Ober did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks over five innings against the Reds. He struck out three.

Ober surrendered just two runs on the afternoon despite allowing the leadoff man to reach base in three of his five innings. He's now given up exactly two runs in four of his last five starts and has surrendered at least one homer in 10 straight. It also marked the third time in his last five outings that he's issued at three walks, though he still carries a solid 9:3 K:BB through two September starts to along with a 3.60 ERA.

Gausman (12-9) earned the win over the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing three hits and walking three batters over six scoreless innings. He struck out 10.

Gausman was dominant in the victory, racking up 17 swinging strikes en route to his ninth double-digit punchout effort of the campaign. The right-hander's sixth strikeout of the game gave him a new career-best total for a single season, surpassing the mark he set with San Francisco in 2021. Gausman ranks second in the majors with 232 punchouts and has complemented that total with a 3.29 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over 178 innings.

Civale (7-4) took the loss against the Angels on Wednesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out seven batters over three innings.

Civale fell behind 2-0 in the first inning and gave up four more runs in the second. Though he bounced back to strike out three batters in a scoreless third, the right-hander wasn't allowed to return for the fourth. This was Civale's shortest outing of the campaign and snapped his streak of seven straight starts of at least five frames. One positive takeaway is that Civale continued his recent strikeout binge -- he's compiled 44 punchouts over his past 28.1 frames covering six starts.

Detmers allowed an unearned run on three hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over four innings in a no-decision against Tampa Bay on Wednesday.

Detmers was scratched from his previous projected start Sunday due to an illness, but he recovered enough to take the mound Wednesday. The southpaw's short outing didn't appear to be due to any lingering effects, nor did he pitch poorly -- the only run Detmers allowed was largely due to an error behind him in the third frame. However, the hurler needed 96 pitches to complete his four innings, as the Rays fouled off a hefty 27 balls against him. That prevented Detmers from qualifying for the win, though he still made a strong impact in fantasy with his second straight seven-strikeout performance.

Olson (5-7) earned the win Wednesday over the Dodgers, allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings.

Olson was sharp, keeping the Dodgers off the board until Max Muncy's solo home run in the sixth inning. Through four outings in September, Olson has allowed four runs across 25.2 innings, posting quality starts in each appearance. He's now at a 4.13 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 96:31 K:BB through 98 innings over 20 outings (17 starts) this season. He's projected for a favorable home start versus the Royals next week.

Greinke allowed two runs on five hits and struck out five without walking a batter over 3.2 innings versus the Guardians on Wednesday. He did not factor in the decision.

Greinke threw 57 pitches (42 strikes) this time after he was limited to 48 pitches versus the Astros last Friday. It appears the 39-year-old is being eased toward the end of the season, especially after missing time with an elbow injury in August. He hasn't gone more than 4.2 innings in any of his six appearances since his return, which essentially takes him out of the conversation for wins if he continues to start games. Greinke has a 5.37 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 90:20 K:BB through 132.1 innings over 28 appearances (25 starts) this season. He'll likely continue to work in tandem with Angel Zerpa, though with just nine games remaining on the Royals' schedule, Greinke may receive only one more outing.

Estes (0-1) took the loss Wednesday as the A's were downed 6-3 by the Mariners, surrendering six runs (five earned) on six hits -- including three home runs -- and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out two.

Called up earlier in the day to make his big-league debut. Estes got a rude welcome from Seattle's hitters, as Dominic Canzone slugged a two-run shot off the 21-year-old righty in the second inning before Julio Rodriguez (hand) and Cal Raleigh launched back-to-back solo shots in the fifth. Estes could end up having an impact on the race for the AL West title even though he took the loss. He hit two batters with pitches, including Rodriguez in the third inning, and the M's superstar was sent for precautionary X-rays after the game. The A's haven't yet indicated whether Estes will remain in the rotation for one more start next week before the season is over.

Kirby (11-10) picked up the win Wednesday, giving up three runs on eight hits over seven innings in a 6-3 victory over the A's. He struck out three without walking a batter.

The right-hander did serve up a solo shot to Zack Gelof in the fourth inning and a two-run homer to Brent Rooker in the sixth, but otherwise Kirby allowed nothing but singles as he delivered his first quality start since he shut out the O's back on Aug. 12, and collected his first win since Aug. 5. With the Mariners in a dogfight for the AL West title, and not guaranteed a wild-card spot if they fall short, the team needs Kirby to continue this return to form to close out the season. If he stays on turn, his final two regular-season starts would both come at home against the Astros and Rangers next week.

Gray did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing four runs on four hits and a walk over 2.1 innings against the Red Sox. He struck out one.

Gray found himself in an early 3-0 hole after surrendering a first-inning homer to Adam Duvall before Bobby Dalbec tacked on a fourth run with a solo blast in the second. While the Rangers would rally to win thanks to a 15-run outburst, it was another disappointing outing for Gray, who's failed to make it through four innings in any of his last three starts, allowing eight runs in that span (8.2 innings). Overall, the 31-year-old Gray is 8-8 with a 4.22 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 135:54 K:BB through 28 starts (151.1 innings) this season. He'll look to get on track in his next outing, currently scheduled for early next week against the Angels.

Giolito (8-14) took the loss Wednesday, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks over 5.1 innings against Kansas City. He struck out six.

After snapping a five-start losing streak in his last outing against Texas, Giolito found himself back in the loss column Wednesday. Most of the damage came in the opening frame when Nelson Velazquez put Giolito in an early hole with a three-run homer. The 29-year-old Giolito had pitched well in his prior two outings, allowing just two runs over 14 innings while logging 21 strikeouts. Overall, he sports a 4.60 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP and 195:64 K:BB across 31 starts (176 innings) this season between the Guardians, Angels and White Sox.
