  • Edwin Diaz RP | LAD

Mets' Edwin Diaz: Strikes out side for 12th save

Diaz earned the save in Friday's 4-2 win over Colorado, striking out all three batters he faced in a perfect ninth inning.

Diaz was brought in to protect the Mets' two-run lead. He made quick work of the Rockies batters, causing all three he faced to strike out swinging. Diaz has converted all 12 of his save opportunities this season and has not yielded an earned run since April 21 against the Phillies. He has a 2.31 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB across 23.1 innings this season.

  • Angels' Robert Stephenson: Exits after three pitches

Stephenson was removed from Friday's game against the Guardians with right biceps discomfort.

In his second appearance since returning from Tommy John surgery, Stephenson had to come out of the game after throwing only three pitches. The good news is that his latest injury isn't related to his surgically repaired elbow, but there's still no telling if he'll need to spend even more time on the injured list because of his biceps.

  • Felix Bautista RP | BAL

Orioles' Felix Bautista: Earns ninth save

Bautista earned the save in Friday's 2-1 win over the White Sox, allowing one run on two hits and one walk with two strikeouts in the ninth inning.

Bautista yielded two doubles and needed 29 pitches to escape the ninth inning with a save. The 29-year-old has now allowed runs in five of his last 10 appearances and continues to search for consistent command following his lost 2024 season. On the year, he has converted nine of 10 save chances while posting a 4.08 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 21:12 K:BB across 17.2 innings.

  • Evan Phillips RP | LAD

Dodgers' Evan Phillips: Scheduled for TJ surgery

Phillips (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery Wednesday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Phillips has been on the injured list since early May due to inflammation in his elbow. He attempted to play catch following a two-week shutdown but didn't respond well, and the 30-year-old righty will now go under the knife to address the issue. The procedure will put an early end to his 2025 campaign after 5.2 shutout innings, and he's likely to miss the vast majority of 2026 as well.

  • Joe Mantiply RP | TOR

Diamondbacks' Joe Mantiply: DFA'd by Snakes

The Diamondbacks designated Mantiply for assignment Friday.

The move makes room on the Diamondbacks' roster for Jeff Brigham, whose contract was selected by Arizona from Triple-A Reno. Mantiply was sent down to Triple-A on May 15 after posting a 15.83 ERA and 3.00 WHIP across 9.2 major-league innings. He hasn't fared that much better in Triple-A with a 5.56 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 11.1 innings.

  • Kevin Ginkel RP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Kevin Ginkel: Officially demoted to Triple-A

The Diamondbacks optioned Ginkel to Triple-A Reno on Friday.

Ginkel has struggled out of the bullpen since returning from the injured list in late April. He has a 12.60 ERA and 2.10 WHIP across 10 innings this season, and those numbers are inflated by two outings in which he gave up a combined 10 earned runs. Ginkel will head to the minors to regain his form on the mound while Jeff Brigham comes up from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Nick Anderson RP | ATH

Rockies' Nick Anderson: Signs with Rockies

Anderson signed a minor-league contract with the Rockies on Friday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Anderson opted out of his minor-league deal with the Cardinals and will now attempt to create a role for himself within the Rockies organization. The 34-year-old righty produced a 6.20 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in 20.1 innings at Triple-A Memphis and will likely need to improve upon those numbers before getting a shot to pitch in Colorado's bullpen.

  • Drew Pomeranz RP | LAA

Cubs' Drew Pomeranz: Serving as opener Saturday

Pomeranz will serve as the Cubs' opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Reds, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic reports.

Pomeranz is likely to work the first inning before giving way to right-hander Ben Brown, who is expected to operate as a bulk reliever, per Jared Wyllys of AllCHGO.com. Since being promoted from Triple-A Iowa on April 23, Pomeranz has yet to allow a run over 12.2 innings with Chicago and owns a 0.55 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB.

  • Emilio Pagan RP | CIN

Reds' Emilio Pagan: Converts 14th save

Pagan earned the save in Friday's 6-2 win over the Cubs, striking out one while recording the final two outs of the ninth inning.

Pagan entered with runners on second and third and needed just eight pitches to close out the game, recording a strikeout and a groundout. The 34-year-old has allowed seven runs over his last 10 appearances but has still nailed down six straight saves. On the season, he owns a 3.86 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 30:7 K:BB across 25.2 innings while securing 14 of 16 save opportunities.

  • Diamondbacks' Sean Reid-Foley: Joins Arizona on MiLB deal

Reid-Foley agreed to a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Friday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

The right-hander parted ways with the Mets last week and will now test his luck with the Diamondbacks. Reid-Foley struggled in his 15 outings at the Triple-A level this season with an 8.36 ERA, 2.43 WHIP and 24:14 K:BB over 14 innings.
