:BB across 66.2 innings. He projects to make his next start versus Tampa Bay next week.

Means (shoulder) will be activated to start Tuesday's game in Tampa Bay, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

It's been an eventful year for Means, who logged the best start of his career -- a no-hitter May 5 in Seattle -- amid a breakout season before missing almost six weeks with a shoulder injury. He made three rehab appearances, building up to three innings in each of his last two outings. Means could go deep enough to get the win Tuesday, but he will likely be on some sort of pitch count.
