Cease (3-2) took the loss against the Yankees on Tuesday, allowing five runs on four hits and four walk while striking out nine across five innings.

It was an up-and-down performance from Cease, who recorded six of his nine punchouts through the first three innings, striking out the side in the third. However, Cease issued three of his four walks over the next two frames and gave up all five runs on homers by Ryan McMahon and Ben Rice in the fourth and fifth, respectively. Cease had given up just one home run through his first nine starts of the season, and Tuesday was the first time he yielded two homers in a start since last Aug. 21. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which is lined up for this weekend at home against the Pirates.

Bradish (2-6) took the loss against the Rays on Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six across 5.1 innings.

Yandy Diaz (hand) had Bradish's number in Tuesday's contest, with the former smacking an RBI double and a solo homer in the first and sixth innings, respectively. Those ended up being the only runs Bradish gave up, but unfortunately for the right-hander, he didn't receive enough run support from his teammates to avoid the loss. He's taken the loss in four of his last five starts and sits at a 4.13 ERA and 1.51 WHIP across 52.1 innings. His next start is tentatively slated for next week at home in a rematch against Tampa Bay.

The Astros placed McCullers on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right shoulder inflammation, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Manager Joe Espada said McCullers' shoulder issue is something he's been dealing with for a while. The right-hander didn't bounce back from his most recent start the way the Astros had hoped, so they'll now opt to place him on the shelf and send him back to Houston for further evaluation. A timeline for his return will likely be established once his test results come back.

McCullers has been scratched from his scheduled start Tuesday in Minnesota.

The Astros have yet to provide reasoning for the move, but an update on McCullers should be forthcoming. Jason Alexander will make a spot start Tuesday in McCullers' place.

Manager Aaron Boone announced Tuesday that Cole (elbow) will be reinstated from the 15-day injured list to make his season debut Friday versus the Rays, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

The Yankees ace is ready to make his first start in the big leagues since 2024 after being sidelined for the entirety of last season due to Tommy John surgery. Cole made six rehab appearances in the minor leagues, with his last outing coming with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, when he threw 86 pitches across 5.1 frames while giving up one run on six hits with six strikeouts and a walk. The right-hander shouldn't face significant workload restrictions given the length of his rehab assignment, though the Yankees are still likely to exercise some caution with his usage.

Povich (elbow) met with Dr. Keith Meister on Tuesday and is without an official timetable for his return after receiving a cortisone injection, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

The left-hander landed on the shelf May 8 due to elbow inflammation, and it appears he's avoided a serious injury after being evaluated further. Povich will be eligible to be reinstated from the injured list this weekend, but his lack of official return timeline indicates that his absence is likely to extend into June.

The Guardians placed Pallette on the paternity list Tuesday.

Pallette will step away from the Guardians for a few days in order to be with his growing family. Codi Heuer was called up from Triple-A Columbus to round out Cleveland's bullpen.

Miller will start Tuesday's game against the White Sox and will be piggybacked by Luis Castillo out of the bullpen, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

Miller and Castillo both made their own starts last week following the former's return from the injured list, but the two will work in tandem Tuesday while the Mariners condense their rotation from six to five. Mariners manager Dan Wilson hasn't provided an indication of how the innings will break down between the two pitchers, but after covering 5.1 frames in Houston last Wednesday in his 2026 big-league debut, Miller could work deep enough into his start against Chicago to qualify for a win. The Mariners will likely see how both Miller and Castillo fare Tuesday before determining whether to keep the piggyback arrangement in place the next time the fifth spot in the rotation comes up.

Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said that Gore will most likely undergo an MRI on Tuesday after exiting Monday's 7-6 loss to the Rockies after one inning due to left lat tightness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

After the game, Gore described his early exit as precautionary, noting that he felt a cramp behind his shoulder blade that had been presenting some discomfort. Gore was charged with two runs on three hits and two walks during the 28-pitch inning, and both his fastball and sinker velocities were down just over a mile per hour from their season averages. The upcoming imaging should shed more light on the severity of Gore's injury, but the Rangers aren't yet ruling the southpaw out from making his next turn through the rotation, which would fall Sunday in Anaheim.

Imai (1-2) took the loss Monday against the Twins, allowing three runs on five hits and no walks with five strikeouts across 4.2 innings.

All three of the runs against Imai came on a pair of homers by Josh Bell. Otherwise, Imai's stuff looked good, as he generated a season-high 19 whiffs on 74 pitches. In two starts since returning from arm fatigue, Imai has surrendered nine runs on 10 hits and three walks with eight strikeouts across 8.2 innings. He's been hurt by the long ball in both outings, surrendering four round trippers. On the season, Imai owns an ugly 8.31 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 21:14 K:BB across 17.1 innings. Walks have been a problem, as he'd walked at least three in each of his first four starts before issuing zero Monday.
