Sewald (oblique) said Sunday that he responded well to Saturday's inning of work in an extended spring training game, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports. "I haven't felt anything in 10 days now," Sewald said.

Following the encouraging news, Sewald plans to travel with the team to Cincinnati, where he could be activated for Tuesday's series opener against the Reds. He opened the season on the injured list and paused rehab is rehab after an appearance April 23. He downplayed the pause and was reticent to call it a setback; instead, Sewald chalked it up to panic and wanted a re-imaging to ease his mind. The reliever had never been on the injured list during his MLB career and didn't know what to expect.

Alvarado got the save in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Giants, allowing a solo home run while also striking out a batter in the ninth inning.

Alvarado served up a one-out solo blast to Jakson Reetz that pulled the Giants to within a run but was able to recoup with a strikeout and line out to end the game. The hard-throwing lefty has picked up seven of the team's 12 saves so far this season, registering a 4.30 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 15:7 K:BB in 14.2 innings.

Martin wasn't available for Sunday's 9-2 win over the Twins and hasn't pitched since Wednesday due to soreness in his non-throwing shoulder, Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

Even though the injury is to Martin's left shoulder, the Red Sox are concerned that his mechanics could be affected as a result. If he's not feeling any better after an off day Monday, the Red Sox could move Martin to the 15-day injured list and call up another pitcher from Triple-A Worcester to take his spot in the bullpen.

Gallegos (2-1) failed to record an out Sunday versus the White Sox, allowing three runs on three hits to take the loss.

Gallegos hadn't pitched since allowing four runs without recording an out versus the Tigers on Tuesday. He was already on shaky ground before this recent stretch of dreadful pitching -- Sunday's outing puts him at a 12.00 ERA and 2.33 WHIP with a 13:7 K:BB over nine innings this season. He's still managed a save and two holds, but Gallegos has been leapfrogged by Andrew Kittredge and JoJo Romero for high-leverage duty in the Cardinals' bullpen.

Sanchez allowed two runs on three hits and three walks over four innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out two during the win over Oakland.

Sanchez threw four innings for the second straight outing and would've been in line for the victory if he went one more Sunday. He kept the A's scoreless through three frames before coughing up a pair of runs in the fourth. Sanchez lowered his ERA to 7.50 with a lackluster 11:7 K:BB through 18 frames. As of now, he's likely sliding back to the bullpen with Braxton Garrett (shoulder) and Jesus Luzardo (elbow) both expected to return soon.

Jansen pitched one scoreless inning, allowing one hit in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Twins.

Jansen was locked into appearing in Sunday's contest no matter what, and he worked around an error by his defense and a single for a scoreless ninth inning. The 36-year-old is firmly locked into being Boston's closer in 2024, posting a 1.69 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 14 strikeouts over 10.2 innings in 11 appearances while going 5-for-6 on save opportunities so far.

Finnegan walked one batter during one scoreless inning to pick up the save Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Finnegan has not allowed an earned run over his last 13 appearances and converted his 10th straight save opportunity for the surprising Nationals, who moved to .500 on the season with the win. Finnegan now carries a 1.88 ERA and 0.91 WHIP with his 11 total saves, matching Clay Holmes and Ryan Helsley for the major-league lead in that department.

Diaz blew the save Sunday against the Rays, allowing one run on two hits with two strikeouts over one inning.

Diaz was tagged for a solo home run by Randy Arozarena in the ninth frame, his second long ball allowed in three appearances. Diaz hasn't generated a save since April 15 and is now 4-for-5 on save chances this season with an overall ERA of 2.63 through 13.2 innings.

Santana allowed one hit in one scoreless inning to earn the save during Sunday's 5-2 win over the Tigers. He struck out two.

Santana tossed his sixth-consecutive scoreless outing and was credited with his second save when the game was called after eight innings due to rain. Had the game completed a full nine innings, it is likely that regular closer Clay Holmes would have earned the nod despite having thrown 15 pitches to close out Saturday's contest.

McArthur (1-1) blew a save and picked up the loss after he pitched two innings, surrendering two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out three batters in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning defeat to the Rangers.

McArthur entered the game with the Royals up 2-1 in the top of the ninth inning and gave up a game-tying solo home run to Jonah Heim with one out in the inning. He later returned for the top of the 10th frame, allowing the inherited runner to score on an RBI single by Nathaniel Lowe. The blown save was McArthur's second in nine total save opportunities this season, and he currently possesses a 2.87 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with 18 strikeouts over 15.2 innings in 13 appearances this season.
