Holton (3-0) tossed three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win Tuesday against the Guardians. He allowed two hits and struck out three.

Detroit starter Kenta Maeda struggled in this one, allowing seven runs across only two innings of work, which forced Holton into the game in the third. The lefty pitched much better, however, and he managed to snag his third win as the Tigers poured on the offense in the 11-7 victory. Holton has been mostly good this season outside of allowing five runs while retiring just one batter back on April 26. He'll continue to serve as a long-relief option out of Detroit's bullpen.

The Marlins recalled Soriano from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Soriano will come up from the minors to provide additional depth to the Marlins' bullpen as Roddery Munoz heads back to Triple-A. Soriano gave up eight earned runs in seven innings during his first big-league stint this year, so he will likely be limited to low-leverage work while in the majors.

Urena (1-2) earned the win in Tuesday's 15-8 victory over Oakland, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out two.

Urena was able to minimize the damage through his first two innings before holding the Athletics to just one baserunner (who reached on an error) over his final three frames. The 32-year-old Urena had allowed four earned runs over 3.2 innings in his previous two appearances out of the bullpen. His ERA sits at 3.86 with a 1.29 WHIP and 18:11 K:BB this season. With Nathan Eovaldi (groin) working his way back from the IL, Urena will likely return to a relief role.

Martin (shoulder) threw a bullpen session and is available for Tuesday's game in Atlanta, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

The right-hander has been dealing with an injury to his left shoulder over the past few days but is now ready to take the mound. Martin was a dominant setup option last season with a 1.05 ERA in 55 outings, but he's struggled early in 2024 with a 5.11 ERA across 12.1 innings.

Green (shoulder) has progressed to playing long toss, and the team is hopeful he can throw off a mound later this week, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Green has been on the injured list since April 20 due to a teres major strain in his right shoulder. A clearer timeline on his return may emerge once he gets back on a mound, but he figures to still be at least a week or two away from rejoining Toronto's bullpen.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Ginkel will go back to a setup role upon the return of Paul Sewald (oblique), Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Lovullo wants to throw Sewald back into the closer role immediately, saying that if a save opportunity should arise Tuesday, it would go to Sewald. Ginkel filled in admirably as the temporary closer, going 5-for-7 in save chances while posting a 2.57 ERA and 14:3 K:BB over 14 innings. Certainly, it's a major hit to his fantasy value as he shifts back to being a setup man.

The Cubs recalled Thompson from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

He was just optioned Monday but is back a day later to replace the injured Daniel Palencia (shoulder). Thompson has allowed seven runs (four earned) and recorded just three outs over his last two appearances with the Cubs.

The Cubs placed Palencia on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right shoulder stiffness, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Palencia was touched up for three runs over an inning of work in Monday's loss to the Padres and finds himself on the IL a day later. It's not clear at this point how long he might be sidelined. Keegan Thompson will absorb Palencia's spot in the Cubs' bullpen.

Smyly (hip) will throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

He's continuing his throwing progression as he works his way back from a right hip impingement. Smyly has already missed a couple weeks of action and will probably be asked to make at least one rehab appearance before being activated.

The Marlins optioned Brazoban to Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports..

Brazoban missed all of spring training and spent the first month of the season on the restricted list with visa issues. Those have been resolved, but he will head to Jacksonville for now to knock the rust off as he looks to earn a spot back in the Marlins' bullpen.
