Bradish did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing two hits and two walks over six scoreless innings against the Astros. He struck out nine.

Bradish has continued to impress down the stretch, going 5-1 with a 2.47 ERA in nine outings since the start of August. However, he'd come up short of a win Wednesday, as the Astros would rally to score twice against Baltimore's bullpen. Overall, Bradish is 11-7 with a 3.01 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 159:41 K:BB across 28 starts (158.2 innings) in his second big-league season. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Nationals in his next outing.

Javier did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing a run on three hits and two walks over five innings in a 2-1 victory over the Orioles. He struck out 11.

After allowing a run in the opening frame, Javier would rebound to blank the Orioles over his final four innings, matching a season high with 11 strikeouts. Though he's now gone three consecutive outings without a quality start, it was a positive performance from Javier, who'd struggled to a 6.28 ERA in his previous six starts (28.2 innings). Overall, the right-hander is 9-4 with a 4.64 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 149:57 K:BB across 29 starts (151.1 innings) this season. Javier's currently lined up to face the Mariners on the road early next week in what will likely be his final regular-season outing.

Manager Bruce Bochy said it's "fair to say" Perez may have worked his way back into the Rangers' starting rotation after the lefty allowed three hits and one walk with five strikeouts over 4.2 scoreless innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Red Sox, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.comreports.

Wednesday's starter Jon Gray was unable to make it through three frames, but Perez pitched excellent in long relief and could make a start or two for Texas down the stretch, with Max Scherzer (shoulder) sidelined. Perez initially struggled after being moved to the bullpen in early August, but he's surrendered just two earned runs with a 0.96 WHIP across his past 18.2 innings.

Bello (12-10) took the loss Wednesday, allowing eight runs on eight hits and four walks over three innings in a 15-5 loss against the Rangers. He struck out two.

It was a brutal outing for Bello, who was tagged for a season-high eight runs. The Rangers did most of their damage in the second inning, scoring six runs on six hits, including a pair of homers. Coming into the day, Bello hadn't allowed more than three runs in his last six starts. His ERA is now up to 4.11 with a 1.32 WHIP and 129:43 K:BB across 27 starts (151 innings) this year. For whatever reason, Bello has struggled in day games: he sports a 6.94 ERA in 10 day games compared to a 2.80 ERA in 17 night starts. Bello will likely get one more turn in the rotation this season -- he's currently scheduled for a home matchup with the Rays early next week.

The Athletics selected Estes' contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Estes is set to make his major-league debut Wednesday with a start in Oakland against the Mariners. The right-hander has collected a 3.74 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 131:43 K:BB over 137 innings between Double-A Midland and Las Vegas this season. Estes is a nice prospect but isn't a great streaming option for his debut.

McKenzie (elbow) worked 3.2 innings and struck out two while giving up three earned runs on three hits and one walk in the second start of his rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Columbus.

McKenzie tossed 62 pitches (37 strikes) in the rehab outing, with his fastball topping out at 94.4 miles per hour, per SI.com. Though McKenzie gave up two home runs in the start, he looked healthy and turned in velocity readings that were roughly in line with what he had been posting prior to landing on the shelf June 17 with a right elbow sprain. McKenzie is expected to return from the 60-day injured list to make his next start with the Guardians, possibly as soon as Sunday's series finale with the Orioles. Whenever he's activated, McKenzie will likely be capped around 80 pitches in his next start.

Bieber (elbow) will be activated from the 60-day injured list to start Friday's game against the Orioles at Progressive Field, MLB.com reports.

Guardians manager Terry Francona confirmed that Bieber will be cleared to make his first start for Cleveland since the All-Star break after the right-hander threw a bullpen session Tuesday in Kansas City without incident. Francona said Bieber will be limited to around 80 pitches Friday, though that workload could still be enough for the 2020 American League Cy Young Award winner to reach the five innings he would need to qualify for a win. Bieber has been on the shelf throughout the second half with right elbow inflammation.

Detmers (illness) is listed as the Angels' probable starting pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Detmers was scratched ahead of his last scheduled start this past Sunday against the Tigers after coming down with an illness, but he needed only a few extra days of rest and recovery to move past the ailment. After giving up seven earned runs in both of his first two outings of August, Detmers has looked sharp over his last five starts, pitching to a 3.00 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB over 30 innings.

Marsh (2-8) picked up the win Tuesday, giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits and a walk over 4.1 relief innings in a 7-6 victory over the Guardians. He struck out two.

Taking the mound after opener Steven Cruz had loaded the bases with two outs in the second inning, Marsh escaped that jam but created ones for himself in the fifth and sixth innings, although he never relinquished the early lead Kansas City had built up. After going 0-8 through his first 13 big-league games, the 25-year-old righty has recorded the win in back-to-back outings, and he's worked at least four innings in three straight appearances as a bulk reliever, posting a respectable 3.55 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 13:5 K:BB through 12.2 innings over that stretch. If he stays on turn, Marsh will likely see action twice more before the regular season comes to a close -- Sept. 26 in Detroit, and then during Kansas City's final game Oct. 1 at home against the Yankees.

Allen (7-8) took the loss Tuesday, giving up four runs on eight hits and two walks over three innings as the Guardians were downed 7-6 by the Royals. He struck out one.

The rookie southpaw needed 68 pitches (43 strikes) to record just nine outs, with a two-run homer by MJ Melendez in the first inning setting the tone for the night. Allen hasn't lasted longer than five innings in any of his last five starts, posting a 6.14 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB through 22 innings over that stretch, and given that the 25-year-old has already tossed a career-high 145.2 innings between Triple-A and the majors this season, he could be shut down and lose his rotation spot should both Shane Bieber (elbow) and Triston McKenzie (elbow) get activated from the IL for a final start or two before the end of the year.
