Detmers (3-3) took the loss against Cleveland on Saturday, allowing seven runs on five hits and four walks while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings.

Detmers entered the sixth inning with a quality start still in sight, as he had allowed three runs to that point. However, the left-hander got himself into trouble by walking three batters in the frame, and Bo Naylor made the hurler pay with a grand slam to blow the game open. The seven runs, three homers and four free passes were all season-worst marks for Detmers, who was tagged with his third consecutive loss. The 24-year-old looked to be on his way to a breakout campaign by posting a 1.19 ERA and 30:7 K:BB over 22.2 innings across his first four starts, but he's stumbled since, allowing 16 earned runs and recording a 14:7 K:BB over 17.2 frames in his past three outings.

Lively (1-1) earned the win over the Angels on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out five batters over six innings.

Lively got through four scoreless frames before the Angels posted a run in the fifth, but that was all the scoring the right-hander ended up allowing. The soon-to-be 32-year-old has yielded exactly one run in each of his past three starts, and he's given up a total of five earned runs across 21.2 innings on the season for a sterling ERA of 2.08. It's a bit difficult to imagine Lively continuing this level of success given that he entered the campaign with a 5.05 ERA across 208.2 career innings as a major-leaguer, and his Statcast numbers show that despite his strong start to the season, he has given up plenty of hard contact while rarely getting batters to chase. However, it's also worth noting that his strikeout numbers have tangibly risen -- Lively had a career 6.9 K/9 prior to this season but is at a 10.0 K/9 through four starts this year.

Kirby underwent an MRI on his right knee Saturday after being removed early from his start against the Astros on Friday, but the results are still pending, MLB.com reports.

Kirby's night ended Friday after a relatively modest 88 pitches due to the lingering right knee issue, which he conceded after the game he'd been dealing with "for the last couple of weeks." The general feeling after the game was he would be able to make his next start without issue, but manager Scott Servais said Kirby was sent for an MRI "just to make sure we're treating it the right way." Servais confirmed Kirby's arm felt good and added that he still expected the talented right-hander to make his next scheduled start, which is slated for Wednesday at Target Field against the Twins.

Fedde escaped with a no-decision Saturday in a 6-5 extra-inning win over the Cardinals, giving up five runs on four hits and five walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out two.

The right-hander blanked St. Louis for four innings despite issuing free passes in the first, second and fourth frames, but his luck ran out in the fifth. Fortunately for Fedde, the White Sox came back to tie the game up after he left the mound before winning in the 10th. Fedde threw only 48 of 91 pitches for strikes in his shortest outing of the season, and he has walked at least three batters in three of his last five starts. He'll take a 3.46 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 41:14 K:BB through 39 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Guardians.

Blackburn (3-1) registered the win Saturday against the Marlins, yielding just one run on four hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out three.

Blackburn was perfect through the first three innings and then really got to put it on cruise control after the Athletics offense spotted him a 12-0 lead. A leadoff home run by Nick Fortes in the sixth inning represented the only scoring off Blackburn. It was a nice bounce-back performance from the veteran right-hander after he allowed 13 runs over his previous three outings. Blackburn is slated to take on the Mariners in Seattle next.

Lopez (3-2) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six innings in a 3-1 victory over the Red Sox. He struck out eight.

Boston pushed across a run in the top of the first inning, but Lopez slammed the door shut after that, generating 19 swinging strikes among his 99 pitches as he tied his season high in Ks. The quality start was the third of the season for the right-hander, and Lopez will take a 4.30 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 45:8 K:BB through 37.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Mariners.

Lynch will be recalled from Triple-A Omaha to start Sunday's game against the Rangers, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

He'll be entering the rotation in place of the injured Alec Marsh (elbow). Lynch hasn't pitched well this season at Omaha, collecting a 5.86 ERA and 22:9 K:BB over 27.2 innings. He will be pitching on three days' rest Sunday, having thrown 48 pitches over four frames Wednesday in his last start for Omaha. Lynch won't make for a recommended streaming option.

Schmidt (3-1) picked up the win Saturday over the Tigers, giving up three runs on four hits over five innings. He struck out seven without walking a batter.

The right-hander tied his season high in strikeouts while generating 33 called or swinging strikes among his 91 pitches. Schmidt has been remarkably consistent to begin the season, allowing between one and three runs in every start and completing five innings in six of seven outings, although he has yet to last a full six frames. He'll take a 3.50 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 41:13 K:BB through 36 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come next weekend in Tampa Bay.

Mize (1-1) took the loss Saturday against the Yankees, coughing up five runs on nine hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out six.

A three-run shot by Anthony Rizzo in the third inning accounted for most of the damage off Mize, but the right-hander put plenty of traffic on the basepaths. It was the first time this season he'd allowed more than three runs in a start, and Mize will take a 3.98 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 24:7 K:BB through 31.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Astros.

Means (1-0) earned the win in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Reds, allowing three hits over seven scoreless innings. He struck out eight without issuing a walk.

A setback with Means' surgically repaired left elbow put the southpaw on the injured list to begin the 2024 season. After an extended, six-start rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk, Means transitioned beautifully to the big-league rotation, blanking the Reds in Great American Ball Park while racking up 19 swings and misses on 85 pitches. The Cincinnati offense has been in a bad way, but regardless it was an impressive return for Means and he's fully built up heading into his next projected matchup at home against the Diamondbacks. An All-Star in 2019, Means has thrown a no-hitter in the majors and owns a 3.67 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in 387.1 career innings over parts of seven seasons.
