Helsley (2-3) took the loss Tuesday against Pittsburgh, allowing two runs on one hit and two walks with a strikeout over one inning.

Helsley took the mound in the top of the ninth with the score 0-0, but he couldn't keep the game at a stalemate. The 29-year-old walked Jack Suwinski, yielded a single to Andrew McCutchen and walked Bryan Reynolds to load the bases with no outs. Suwinski and McCutchen ended up coming around to score before Helsley was able to record three outs, marking the closer's first loss since April 19 and bumping his ERA up from 2.25 to 2.79 through 29.0 innings.

Bednar picked up the save Tuesday against St. Louis, allowing a solo home run and a walk with two strikeouts during the ninth inning.

Bednar took the mound with the Pirates ahead by two and yielded a homer to Nolan Gorman to kick off the ninth. While he retired Nolan Arenado and Brendan Donovan back-to-back, Bednar walked Jose Fermin and a catcher's interference put runners on first and second. However, Bednar avoided disaster, striking out Mike Siani to complete his 14th save. Although he owns a 5.40 ERA, Bednar ranks eighth in saves and owns a 30:7 K:BB across 28.1 innings.

Suarez (3-0) pitched 1.1 perfect innings and earned the win Tuesday over the Athletics.

Suarez kept the game tied at 3-3 during his appearance, and Kyle Higashioka delivered a walk-off blast for the Padres in the ninth inning. This was just Suarez's third appearance in June, as save chances have been rare for the Padres recently -- the team lost six of eight games prior to the start of this week's series versus the Athletics. Suarez has been dominant in the closer role with a 0.64 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 27:6 K:BB over 28.1 innings while converting all 17 of his save chances and adding one hold.

Kinley picked up the save Tuesday against the Twins, allowing two runs on two hits with no walks over one inning. He struck out two.

Kinley inherited a three-run lead in the ninth but still had to sweat after allowing a leadoff double to Willi Castro and a two-run homer to Carlos Santana with two outs before icing the game by striking out Jose Miranda. Kinley has emerged as the Rockies' preferred ninth-inning option -- supplanting Jalen Beeks -- though Tuesday's close call and Kinley's 8.10 ERA overall could open the door for other relievers to see save chances.

Stanek pitched a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.

Stanek earned the win Monday after the Mariners won in walk-off fashion, and he was able to protect a lead Tuesday. The right-hander has pitched back-to-back days twice in the last week, while Andres Munoz, who recently dealt with a back injury, has taken the mound just once in that span. Stanek has had mixed results as a setup man in 2024, posting a 4.21 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 28:10 K:BB over 25.2 innings while adding five saves, 10 holds and two blown saves.

Diaz allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out four over 5.1 innings to take a no-decision versus the White Sox on Tuesday.

Diaz gave up back-to-back home runs to Andrew Vaughn and Paul DeJong in the third inning, but the Mariners were able to bounce back from that. It was a passable first outing of the season for Diaz, who got the spot start after Bryan Woo (arm) was scratched. Diaz posted a 67:16 K:BB over 66.1 innings with Triple-A Tacoma prior to his call-up. It's unclear if the 27-year-old southpaw will get another turn in the rotation.

Altavilla will serve as the Royals' opening pitcher for Wednesday's game versus the Yankees, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Altavilla turned in a 2.63 ERA and 1.29 WHIP through 27.1 innings at Triple-A Omaha before getting called up Monday and throwing a scoreless frame later that night against the Yankees for what was his first MLB appearance since 2021. He will likely remain in Wednesday's game for only an inning before handing the ball to Daniel Lynch, who will pitch in bulk relief.

Garcia struck out three without allowing a baserunner over 1.1 innings to earn the save in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Brewers.

Garcia inherited two runners from Trevor Richards in the eighth inning, and the Brewers pulled off a double steal to get them both in scoring position. It didn't matter, as Garcia struck out Blake Perkins before pitching a clean ninth to get the four-out save. This was Garcia's fifth save of the year, three of which have come in June while Jordan Romano (elbow) has been on the injured list. Garcia has added nine holds and one blown save while pitching to a 1.98 ERA, 0.66 WHIP and 37:7 K:BB through 27.1 innings this season. As long as Romano is out, Garcia appears to be the top option for saves in the Toronto bullpen.

Suarez (3-0) earned the win Tuesday against Atlanta, allowing four hits and three walks over 5.1 scoreless innings. He struck out four.

Suarez continues to impress as a starter in Baltimore -- he's made four straight starts, allowing just three runs over 19.1 innings. The 34-year-old Suarez, who last pitched in 2017 prior to this season, now has a 1.61 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP and 37:14 K:BB across 44.2 innings. Suarez figures to stick in the rotation until Dean Kremer (triceps) is able to return. He's currently lined up for a road matchup with the Yankees in his next start.

Neris (6-1) allowed four runs on three hits while retiring just two batters to take the loss Tuesday against the Rays. He walked one and struck out two.

Neris was tasked with protecting a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the ninth, but he allowed a double and a single to blow his third save of the year. He still had a chance to push the contest into extra innings until he served up a three-run home run to Brandon Lowe with two outs, which gave Tampa Bay the 5-2 win. It marked the first loss of the season for the veteran reliever, who saw his ERA climb from 2.63 to 4.01 in the process. This was also only the second long ball served up by Neris this year across 24.2 innings. While this effort hurts his overall stat line, Neris should have a little leeway as Chicago's closer given his solid play to this point.
