Vasquez will make his major-league debut for the Yankees on Friday versus the Padres, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

The Yankees don't have a starter listed for Friday, but Vasquez was spotted in the clubhouse and confirmed reports that he'd be starting. Vasquez has posted a 4.85 ERA and 50:23 K:BB over 42.2 innings covering nine starts this season at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He's a solid pitching prospect but wouldn't be an advisable streamer versus San Diego.

Glasnow (oblique) is listed as the Rays' probable pitcher for Saturday's game against the Dodgers, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

That's the day where Glasnow's name had been written down in pencil and it appears now it can be written in ink. Glasnow was superb during his rehab assignment while coming back from an oblique injury, yielding just one run while posting a 20:5 K:BB over 13.1 innings covering four starts. He got his pitch count up to 67 in his final rehab outing, so he won't be available for a full workload Saturday.

Blackburn (finger) covered five innings Wednesday in his latest rehab start with Triple-A Las Vegas, striking out five while allowing one earned run on five hits and one walk.

Blackburn has resided on the 15-day injured list all season with a right middle fingernail avulsion, but he's now made a total of six starts in the minors over the course of two separate rehab assignments. He was pulled off the first rehab assignment in April after redeveloping a blister, but he's remained free of setbacks and has steadily built back up upon starting a new rehab assignment May 14. After tossing 73 pitches Wednesday and doing well to silence the Triple-A Tacoma bats, Blackburn could be cleared to return from the IL to make his 2023 debut with Oakland. The Athletics will likely re-evaluate him following a bullpen session over the weekend before deciding if he's ready to be activated during the team's upcoming three-game series with Atlanta that begins Monday.

Kaprielian is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Astros in Houston.

Paul Blackburn (finger) appears close to returning from the 15-day injured list, but Kaprielian will pick up at least one more start after he re-entered the rotation last weekend as a replacement for Drew Rucinski (illness), who was placed on the IL. He'll draw a rematch with the Astros, this time at home, after he struck out five and allowed one run on three hits and four walks over five innings his last time out in Houston. How Kaprielian performs Friday will likely dictate whether he sticks around in the rotation on a more permanent basis, heads to the bullpen or gets optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Gaddis is scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Cardinals at Progressive Field.

Though Aaron Civale (oblique) is available on normal rest Sunday and built up to 69 pitches in his latest rehab start at Triple-A Columbus, the Guardians seem to be leaning toward having him make another start in the minors prior to bringing him back from the 15-day injured list. As a result, Gaddis will get the opportunity to build on his strong showing in his return to the big leagues Monday, when he tossed six scoreless innings in a win over the White Sox. With Civale closing in on a return and Triston McKenzie (shoulder) not much further behind, Gaddis still appears likely to head to the bullpen or get optioned to Triple-A after Sunday's start.

Cortes didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 9-6 loss to the Orioles, giving up four runs on five hits and two walks over six-plus innings. He struck out five.

The southpaw held Baltimore mostly in check through six innings, allowing only a Ryan Mountcastle solo shot and getting handed a 5-1 lead, but Cortes faded fast in the seventh, walking Anthony Santander and giving up a single to Austin Hays before Adam Frazier tagged him for a three-run homer. He still exited the game in line for the win, but Jimmy Cordero was even more ineffective after replacing him. Cortes has allowed at least four runs in three of his last five starts and has now served up 10 homers in 54.1 innings on the year, leaving him with a 5.30 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 53:16 K:BB. He'll try to bounce back in his next outing, which is likely to come early next week in Seattle.

Wells didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 9-6 comeback win over the Yankees, surrendering five runs on five hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over five innings. He struck out eight.

Gleyber Torres took him deep twice and Isiah Kiner-Falefa added a two-run shot in the fifth inning, but Wells got taken off the hook for his second loss when the Orioles erupted for eight runs in the seventh. The right-hander's 3.47 ERA and 0.84 WHIP on the season have been excellent, but they hide a 5.02 FIP and unsightly 2.05 HR/9 -- he's served up 13 homers in only 57 innings. Wells lines up to next take the mound early next week at home against the Guardians.

Kikuchi (5-2) took the loss Wednesday, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings in a 7-3 loss against Tampa Bay. He struck out five.

Kikuchi allowed one run in the first and a pair of runs in the second and fourth but was able to submit a scoreless fifth before getting pulled. The five earned runs tied his second-highest mark of the season, and it was the fourth time he's surrendered multiple home runs. The left-hander has lost back-to-back starts and holds a 4.56 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 48:14 K:BB across 10 outings (51.1 innings). He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for early next week versus Milwaukee.

McClanahan (8-0) earned the win Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits across seven innings during a 7-3 win over the Blue Jays. He struck out seven and did not issue a walk.

McClanahan tied his season high with seven innings, a mark he set in his last start versus Milwaukee, and allowed one or fewer runs for the seventh time this year. The left-hander cruised to his eighth victory thanks to plenty of early run support and remains firmly in the AL Cy Young conversation, sporting a 1.97 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 75:25 K:BB across 11 outings (64 innings). McClanahan will look to make it three straight quality starts next time out, which is tentatively scheduled for early next week at Wrigley Field.

Greinke did not factor in the decision against Detroit on Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out five batters over five innings.

Greinke served up a solo homer to Riley Greene in the fourth frame but otherwise kept the Tigers off the scoreboard. The crafty veteran reached five strikeouts for the just the third time among his 11 starts, though two of those performances have come across his past three outings. Since giving up seven runs in 3.2 innings against Minnesota on April 27, Greinke has rebounded by yielding three or fewer earned runs over each of his subsequent five starts. Over that span, he's posted a solid 2.73 ERA, though he has only one win to show for it.
