Rockies' Tommy Doyle: Optioned to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Doyle to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

Doyle was brought up from Triple-A toward the end of July and has since surrendered five runs over 7.1 innings out of the bullpen. The Rockies recalled Bruihl from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

Bruihl put up a 4.07 ERA and 1.32 WHIP through 24.1 innings with the Dodgers before being traded at the deadline, and he'll now get his first opportunity with the Rockies. Tommy Doyle was optioned to Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

  • Tigers' Mason Englert: Set for rehab assignment

Englert (hip) is set to begin a rehab assignment Saturday with Triple-A Toledo, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Out since July 24 due to left hip tightness, Englert should be an option again for the Tigers' bullpen early next week. The 23-year-old right-hander has posted a 5.46 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 41:17 K:BB across his first 56 major-league innings this season with Detroit.

  • Will Vest RP | DET

    Tigers' Will Vest: Reinstated Friday

Vest (leg) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Vest returns to the majors after four rehab appearances with Triple-A Toledo. In four innings he allowed four earned runs, but he fired a perfect inning in his last game. Before his leg injury, the reliever had a 2.53 ERA in the month of June. In a corresponding move, Chasen Shreve was designated for assignment.

  • Chad Green RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Chad Green: Does light cardio

Green (elbow/head) did light cardio Friday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.

Green was previously poised to make his debut for the Blue Jays after making a final rehab appearance coming off Tommy John surgery on Aug. 8. However, he was drilled in the head on a throw to second by his Buffalo catcher. The reliever suffered a concussion and was placed in the concussion protocol. With the 32-year-old moving about, it seems it will be just a minor setback in his return to the majors.

The Angels optioned Weiss to Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Reynaldo Lopez has been activated from the bereavement list in a corresponding move. Weiss did not make an appearance during his four-day stay in the Angels' bullpen.

  • Blue Jays' Trevor Richards: Throws bullpen session

Richards (neck) threw a successful bullpen session Friday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.

Richards appears on track to return from the 15-day injured list when first eligible next weekend. The 30-year-old right-hander had registered a 2.98 ERA and 83 strikeouts through 54.1 innings this season with the Blue Jays before he went on the shelf Aug. 3 due to neck inflammation.

Blue Jays' Jordan Romano: Targeting Tuesday return

Romano (back) is on track to return to the Blue Jays on Tuesday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Yankees' Ian Hamilton: Serving as opener Friday

Hamilton is serving as the Yankees' opener Friday at Miami.
