Detmers gave up three runs on four hits and two walks over 4.2 innings in Wednesday's win over the Red Sox. He struck out two and did not factor into the decision.

Detmers surrendered a two-RBI double to Trevor Story in the bottom of the third inning, scoring Bobby Dalbec and Christian Arroyo. He later allowed another RBI double to Story, which scored Arroyo again. The 22-year-old Detmers has struggled to find his footing in 2022, pitching five or fewer innings in all five of his starts and posting a 5.32 ERA and 1.14 WHIP over 22 innings. He tentatively lines up to face the Rays at home Tuesday.

Verlander (3-1) allowed two earned runs on five hits and no walks while striking out three across 6.2 innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Mariners.

Verlander was more reliant upon contact than is typically the case, though he still held Seattle scoreless through six innings. The lone blemish to his line came on a two-run home run by Eugenio Suarez. Verlander has now delivered a quality start in each of his last four outings, and he has yet to allow more than three earned runs in any appearance on the campaign. Through 32.2 innings, Verlander has maintained a 1.93 ERA and a 31:4 K:BB.

Whitlock pitched five innings, giving up two runs on two hits while striking out nine in Wednesday's loss to the Angels. He did not factor into the decision.

Whitlock held the Angels off the basepaths for 4.1 innings before surrendering a double to Jared Walsh. Just two batters later, Max Stassi launched a two-run homer, tying the game at 2-2. The five innings pitched and nine punchouts were both season highs for Whitlock. The 25-year-old has been very effective this season, going 1-1 while posting a 1.25 ERA and 0.69 WHIP with 29 strikeouts over 21.2 frames.

Cortes (1-1) picked up the loss after he tossed four innings, surrendering two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three against the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

The right-hander gave up a solo home run to Matt Chapman in the bottom of the second inning and then allowed another run on a Vladimir Guerrero RBI single in the following frame. The outing was his shortest of the season, while the three strikeouts tied his lowest total of the year. Cortes now owns a 1.82 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 31 strikeouts over 24.2 innings. He tentatively lines up to face the Blue Jays again next week.

Bubic (0-3) was charged with the loss Wednesday against the Cardinals after giving up four runs on two hits with two walks and zero strikeouts in one-third of an inning.

Bubic threw 10 of his 24 pitches for strikes and retired only one of the five batters he faced before being yanked. It was a disastrous outing for the left-hander, and it's the second time this season he's failed to finish the first inning. The 24-year-old has a 13.14 ERA, 2.35 WHIP and 8:11 K:BB over 12.1 innings this season; his next outing lines up Wednesday at Texas, if he retains his spot in the rotation.

Faedo allowed two runs on eight hits across five innings and did not factor into the decision in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Pirates. He walked one and struck out one.

Faedo played with fire a bit by allowing nearly two baserunners per inning, but he limited damage in his MLB debut. The 26-year-old dealt with Tommy John surgery as well as the cancellation of the 2020 minor-league season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so his ascension to the majors hit a few roadblocks the past couple years. An extra arm was needed for Wednesday's doubleheader and the Tigers have another twin bill set for Tuesday against the Athletics; therefore, Faedo may get another turn, but he'll likely head to Triple-A Toledo after that point.

Kikuchi picked up the win Wednesday against the Yankees, tossing six innings and surrendering one run on three hits and a walk while striking out seven against the Yankees.

Kikuchi put together his best outing of the season Wednesday, ultimately ending the Yankees' 11-game win streak. The 30-year-old notched a season-high seven strikeouts on his way to his first quality start and win of the campaign. The only blemish on his line came in the top of the third inning when Joey Gallo took him deep for a solo shot. Kikuchi now owns a 4.35 ERA and 1.55 WHIP while registering 20 strikeouts over 20.2 innings.

Kluber allowed three hits and one walk while striking out seven across six scoreless innings Wednesday against the Athletics. He did not factor into the decision.

Kluber needed only 64 pitches to retire 18 batters, and he has now completed six innings in consecutive starts. He also generated 10 swinging strikes to aid him to a season-best seven strikeouts. Kluber has now allowed two or fewer earned runs in four of his five starts to begin the campaign, and he owns a 2.36 ERA with a 25:6 K:BB across 26.2 frames.

Montas allowed four hits and one walk while striking out six across seven scoreless innings Wednesday against the Rays. He did not factor into the decision.

Montas was dominant for his entire outing, as he scattered three singles and a double across his seven innings of work. He wasn't prolific in terms of strikeouts, though he does have at least six punchouts in five of his six starts this season. Montas has also allowed two or fewer earned runs four times to begin the campaign, resulting in a 3.44 ERA across 36.2 frames.

Irvin underwent an MRI on his left shoulder Wednesday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Irvin is being evaluated for shoulder soreness, and it's not a major surprise that evaluation includes an MRI. The 28-year-old's next turn through the rotation comes up Friday at Minnesota, and his availability for that start is questionable at best.
