Ryu (elbow) will be activated from the 60-day injured list to start Tuesday against the Orioles in Toronto, Keegan Matheson reports.

Ryu made his final minor-league rehab start a week ago but has since rejoined the big club and has been throwing bullpen sessions to stay fresh. As he makes his return from Tommy John surgery, Ryu is expected to be part of a temporary six-man rotation while the Blue Jays go through a long stretch with no off days. Ryu pitched well on his rehab assignment and shouldn't be on a strict pitch limit versus Baltimore.

Keller's will receive further testing after his right shoulder discomfort returned, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Keller returned from his rehab assignment after his 30 days were up Thursday, but he wasn't activated from the IL due to a setback in his recovery. The results of Keller's test will determine how much longer he stays on the shelf, but the fact Keller was unable to keep pitching isn't a good sign. The 28-year-old righty put up a 4.36 ERA and 1.87 WHIP through 43.1 innings before getting injured in May.

Means (elbow/back) could begin a rehab assignment with the Orioles' Florida Complex League affiliate by early August, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Means suffered a back injury in late May which sidetracked his Tommy John rehab. He's feeling better now and is nearly ready to take the mound in a game setting. The hope is that he can be an option for the Orioles by early September.

Jobe was promoted to High-A West Michigan on Tuesday after striking out seven in 3.2 innings in his final start for Single-A Lakeland.

His most recent outing was one of Jobe's very best as a pro, as he showcased the type of high-end stuff that led the Tigers to select him third overall in the 2021 MLB Draft. With so many prominent pitching prospects graduating to the majors this season, the path is clear for Jobe to establish himself as one of the top arms in the minors over the final weeks of the minor-league season.

The Dodgers traded Nastrini, Jordan Leasure and Trayce Thompson to the White Sox on Friday in exchange for Lance Lynn and Joe Kelly, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

A fourth-round pick in the 2021 MLB Draft out of UCLA, Nastrini has pitched to a 4.02 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 85:27 K:BB in 73.2 innings (17 starts) this season at Double-A Tulsa. The 23-year-old right-hander will presumably report to the Double-A affiliate of the White Sox in Birmingham.

The Dodgers are close to an agreement to acquire Lynn and Joe Kelly from the White Sox, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

There's no word yet on what the White Sox will be receiving in return, but it sounds like Lynn is willing to waive his no-trade clause. The veteran right-hander has posted an unsightly 6.47 ERA and 1.46 WHIP this season but also a 144:45 K:BB through 119.2 innings over 21 starts. Given the Dodgers' excellent reputation with pitching, the move could be just what Lynn needs to rehabilitate his fantasy value.

Rays manager Kevin Cash said Friday in an interview on MLB Network Radio that Eflin (knee) remains day-to-day, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Eflin was lifted from his last outing Wednesday versus the Marlins due to left knee discomfort, but an MRI didn't reveal anything overly alarming. At this point it seems he has a good chance to avoid the injured list and potentially make his next scheduled start Tuesday against the Yankees.

Manning (3-2) took the loss against the Angels in the second game of a doubleheader Thursday, allowing seven runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five batters over five innings.

This was arguably the worst outing of Manning's campaign, as both the seven runs and seven hits were season-high marks. The right-hander was particularly vulnerable to the long ball Thursday, as the final four runs against him came by way of three Angels homers. Prior to this contest, Manning hadn't surrendered a home run over 25 innings in five starts since coming off the injured list June 27, so there probably isn't cause for concern in regard to a problem keeping the ball in the park, especially since two of the three blasts against him Thursday were hit by MLB homer leader Shohei Ohtani. Manning will look to bounce back in his next start, which is tentatively lined up to come at home versus the Rays next week.

Sandoval (6-7) earned the win in Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader against Detroit, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four batters over five innings.

Sandoval needed 97 pitches to get through five frames, but he kept the Tigers off the scoreboard outside of a two-run third inning. The timing of the left-hander's turn in the rotation in relation to the All-Star break limited him to just three appearances in July, but he pitched well in those outings, posting a 2.08 ERA and 1.04 WHIP over 17.1 frames. Sandoval may be turning things around after compiling a 4.57 ERA and 1.49 WHIP across 15 starts through the end of June.

Cease (4-4) took the loss Thursday, allowing four runs on nine hits and two walks over 5.2 innings against Cleveland. He struck out five.

Cease's final line certainly could've been uglier as he surrendered nine hits, including four for extra bases. Still, it was a tough outing for the 27-year-old right-hander after he allowed just two runs over his previous two starts (11 innings). Cease now sports a 4.15 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP and 143:49 K:BB across 22 starts (119.1 innings) this season. He'll look to get back on track in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week against Texas.
