Urquidy (12-5) allowed three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five over five innings to take the loss versus the Orioles on Saturday.

All three runs came on home runs in the third inning -- a two-run blast from Anthony Santander and a solo shot from Austin Hays. This was the second time in four starts Urquidy's given up multiple homers, and both of those instances came in home starts. The 27-year-old righty still has a solid 3.69 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP and 109:31 K:BB through 139 innings across 24 starts, but he's approaching his most frames in any professional season, trailing only 2019 (144 innings). Urquidy is projected for a road start versus the Angels next weekend.

Kremer (6-4) earned the win Saturday over the Astros, allowing one run on four hits while striking out three over 7.2 innings.

Kremer delivered his longest start of the year and avoided issuing a free pass for just the third time in 15 outings. The Astros cobbled together a run in the seventh inning, but Kremer got Alex Bregman to ground into a double play to limit the damage in that frame. Aside from a hiccup in Boston on Aug. 11, Kremer's enjoyed a strong August. He's allowed eight runs across 32 innings for a 2.25 ERA through five starts this month. For the season, he has a 3.24 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 62:18 K:BB through 83.1 innings overall. He'll look to keep rolling in September with a favorable projected home start versus the Athletics next on the docket.

Hill (6-5) earned the win Saturday, allowing zero runs on three hits and one walk over seven innings in a 5-1 win over the Rays. He struck out 11.

Hill did not allow an extra-base hit in his outstanding performance against the Rays. The lefty has had a tough stretch following his return from a knee injury, recording a 7.50 ERA and allowing 16 hits over 12 innings in the three starts prior to this contest. The 42-year-old veteran currently has his highest ERA (4.32) since 2013 when he recorded a 6.28 ERA in 38.2 innings as a reliever.

Springs (6-4) took the loss Saturday, allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk over six innings against Boston. He struck out eight.

Springs allowed a solo home run from second baseman Enrique Hernandez to lead off the fourth after giving up a pair of two-run singles in the first. This is the first time in 18 starts and 26 appearances during 2022 that the lefty allowed five runs or more. The 29-year-old had been pitching well in the four starts prior to this contest, recording a 1.66 ERA and 0.97 WHIP across 21.2 innings.

Mahle (shoulder) felt good after he threw a bullpen session Friday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Mahle resumed throwing this week and was cleared for mound work Friday. The right-hander is expected to throw another bullpen session in the coming days and will likely be able to return from the 15-day injured list in early September. Mahle is eligible to rejoin the Twins as early as Sept. 2.

Keuchel's contract was selected from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

Keuchel will make his Rangers debut as the starter for Saturday's game against the Tigers, marking the third team he's pitched for at the major-league level this season. Even if he makes at least one more turn through the rotation while Cole Ragans (calf) is sidelined, Keuchel has posted a lackluster 8.53 ERA and 2.03 WHIP in 50.2 innings over 12 starts in the big leagues this year.

Cortes (groin) was running sprints shortly after he was placed on the 15-day IL on Thursday, and he's optimistic that his absence will be brief, Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media reports.

It seems strange that Cortes was able to sprint so soon after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 groin strain, but it bodes well for his chances of being activated when first eligible. The lefty starter indicated optimism about that scenario, stating, "The way I feel (Thursday), I'm hoping another 15 days will be exactly what I need." Cortes has already exceeded his career high as a professional with 131 innings this season, so the time off could help prevent him from wearing down in the postseason.

Lynn was placed on the bereavement list Saturday.

Players may spend between three and seven days on the bereavement list. Lynn last pitched Thursday, so he's expected to make his next start next week against the Royals, per James Fegan of The Athletic.

Martin was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte prior to Saturday's start against the Diamondbacks.

Martin hasn't made a major-league start since early August but will rejoin the big-league club after Michael Kopech (knee) was placed on the 15-day injured list this week. Martin has posted a 4.25 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 36 innings over eight appearances (four starts) in the majors this year, and it's possible that he remains in the rotation if he performs well Saturday.

Detmers (5-4) picked up the win in Friday's 12-0 rout of the Blue Jays, allowing four hits and three walks over 5.1 scoreless innings. He struck out five.

The 23-year-old southpaw dealt with traffic on the bases in each of the first three innings but escaped without any damage as the Angels built a 7-0 lead, and Detmers cruised from that point on. He exited after 105 pitches (66 strikes). Over 33.2 innings since the All-Star break, he sports a 2.14 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 42:14 K:BB while winning three of his six starts.
